    Hi all
As always, this will be where the driver briefings will be posted for each round.
Most of our long term regulars know pretty well what the go is at each track, but for our newer members, please take 2 mins to have a look through and see what is track specific from round to round.
These briefings will have information specific to
    - Track limits
    - Pit entry and exit
    - Likely pinch or contact points
    - Strategy options
    - any adjustments to regulations.

Please dont rock up to each round and not know what the regs are !
    The main 2 things are
    - TRACK LIMITS. You cannot run off track to gain advantage. If you do it consistently you will be penalised or disqualified. Our track limits are 2 wheels on the ripple strips. You can be 'almost' off track, but if you have 2 wheels on the ripple strips you will be ok.
    - CONTACT and REDRESSING. If you knock another driver off track, dont drive past them if you have caused the contact. Give the spot back, and then continue your race. the 2 most common mistakes in contact are rear end contact where you 'punt' someone off, or if you get in too hot, and make contact in the side as they take their normal line.
We try to use the Supercars example with contact and track limits, so if you have any issues with this, please contact the mod team via PM.
    - RACE PROTESTS - If something happens in the race that you feel is unfair or rough driving that affects you or is against the spirit of the league, please save your replay and let us know through the stewards group. Dont crack the :):):):)s and blow up. The reason for the stewards group is to apply penalties in cases where drivers have done the wrong thing. Penalties can be anything from
    - a warning
    - A suspended penalty
    - A time penalty added to race time
    - A Disqualification
    - A suspension from the league

Our FULL race rules and regs

    http://raceonoz.com/forums/index.php?threads/procedure-for-post-race-complaints-or-protests.193/

If you see i have missed anything, or need something cleared up, then reply to the weekly briefing.
Remember that we have a whole range of weather slots this season, including hot, cold, wet, clear to Heavy cloud.....
Make sure you are up to speed.

That said, you will be in a team chat very shortly, so you can discus different strategies with your team mates, and if you need help with anything dont hesitate to ask someone.... Is a heap of guys willing and able to help
    Cheers

OK Guys... here we go again ! Season 13, thanks to everyone who entered !
Remember we are racing to be in the running for the awesome projector from SELBY.

The biggest change for all drivers this season will be the use of "push to pass" (PTP).
Make sure you have your KERS button mapped. You will get 10 presses in qual, and then 10 in the race.

DRIVERS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO EXIT BACK TO PITS IN QUAL TO REPLENISH THEIR 10 PTP !

For our new drivers, please have a quick read and understand our track limit and contact rules.
    -
RACEONOZ have run track limits as the ripple strips or white lines on the track for many seasons. You need to have 2 wheels on those ripple strips or lines at all times.
    - Rubbins racing as they say, however we wont tolerate 'rough' driving. See below !
    -
Car resets : You are allowed to reset your car IF you are on your roof, or stuck on a barrier. You must reset when safe to do so. If you reset in the path of oncoming traffic and cause an accident, you will be penalised. Remember it will reset you to the middle of track, so oncoming cars cannot avoid you. Its tough watching cars drive past, but dont ruin someones night.

    - Room Disconnects : If you disconnect from the qual room, you may get back in OR the room captain / host may agree to restart the room if you cant get back in.
    - IF YOU DISCONNECT, AND CANT GET BACK IN FOR QUAL, YOU MUST START REAR OF GRID.

ROOM OPEN : Most room captains will 'try' to have rooms open by about 7:45 EDST. Please be on time, or let the room captain or div thread if you may be late. If all agree, the room may wait for you, within reason. Please remember we have drivers from NZ, and later starts mean a much later night for them.
    QUALIFYING : 8:10 EDST
RACE START TIME : 8:20 EDST

ROOM RESTARTS : Sometimes there are issues with the room and a new room may need to be started.
    - If a driver is DSC from Qual, they may get back into the qual room with no issue to set a time.
    - If they CANT get back in before race start, then the room host will restart the RACE room (no qual) and that driver MUST start from REAR OF GRID.
    - Will be a ROLLING START with formation lap based on Qual results from qual session from drivers who finished the qual session.
    - Fuel will have to be turned OFF
    - Formation lap is from RACE START, and cars will form up before TURN 1. When formed, cars will stay single file till last corner, where lead car will slow to 80KLMS, and hold the field till they go. (effectively safety car). Once the lead car accelerates , all other drivers can assume that the race has started.
    - No passing before start / finish line.

QUALIFYING - This season Pit Lane will be OPEN, so if you want to, you can take fresh tyres or adjust the pressures if you think its worth it.

RACE START - IF you receive a FALSE START DRIVE THROUGH PENALTY (IE jump the start), you MUST serve that penalty before the END OF LAP 3. If you dont serve your drive through before the start of lap 4, there will be 30 seconds added to your race time.

TURN 1 LAP 1 : Round 1 is generally the most common where we see contact issues, particularly if we have drivers who haven't done a lot of practice. If you are mid or back of the pack, please make extra effort to slow into turn 1 and not dive-bomb into the mid pack. Giving room on both sides till you get through the turn 1, 2 and 3,4 complex will see everyone get through without their night being ruined. Take extra effort to not ruin someones night in the first race of the season ;)

TRACK LIMITS : Track limits will remain as they always have, you must have 2 wheels ON or INSIDE the ripple strips at all times. Make a mistake or 2 and that's OK, but making CLEAR advantage from cutting the track will see you penalised.
If you do it consistently, you may even be DSQ from the race.
    - Silverstone does have a few places that drivers can take advantage...Will be asking all room captians and drivers to keep an eye on the following
    - EXIT TURN 1 (abbey) is easy to run wide on the left on exit.
    - EXIT TURN 9 (copse) again, on exit must not continually run wide
    - EXIT TURN 12/13 (Becketts) again, if you get the entry wrong, dont straight line and take advantage

CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage,
YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.
Main spots are the brake zone and through turn 1 (Paddock Hill), and the bigger braking zones at turns at 2 (Druids), Turn 4 (surtees) and Stirlings.

    COMPULSORY PIT STOP : YES.
    - Up to you if you want to take tyres. If you need a hand to set up your pit strat please let us or your team mates know so we can sort you out.
    - you WONT NEED TO ADD ANY FUEL !
If you havent done pit stops before :
    - Make sure you know where the pit entry line is. you must be at 60KLM at the line or you get penalised.
    - Make sure you have your pit controller activated. Is the guy with a big red board only you can see in YOUR pit bay
    - You can adjust the following
    - ABS
    - Traction Control
    - Tire pressures for tyres IF you change them at your stop.

CAR SET UP : There are 2 options for car sets up that people can make.
'LOOSE' or 'STABLE'. It is up to you what setting you use, and it may vary based on the track being used. I would recommend trying both to see what gives the best lap times.
    - For me, the STABLE setting seems the best one where the car gets light. On flat tracks, LOOSE seems to work much better

PIT ENTRY / EXIT : We will be running with Pit penalties ON, so will need to make an attempt to enter and exit using the pit lane lines. We have seen people hit with warnings in game, so be aware of staying in the lane. -
The pit entry here is very simple, but make sure you slow enough o you dont get a speeding penalty. Is easy to go in way too hot !
DONT FORGET TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE AT 60KLMS AT THE PIT ENTRY LINE OR YOU WILL GET DSQ FROM THE RACE IF YOU GO IN TOO HOT.
    - IF SOMEONE IS CAUGHT MISSING THE LANE, THEN GOING INTO THE PITS AND GAINING AN ADVANTAGE YOU WILL BE PENALISED.

PIT EXIT - Is a short run into Turn 3, so you need to make sure you stay right until up to race speed.

Drivers on a race-lap will have right of way, UNTIL the turn in for turn 3. Then the car IN FRONT has the right to run their line.

BLUE FLAGS : Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Best to get off the race line, and with a small lift let them go, so you can continue the fight with those in your class. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS : The stewards group will again consist of Myself, Ad2mny and Gary... if you feel the need to protest, you need to make us aware by PM before midnight Monday following the race. You will also need to have Video evidence of your protest, or ask the room host to have a look on their replay. You may appeal any stewards decision, and the final decision will be made by Koastr. If there is an issue in the race
DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE ROOM OR ON THE FORUM.

SAVE YOUR REPLAY : If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved !

Any question re the above just shoot... We assume that everyone reads this, so no excuses for not knowing the rules and procedures.

    Thanks stu

    Round 2 on Sunday night.
Points from Round 1... Overall a good job, just the one protest which is up in the Stewards Group thread.
    - We will continue to have pit lane OPEN, however you cannot 'jump' back to pits to replenish your KERS.
    - There were a few comments of drivers being involved in contact, with no protests forthcoming. While we dont want lots of protests after each round, please remember that a drivers standard of driving will probably change if they incur a penalty !

    Track specific info....
    - This will be a tough round given its twilight. I have found that the shadows make it tough to pick some apexs
    - Some of the curbs do unsettle the car !
    - is approx a 2 second gain in qual on your fast lap using KERS...

For our new drivers, please have a quick read and understand our track limit and contact rules.

OK guys, Briefing for round 4....

Only 1 protest from last week, still sorting, hopefully done soon....

    Track specific info....
    - Wet qual and wet start to the race
    - Make sure you have your pit strategy set up properly and test it a few times to make sure it works ! (set your slick tyres to 'ALL' , not 'recommended'
    - Watch the right hand wall after turn 1 in the run down to Eau Rouge.... There is still the invisible wall there if you get too close. You stop so fast your teeth will fly out of your mouth !
    - Obviously Eau Rouge is a spot we will be watching for track limits. Its tough following in the draft, so make sure you use your heads

YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO EXIT TO PITS TO REPLENNISH KERS

RACE START - IF you receive a FALSE START DRIVE THROUGH PENALTY (IE jump the start), you MUST serve that penalty before the END OF LAP 3. If you dont serve your drive through before the start of lap 4, there will be 30 seconds added to your race time.

TURN 1 LAP 1 : Turn 1 generally gives a bit of chaos, and the run into Eau Rouge.

    - This is a classic spot where drivers need to stay in their lanes for the first lap. Use your heads here guys.
Take extra effort to not ruin someone's night ;)

TRACK LIMITS : Track limits will remain as they always have, you must have 2 wheels ON or INSIDE the ripple strips at all times. Make a mistake or 2 and that's OK, but making CLEAR advantage from cutting the track will see you penalised.
If you do it consistently, you may even be DSQ from the race.
    - Exit turn 1, must stay on the right of ripple strip

    - Eau Rouge, drivers consistently cutting here will be penalised harshly
    - Exit of 12 (Pouhon) drivers must stay on, or to the left of the ripple strip
    - TURNS 16 and 18 must stay on track side of ripple strips.
    - Turn 19 and 20 chicane.... drivers cutting this will also be penalised harshly.

CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage,
YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.
Main spots are the brake zone and through turns 1, into Les Combes chicane, and the final chicane.

    COMPULSORY PIT STOP : YES.
    - yo will need to change from the wet tyre to the slick. Make sure you have the tyre change set to "ALL"
    - you WONT NEED TO ADD ANY FUEL !

    - For me, the STABLE setting seems the best one, however it is more 'understeery' that the loose option.

PIT ENTRY / EXIT : We will be running with Pit penalties ON, so will need to make an attempt to enter and exit using the pit lane lines. We have seen people hit with warnings in game, so be aware of staying in the lane. -
The pit entry here is tough, especially if you have cars around you. Make sure you get the car stopped before turning into the lane, we have seen cars get stuck between the barriers !

PIT EXIT - Is a short run into Eau Rouge so you need to make sure you stay right until up to race speed.

Drivers on a race-lap will have right of way, UNTIL the turn in for turn 2.

    Thanks stu

Ok all, will keep this short and sweet.
    Points from last race...
    - Almost sorted protests.... Will try to get finalised tonight
    - Still some incidents of unredressed contact, some that were not protested o_O.
    - Use of KERS and drivers not adjusting their braking in the big stops. This could be an issue at Monza !

    TRACK SPECIFIC INFO
    - PIT STOPS - They are back ! Is a short run in, so make sure you brake early enough
    -
QUAL - Nothing to report here. Can come in and change tyre pressure if you like, but cant replenish KERS
    - LAP 1 - Can be a tough first lap, especially getting through the first turn. Be aware of cars around you, we will be looking for cars that cut the chicane on lap 1 and gain obvious advantage.
    - TRACK LIMITS - Is a few spots here where drivers could exceed track limits, so need to be careful at turn 1 on Lap 1, and through the race if someone challanging with a pass.
    - HOT SPOTS
    - TURN 1. Watch you dont rear end car in front.
    - Roggia Chicane (2nd chicane) - If you rear end someone here you are pushing them into the ripple strips so please redress as they try to recover
    - Ascari Chicane. With KERS and the Draft this will be a spot for a heap of passes, especially if the car in front gets a slow run out of the second Lesmo. Drivers must stay inside track limits here
    - Parabolica. Pretty simple as its not a huge stop, but must remain in track limits on the exit

PIT EXIT - Drivers must remain right till the brake zone, to stay out of the way of cars at race speed. If there is contact BEFORE the brake zone, and the car exiting has moved left of the white pit lane line, then they will be (reasonably) held responsible for any contact. Once in the brake zone, normal raceonoz rules will apply

Ok all, yet another season finished after this weeks enduro. Big thanks to everyone who has showed up each week and given some great racing in all 4 divs. Good luck to all of you who are fighting for a podium spot in the championship.

    Points from last race...
    - Still some incidents of un-redressed contact, some that were not protested o_O.
    - Use of KERS and drivers not adjusting their braking in the big stops.

    ENDURO NOTES :
    - You WILL NEED FUEL
    - The car starts on 50L, and from my maths you will need 115L in total (approx) to get to the end of the race.
    - You will need to add 65L in your pit stop/s in total so if you pit twice, 33L at each stop will do the job
    - up to you if you if you take 2 or 4 tyres at each stop .... or none !

    TRACK SPECIFIC INFO
    - PIT STOPS - Stay of the grass on pit entry... Car will want to spin !
    - QUAL - Nothing to report here. Can come in and change tyre pressure if you like, but cant replenish KERS
    - LAP 1 - Can be a tough first lap, especially getting through the first turn. Be aware of cars around you. Is not uncommon for cars to spin at turn 1 with the natural undulations in the road.
    - TRACK LIMITS - Is a few spots here where drivers could exceed track limits, so need to be careful at turn 4/5
    - HOT SPOTS
    - TURN 1. Watch you dont rear end car in front.
    - TURNS 7 / 9 / 11.... All are big stops after a decent straight. Dont run up someones arse and drive off !

PIT EXIT - Drivers must remain right till the brake zone, to stay out of the way of cars at race speed. If there is contact BEFORE the brake zone, and the car exiting has moved left of the white pit lane line, then they will be (reasonably) held responsible for any contact.
