    Hi all
As always, this will be where the driver briefings will be posted for each round.
Most of our long term regulars know pretty well what the go is at each track, but for our newer members, please take 2 mins to have a look through and see what is track specific from round to round.
These briefings will have information specific to
    - Track limits
    - Pit entry and exit
    - Likely pinch or contact points
    - Strategy options
    - any adjustments to regulations.

Please dont rock up to each round and not know what the regs are !
    The main 2 things are
    - TRACK LIMITS. You cannot run off track to gain advantage. If you do it consistently you will be penalised or disqualified. Our track limits are 2 wheels on the ripple strips. You can be 'almost' off track, but if you have 2 wheels on the ripple strips you will be ok.
    - CONTACT and REDRESSING. If you knock another driver off track, dont drive past them if you have caused the contact. Give the spot back, and then continue your race. the 2 most common mistakes in contact are rear end contact where you 'punt' someone off, or if you get in too hot, and make contact in the side as they take their normal line.
We try to use the Supercars example with contact and track limits, so if you have any issues with this, please contact the mod team via PM.
    - RACE PROTESTS - If something happens in the race that you feel is unfair or rough driving that affects you or is against the spirit of the league, please save your replay and let us know through the stewards group. Dont crack the :):):):)s and blow up. The reason for the stewards group is to apply penalties in cases where drivers have done the wrong thing. Penalties can be anything from
    - a warning
    - A suspended penalty
    - A time penalty added to race time
    - A Disqualification
    - A suspension from the league

Our FULL race rules and regs

    http://raceonoz.com/forums/index.php?threads/procedure-for-post-race-complaints-or-protests.193/

If you see i have missed anything, or need something cleared up, then reply to the weekly briefing.
Remember that we have a whole range of weather slots this season, including hot, cold, wet, clear to Heavy cloud.....
Make sure you are up to speed.

That said, you will be in a team chat very shortly, so you can discus different strategies with your team mates, and if you need help with anything dont hesitate to ask someone.... Is a heap of guys willing and able to help
    Cheers

    - Race Time - @ 3pm - Med Cloud / Overcast / Heavy Cloud / Light Cloud
    - Time progression - REAL
    - Compulsory pit stop - YES

    - TYRE WEAR : ACCELERATED
    - Weather progression : Sync to race
    - VISUAL DAMAGE - On in Div 1 - OFF in other divisions
    [IMG]

Welcome to Season 12 - Sponsored by IgnitiON Controls.!
Ill make this briefing the longest one, and then look to streamline them from round 2 onwards.

We have 5 full divisions again, so hopefully in this car we have some great racing.

For our new drivers - Welcome. I hope you have as much fun in this league as the long term drivers seem to have. Make sure you have a read below of what is expected at each round regarding driving standards and track limits. Our rules are pretty simple once you get started

For our new drivers, please have a quick read and understand our track limit and contact rules.
    -
RACEONOZ have run track limits as the ripple strips or white lines on the track for many seasons. You need to have 2 wheels on those ripple strips or lines at all times.
    - Rubbins racing as they say, however we wont tolerate 'rough' driving. See below !
    -
Car resets : You are allowed to reset your car IF you are on your roof, or stuck on a barrier. You must reset when safe to do so. If you reset in the path of oncoming traffic and cause an accident, you will be penalised. Remember it will reset you to the middle of track, so oncoming cars cannot avoid you. Its tough watching cars drive past, but dont ruin someones night.

    - Room Disconnects : If you disconnect from the qual room, you may get back in OR the room captain / host may agree to restart the room if you cant get back in.
    - IF YOU DISCONNECT, AND CANT GET BACK IN FOR QUAL, YOU MUST START REAR OF GRID.

ROOM OPEN : Most room captains will 'try' to have rooms open by about 7:45 EDST. Please be on time, or let the room captain or div thread if you may be late. If all agree, the room may wait for you, within reason. Please remember we have drivers from NZ, and later starts mean a much later night for them.
    QUALIFYING : 8:10 EDST
RACE START TIME : 8:20 EDST

ROOM RESTARTS : Sometimes there are issues with the room and a new room may need to be started.
    - If a driver is DSC from Qual, they may get back into the qual room with no issue to set a time.
    - If they CANT get back in before race start, then the room host will restart the RACE room (no qual) and that driver MUST start from REAR OF GRID.
    - Will be a ROLLING START with formation lap based on Qual results from qual session from drivers who finished the qual session.
    - Fuel will have to be turned OFF
    - Formation lap is from RACE START, and cars will form up before TURN 1. When formed, cars will stay single file till last corner, where lead car will slow to 80KLMS, and hold the field till they go. (effectively safety car). Once the lead car accelerates , all other drivers can assume that the race has started.
    - No passing before start / finish line.

QUALIFYING - This season Pit Lane will be OPEN, so if you want to, you can take fresh tyres or adjust the pressures if you think its worth it.

RACE START - IF you receive a FALSE START DRIVE THROUGH PENALTY (IE jump the start), you MUST serve that penalty before the END OF LAP 3. If you dont serve your drive through before the start of lap 4, there will be 30 seconds added to your race time.

TURN 1 LAP 1 : Round 1 is generally the most common where we see contact issues, particularly if we have drivers who haven't done a lot of practice. If you are mid or back of the pack, please make extra effort to slow into turn 1 and not dive-bomb into the mid pack. Giving room on both sides till you get through the turn 1, 2 and 3,4 complex will see everyone get through without their night being ruined. Take extra effort to not ruin someones night in the first race of the season ;)

TRACK LIMITS : Track limits will remain as they always have, you must have 2 wheels ON or INSIDE the ripple strips at all times. Make a mistake or 2 and that's OK, but making CLEAR advantage from cutting the track will see you penalised.
If you do it consistently, you may even be DSQ from the race.
    - Brands Hatch is pretty good at self regulating, with the grass and sand traps up to the track edge so nowhere really for people to cut.

CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage,
YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.
Main spots are the brake zone and through turn 1 (Paddock Hill), and the bigger braking zones at turns at 2 (Druids), Turn 4 (surtees) and Stirlings.

    COMPULSORY PIT STOP : YES.
    - Up to you if you want to take tyres. If you need a hand to set up your pit strat please let us or your team mates know so we can sort you out.
    - you WONT NEED TO ADD ANY FUEL !
If you havent done pit stops before :
    - Make sure you know where the pit entry line is. you must be at 60KLM at the line or you get penalised.
    - Make sure you have your pit controller activated. Is the guy with a big red board only you can see in YOUR pit bay
    - You can adjust the following
    - ABS
    - Traction Control
    - Tire pressures for tyres IF you change them at your stop.

CAR SET UP : There are 2 options for car sets up that people can make.
'LOOSE' or 'STABLE'. It is up to you what setting you use, and it may vary based on the track being used. I would recommend trying both to see what gives the best lap times.
    - For me, the STABLE setting seems the best one where the car gets light. On flat tracks, LOOSE seems to work much better

PIT ENTRY / EXIT : We will be running with Pit penalties ON, so will need to make an attempt to enter and exit using the pit lane lines. We have seen people hit with warnings in game, so be aware of staying in the lane. -
The pit entry here can be a little tricky, make sure you slow enough so you dont get a wheel on the grass..Will cost you bulk time ;)
DONT FORGET TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE AT 60KLMS AT THE PIT ENTRY LINE OR YOU WILL GET DSQ FROM THE RACE IF YOU GO IN TOO HOT.
    - IF SOMEONE IS CAUGHT MISSING THE LANE, THEN GOING INTO THE PITS AND GAINING AN ADVANTAGE YOU WILL BE PENALISED.

PIT EXIT - Is a short run into Turn 1, so you need to make sure you stay right until up to race speed.

Drivers on a race-lap will have right of way, UNTIL the turn in for turn 1. Then the car IN FRONT has the right to run their line.

BLUE FLAGS : Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Best to get off the race line, and with a small lift let them go, so you can continue the fight with those in your class. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS : The stewards group will again consist of Myself, Ad2mny and Gary... if you feel the need to protest, you need to make us aware by PM before midnight Monday following the race. You will also need to have Video evidence of your protest, or ask the room host to have a look on their replay. You may appeal any stewards decision, and the final decision will be made by Koastr. If there is an issue in the race
DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE ROOM OR ON THE FORUM.

SAVE YOUR REPLAY : If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved !

Any question re the above just shoot... We assume that everyone reads this, so no excuses for not knowing the rules and procedures.

    - Race Time - @ 3pm - Clear / Light Cloud / Hazy / Light Cloud
    - Time progression - REAL
    - Compulsory pit stop - YES
    - Fuel : Real
    - TYRE WEAR : ACCELERATED

Ok all, Reduced driver briefing for Round 2 This week at Snetterton. The usual track limits, and contact / redress rules apply and are listed in the first briefing above.

    NOTES FROM LAST WEEK
    - Was 1 protest, which was dismissed, with Stewards Group taking note of side to side contact in that incident. The report is in the Stewards group thread.
    - Was a couple of drivers who thought they may have been "brake checked'. If contact is made, and a protest is received based on a 'brake check' as being the cause, the stewards group will be looking closely at normal braking zones.
    - Great to see so much close pack racing, with incidents redressed on track.

    TRACK SPECIFIC INFO
    - LAP 1 - Is pretty simple here, but make sure you give room through turn 1, before the shake out on the exit of turn 2. If you bump someone off into the boonies at turn 1, it will make for a long recovery for them.
    -
TRACK LIMITS - This track self regulates very well. Is not really any spots where drivers can run off track and gain advantage !
    -
HOT SPOTS - The big braking zones at turn 2 (Montreal) Turn 4 (Agostini) Turn 9 (Nelson) and Turn 12 (Murrays). These are all either Hairpins or fast run into a 90* turn. Give room and be aware of the car in front braking early if they are a little off line on the entry
    - DIFFERENT SETUPS - Was noticed last night that the different setup (Loose or Stable) can make a slight difference in braking zones between the 2. Especially at Brundle and Nelson (Turns 8 and 9).
    - PIT STOPS - The entry to pit lane is very simple, HOWEVER it is a short run into the control line. Make sure if you are following someone into the lane, you dont rear end them into a penalty. Exit is a simple run into turn 1, HOWEVER drivers must remain in the pit exit lane until the blend line which is the broken line on the left. Drivers on the race line (not exiting pits) will have right of way UNTIL the braking zone, where the car on the left will have the corner. REMEMBER pit exit penalties are ON

STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS : The stewards group will again consist of Myself, Ad2mny and Gary, with Aykay joining based on his involvement with Supercars... if you feel the need to protest, you need to make us aware by PM before midnight Monday following the race.

Ok guys, Onto the wet round this week at Hockenheim

    Notes from last week...
    - Driving standards were largely good, with just 1 protest. WHile that protest was dismissed its a god chance to remind all drivers that if you go off track you must rejoin safely.
    - Was a few mentions of lap 1- Turn 1 issues, please try to stay in your lane (give room) until the grid shakes out mid way through lap 1.

    On to the WET Round...
    - REMEMBER DETAILED INFO APPLICABLE TO EACH ROUND IS IN THE FIRST ROUNDS BRIEFING !
    TRACK SPECIFIC INFO
    - QUAL -
You generally only get 1 flying lap in the wet ! The advice is to jump out of the pits as soon as the time permits so you get the driest of the conditions. IF you stuff your qual lap up, please dont ruin another drivers lap.
    - RACE START will be wet, with the dry weather seeing drivers being able to go to slicks anywhere from lap 11 if you are game.
    - LAP 1 - With the wet start, the turn 1 kink will be tough. Give room and be aware of the ripple strip on the left that can catch you out. Lap 1 drivers will be permitted to run wide there ONLY IF there is cars 3 wide, or you are pushed wide.
    - WET TRACK AND PUDDLES - There will be puddles form on the track, so i would advise you do a little practice in the wet so you know where they are ! The main issue will be the main straight into turn 4... There is standing water there, so you will need to drive very straight through that till you get a drying track. I found staying a little left of centre seems to give slightly better grip.
    - TRACK LIMITS - Track limits here will be an issue at TURN 1 (Nordkurve) where you are NOT permitted to consistently run to the left of the ripple strip on exit. TURN 9 and 10 drivers must remain inside the ripple strips and white line.
    - HOT SPOTS - The big braking zones at TURN 2, TURN 6 hairpin, TURN 8 and also TURN 12. IN the wet, make sure you allow for earlier or different brake zone.
    - PIT STOPS - The entry to pit lane is tough in the wet, as there is a puddle just after you enter the lane. Be aware of that ! Make sure if you are following someone into the lane, you dont rear end them into a penalty. Exit is a simple run into turn 2, HOWEVER drivers must remain in the pit exit lane until the blend line which is the broken line on the left. Drivers on the race line (not exiting pits) will have right of way UNTIL the braking zone, where the car on the left will have the corner.
STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS : The stewards group will again consist of Myself, Ad2mny and Gary, with Aykay joining based on his involvment with Supercars... if you feel the need to protest, you need to make us aware by PM before midnight Monday following the race.

Ok all, on to a dry Zolder this week....

Remember all general rules and regs will be in the first post of this thread.
Track specific regs / track limits and pit info below.

    Notes from Round 2
    - 3 protests with 1 drivers relegated to last for track limit breaches. I driver given suspended penalty, and 1 protest dismissed. All details are in the stewards group thread.
    - Overall, some great racing with no major issues even in the wet.

    On to Zolder...
    TRACK SPECIFIC INFO
    - PIT STOPS - The entry to pit lane is dangerous if you have a car in front of you. The brake zone for the pits is a lot deeper than a car braking for the chicane at turn 10. MAKE SURE IF YOU ARE GOING TO PIT YOU ALLOW FOR A CAR IN FRONT OF YOU !
    - QUAL -
Nothing to report here. Pits are open if need to change tyres.
    - LAP 1 - Is relatively simple, just need to stay in your lane till you get through turn 4 for the run into the turn 5 chicane. In the past there have been cars pushed to the sand on the right of turn 1, be aware of cars on your right off the start
    - TRACK LIMITS - There are a few chicanes here at zolder, so obviously turn 5, but that does self regulate to a degree with the large curb which tends to make you spin if you hit it straight on. TURN 7 CHICANE will be
monitored, Drivers MUST stay on the ripple strip on the entry and exit. TURN 10 chicane onto the front straight, again drivers must stay on the ripple strip.
    - HOT SPOTS - The big braking zones at the turn 4 chicane and also the turn 8 hairpin. Make sure if you hit someone into a mistake you redress.
    - PIT EXIT - can be tricky. Drivers should stay in the pit exit line for the right hand entry to turn 2. Once past the parallel exit line, the car on the inside will have the corner.
STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS : The stewards group will again consist of Myself, Ad2mny and Gary, with Aykay joining based on his involvment with Supercars... if you feel the need to protest, you need to make us aware by PM before midnight Monday following the race.

Well done last week guys. Some great racing across all divs from all reports and hopefully this weeks sprint round will give some great racing again.

    NOTES FROM LAST WEEK

    - 3 protests from last week. 2 for contact and 1 for track limits. The sprint round normally throws up some incidents with the fast guys coming through, so please try to give space and respect other drivers and the track limit rules.
    - Please be aware of BLUE FLAGS ! If you get a blue flag you are supposed to get out of the way of the leaders as soon as is possible.

    SPRINT ROUND -
Qual 10 mins as normal, followed by normal race 1.

RACE 2 - 1 lap is added to the race distance (17 laps), and at race start drivers will line up in reverse order of the race 1 results. Once in order, the lead car will set the pace at 100kph, and all other drivers will follow in single file. At turn 9, the lead car will slow to 80kph, but will then accelerate away at the final turn (turn 11) to start the race. There is no passing before the start finish line.
    - If someone DSC from race 1, they may re-enter the room for race 2, but must start REAR OF GRID.

    POINTS
    - Pole winner - 1 point.
    - Race 1 - normal points
    - Race 2 (reverse grid) - half points
    - Fastest lap will be determined as fastest in either race.
Points are collated for both races, then most points over the 2 races will be deemed the winner. In the event of equal points over the 2 races, then the finishing position from race 1 will be deemed the higher finisher.

    TRACK SPECIFIC INFO
    - PIT STOPS - Not applicable !
    - QUAL -
Nothing to report here. Pits are open if need to change tyres.
    - LAP 1 - Can be a tough first lap, especially getting through the first chicane at turn 2 and 3 (Dunlop Chicane). Be aware of cars around you, we will be looking for cars that cut the chicane on lap 1 and gain obvious advantage.
    - TRACK LIMITS - There are a few chicanes here at Bugatti, so obviously turn 2-3 is a spot we will be watching, along with the turn 7-8 chicane. Is a few spots where the white line defined as the track limits, EXIT TURN 4 and 5, as well at the EXIT of 6 and 10.
    - HOT SPOTS - Entry to turn 2-3 chicane. Watch you dont rear end car in front through the chicane. TURN 6 hairpin.... Is probably the biggest brake zone on the track, redress if needed.

STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS : The stewards group will again consist of Myself, Ad2mny and Gary, with Aykay joining based on his involvment with Supercars... if you feel the need to protest, you need to make us aware by PM before midnight Monday following the race.

Alright guys, Apologies for late briefing... been under the pump!

Back to a standard race this week, with a pit stop, make sure you know how you want that to work and how to get into pit lane.

    ISSUES FROM ROUND 5.

    - Ok, the elephant in the room at the moment is track limits. There were penalties handed to 2 drivers for repeated track limits in the last few rounds. While the process through the stewards group was followed, there was 1 case in div 1 that SHOULD have been penalised but was missed through an error by myself. There were also other drivers in lower division who would have been penalised if there was a protest put in for exceeding track limits. While these breaches have not been clear 'cheating' (missing corners by lots) they have been consistent breaches by a tyre width, up to the occasional car width..... I am asking everyone to police your div and IF someone if consistently breaching please make us aware. 4 or 5 'mistakes' in a race is acceptable, 17 or 18 in a race is not.
    - Seems there are a lot of people who dont actually read these briefings and then want to plead ignorance. If you are in a room with people, ask them if they have had a quick look at the briefing so they arent caught out by anything that is track specific... The obvious ones are track limits and pit entry / exit.
    - A reminder that track limits are the ripple strip OR white line. Which ever is the widest if both are in the same spot ! YOu must have a part of your car on them to be considered inside track limits.

    TRACK SPECIFIC INFO
    - QUAL - Nothing to report here. Pits are open if need to change tyres.
    - LAP 1 - Is relatively simple, just need to stay in your lane till you get through turns 2/3 for the run down the hill.
    - TRACK LIMITS - OK.... Here we go ! The obvious one is the turn 9 esses. The rest of the track is pretty good at self regulating. I am asking everyone to keep an eye on 'cuts' through turn 9.
    - PIT STOPS - The entry to pit lane is very short, so be aware if someone in front pulls left to get to the pits. Drivers going to pit SHOULD stay left on the exit of turn 11 so you dont get hit from behind.
    - PIT EXIT - can be tricky. Drivers should stay in the pit exit line for the right hand entry to turn 1.

Hey all, sorry for the late driver briefing..Enduro this week but thankfully will be pretty straight forward with fuel and pit stops etc.

    NOTES FROM LAST WEEK.
    - All good with track limits, so everyone seemed to take more care there. Good job!
    - Make sure you have a reset button mapped. Was a driver who didnt have one mapped and got stuck for a lap till someone came past and helped him back on his wheels.
    - Still sorting the Div 5 protests... hopefully sorted by tonight

Enduro specific and Track specific info
    - Make sure you have a LIGHT button mapped... With a X15 time cycle you will need them to run through the night.
    - Is a long race, so make sure you have a drink with you !!!!!

    - QUAL - Nothing to report here. Pits are open if need to change tyres.
    - LAP 1 - Ok, so there ALWAYS seems to be issues at turn 1 here at this track from people getting too deep in the brake zone on lap 1. As always, if you are mid to rear of the pack, brake early and dont rear end anyone.
    - TRACK LIMITS - SO most of this track self regulates, HOWEVER there are 2 spots that people need to watch.
    -
EXIT OF TURN 4. Drivers are to remain INSIDE the white line on exit
    -
VEDOL CHICANE (turn 14/15). Drivers caught deliberately missing the ripple strips to gain advantage will incur a penalty if doing so regularly.
    - EXIT OF TURN 11. There isnt really any advantage to running side here as it messes your entry onto the back straight. Be aware though that if you run wide, cars that remain on the race line will have right of way.

    - PIT STOPS
    - From my maths, no one will need to add fuel. The tank takes 100L, and from my limited running i am about 2L per lap..... I assume the starting fuel will be enough to get home, if any different ill test tonight and let everyone know on PSN if different.
    - PIT ENTRY - The entry to pit lane is pretty straight forward. Make sure you dont have a driver on your right if you try to get into the lane. Make sure you know where the entry line is so you dont get a penalty !
    - PIT EXIT - Pretty straight forward. On EXIT stay right for turn 1 so you know where other cars are around you.
