So the writing has been on the wall for awhile now, and today I am announcing that there will be no more full length seasons of Thursday night F1.

The disastrous attendance rate of late and the frustrating amount of unexplained no shows has ultimately made the decision an easy, but regrettable one. I simply do not have the time and patience to organise a 20 round racing league that no one is bothering to show up for.

The F1 League was born out of a lull in the PS4 racing scene, with GT6 on life support and the original Pcars already being abandoned by its developer, F1 2016 was a breath of fresh air and sadly the days of massive attendance and a fiercely competitive grid seem a long time ago. ‘16 was a solid foundation for a racing series, and ‘17 was a huge improvement, however the arrival of Pcars 2 and more recently GTS has seen the numbers dwindle to unfathomable levels, the 6 car race last week was an absolute travesty and I felt pretty embarrassed to be a part of it, let alone running the show. It was then decided that the the league had run its course as a full 20 race season.

Despite the overwhelming negativity of this post, there is some good news. While there wont be another full length season, there will be a Season 4 (pending sign ups). This new look series will be run alongside the GT/PC/AC seasons and will be incorporated into the Teams Championship. Damage will be disabled and assist regulations will be relaxed regardless of Division placing. The season will last 7 rounds with the usual Round 3 Sprint and Round 5 Enduro, however Round 4 will be a Retro Round, using one of the game’s 13 Classic Cars.

With a fresh coat of paint, I truly hope this will see a renewed interest in the fastest racing series on Rooz. I’d like to thank everyone who has taken part in any of the 50+ races held so far, and @Hatfield & @KoAStR for assisting in making the series a reality.

    Cheers, Jono

Please read the following carefully and 'like' it when you have read and understood it.

TRACK LIMITS: As per our rules and regs drivers must keep 2 wheels on the ripple strips or white lines at all times. We all make a mistake or 2, but if you are caught "continually and obviously" running outside the track limits to gain advantage you will be penalized by the stewards group.

CONTACT: CONTACT IS TO BE AVOIDED AT ALL TIMES. If you make contact with the car in front and gain an advantage, you MUST REDRESS and give the place back. Failure to do so could result in a penalty from the stewards group.

PASSING: Passing is far more difficult with these new cars. You must set up your passes accordingly and not pass recklessly. Suzuka is a very tough track to pass on, constant cornering leaves little chances to slipstream.

SWERVING: You are NOT permitted to swerve from side to side on the straights. Drivers may only change direction ONCE on corner entry.

PRE-RACE: You must wait until a call to ready in the PS4 chat. This will be approximately 45 seconds after the F1 intro sequence, more than enough time to setup a race strategy. DO NOT hit X until the ready call is sent.

FORMATION LAP: This season will see the introduction of the formation lap to set the clutch bitepoint and to warm up tyres. Please avoid overtaking other cars and leave space.

TURN 1 LAP 1: You can't win the race at turn 1, but you can certainly lose it. Take care into the first corner and leave plentiful space for other drivers, as this is the most risky part of the race.

PIT LINES: Use the pit lane lines as indicated. Do not charge into the pit lane as you risk damaging your car and disrupting the race. Commit early to avoid potentially causing a serious accident. Stay within the lines, you may not cut the exit line AT ALL, otherwise you will receive a warning.

PIT STOPS: This season will introduce realistic pit stops. You must slow down to the indicated speed limit otherwise you will earn a stop and go penalty. You must also pull away from the pits using the clutch, and deactivate the pit limiter on the pit exit line.

BLUE FLAGS: Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. You should be aware of the leaders coming up on you, and move out of the way as soon as possible. Best to get off the race line, and with a small lift let them go, so you can continue the fight with those in your class. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty.

STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS: You are to PM myself, @Viperzed & @Hatfield should you want to raise a protestz The main Stewards group thread will have all the necessary info in it, regarding rules and regs, and the protest procedure. Please read it and understand how it works.
    http://www.raceonoz.com/forums/index.php?threads/stewards-group-official-thread.2593/

PENALTY POINTS: For this season you can only be awarded Penalty Points if you have been protested, severely infringe appropriate driving standards, fail to upload your pole position lap, make a track limit infringment on the lap, quit without retiring or spam the PS4 Group Chat.

GROUP CHAT: The chat will be used to convey vital information between sessions. Please do not spam the chat during a qualifying or race session unless it is to warn drivers regarding lag.

QUITTING: This is a huge problem in this game, remember in this series, a safety car will bring you back into the fight. As usual, if you need to leave, make sure you retire the car before leaving the lobby. Failure to do so will result in 3 penalty points against your name. It is also asked that you do not chuck a hissy fit and take out the brake markers. The rage quitting is becoming far too frequent recently and is heavily affecting the race results. In all ROOZ races you must aim to finish the race and/or not cause problems for those still racing. Please do not exit the race unless you absolutely need to.

RECORD YOUR RACE!: Please remember to record your footage via pre recording it or saving it after the race. If you want to protest anything, we can only act on the info we have in front of us, failure to do so will not enable us to view things from your game perspeective, and with some of the issues we have seen, this could have a massive influence on how the stewards group will view and rule on an incident.

Got disqualified for parking in a dangerous place......i spun out just before pit lane with a line of cars behind me so i couldn't pull out on yas or your tyre change would have included a wing change aswell....hummmmm that suxed

Just experienced one of the weirdest glitches in this game...
I go to pit for a new wing, the pit limiter never activated so I got a penalty for that, and then I teleport about 100m forward to my pit box except I’m actually on top of the pit box and then instantaneously teleport into the middle of the front straight without my wing or tyres being changed.
Definitely a weird one, no way was I going to continue after being dealt that sh*t

Very strange race, Wasn't sure if the engineer was smoking something when he recommended inters on a clearly dry track. I was staying out until i saw Jono run off the track at the final chicane. I already know Jono's much quicker in the wet than me and if i pit the same time as him i'd be behind him anyway. In the end i gambled and pitted for inters whilst hat followed me in. Once i was back on the track it was soaked. In short Jono got screwed.

Ended having a close run with Hat and Jono and ended up barely holding on for the win.

Well that was by far the hardest race I’ve ever done, with about 10 degrees of broken steering lock, frozen mid point input and no ffb I was in all sorts, I would not recommend playing any game with a wheel with visual cues only, yet I’m still massively frustrated with 3rd place.

Crashed in qualifying but I had already moved up to 1st on lap 2 after one of the scariest battles ever with Hat and Motors, and began to pull away. Lap 6 I missed my braking point by a mile and missed the chicane. The car felt fine but as soon as I passed the pit lane entry I heard the rain drops, and suddenly all of my rivals are in. DRS is disabled instantly and I have to deal with a whole lap of slicks on a wet track. I’ve never seen it get that wet that fast before and it cost me about 15 seconds.

Driving with red mist I began hunting the top 2 down, making up around 10 seconds on Hat to be right on to the back of them before it was time to switch to the extremes. If there is one complaint I have with this game, is that you do not have much hope in trying something different when the conditions are changable as there is no difference in track grip on/off the racing line. I wanted to stay on inters but I knew it would be suicidal.

Hat was an absolute nightmare to pass, his traction control allowing him to pull away by almost 8 tenths out of the big traction zones. But the esses were my playground and I had to get elbows out to pass him. Right on the back of Motors and I smelled blood. Winning the race up against it like this would be a dream but it wasn’t to be. I was steering too much to the right and went off track and for a final kick in the balls Hat got past too. Rorted of another win but full credit to Motors for winning his 2nd race in succession under much tougher conditions than last week. He made no mistakes, I made 2 very bad ones. That was the difference between 1st and the rest today.
