That is insane, I love it.

I was thinking of doing the same but it takes a lot of time and effort, its good to see you have turned your thoughts in to reality. :D

Joe, never tire of seeing pics of your setup. Mine is in a container that's similar, but slightly larger, we call it a room. lol.

My G25 spat the dummy Friday and had to whip out and buy a G27, smoother, way less force feedback (even on 10), and a big null area at centre, (and this is the 2nd wheel, had to return the 1st because no feedback) really disappointed with the lack of support for it in GT5 or available from Logitech, can't map the buttons, big frown given the price.

Capps can you tell me if the Fanatec wheel in ps3 mode enables button mapping? Do the buttons available provide everything needed?

And does the wheel allow easy force feedback adjustment and steering ratio adjustment as GT5P did?

Love that setup Joe. Back into the cave! Mad effort.

I have a g25 and used a picture I found in a google search for my button mapping, then set up the buttons I wanted using the Driving Force Pro controller configuration.

The picture is here also, have a read as they discuss the G27 also, hope it helps.. http://community.us.playstation.com/message/30477740

I had a go on a G27 last christmas and totally agree that the FFB strength seems markedly lower

I have been thinking about this since the first day i played GT5P - how nice it would be to be able to see the flow of the corner and not just the entry into it.
So with the lastest update came my biggest gift - Multi screen options!
Was not something i had originally designed into my 'Pod' so there has been some head scratching trying to work a solution.
Yes i could just cut a hole and sling the 2 additional monitors in but the main premise for my Pod was that it had to be portable - eg must fit thru a normal door way - so what ever i do the side screens must be able to fold inwards so the that the overall dimension does not exceed 750mm.
I have 3 PS3's - my original first generation 'fatty' which needs to be repaired, the replacement slim and the kids slim(not sure how i'm going to sneak that away?!)
Brought 2 new Dell 1907FTP LCD monitors - just need the HDMI-DVI D adaptors.
Have got the network switch to link them
Need to buy another 2 copies of GT5

    It's Triple screen time!
If you can't beat them with sheer talent then you have to club them with Technology

I find when you build your master piece. meaning 'Racing rig' and then go and updated it like add 2 extra screens it creates another problem. I have updated my rig so many times and always found a problem but got around it, GOOD LUCK and show us some pics when its done.

What shows up on the 2 side monitors? Is it a permanent view of what you whould see when hitting side view buttons. Sounds good but 3 ps3's and copies of GT5 seems a bit overboard, couldn't they program the one ps3 to split the side view off to the other screens? That would make me think about getting a couple of screens.

I can't work out how to show you the video of a triple screen setup but if you check out GT Planet there are afew systems
working with the new update which allows it to work.
    Expensive yes
    Would you like it yes!
You can see where you are driving and what is beside you.

I'd opt for the Playstation eye with GT5 face recognition allowing you to pan your view by moving your face as a first option. But 3 screens would be awesome!

It's going to be harder than i thought..i'm waiting for a response from someone at GT Planet about the angles of the screens required to give a correct side view.
Still has not stopped me getting the skill saw out though!

Having trouble getting my head around that..! If I turn my head to trigger a view-pan, surely then I won't be looking at the TV screen? On-screen there might be a perfect view of me cruising past you & Joe in a slick move somewhere round the Ring (j/k), but I'll miss, it as I'll be looking out my lounge window!?! Or am a really showing my age here!? Go easy on me ;)

Lol yea it's slightly counter intuitive, but the idea is you pan your head and leave your eyes on the screen!
The change of view angle exaggerates your change of head angle, so that you never actually pan your face completely away from the screen.

The benefit being is it's a 'hands free' side look with a sort of analogue control to the view angle. As opposed to the full straight ahead, or full side 'digital' side look, you can do something in between and even use that to help you pick up a view of your apex's earlier with a slow transition back to centred view as you move through the apex.

To be honest I haven't tried it. TrackIR released a similar system for PC which got rave reviews for FPS games like ARMA2 as you can move your view without moving your gun/turret. The same system was reviewed for race sims and I seem to remember mixed reviews, but thought it seemed cool.

I think the Playstation-eye (Web-cam for your PS3) is only about $80, compared to 2 x (GT5 + screen + PS3) required to run two side screens... but obviously multi-screens is still way cooler!

Looking forward to seeing what you can get sorted out Joe. You'll have to post a vid if you get it all up and running.

Mmmmm I just picked up an PSeye today. Bit disappointed to find that GT5 only supports face tracking in Arcade mode at the moment. Luckily the PSeye only cost me $20 for some reason (was sure the tag said $40, and that last year it was $89 at Dick Smith)...Hopefully they'll patch it up so you can use it in GTmode.

You wont be needing a heater in that room. 3 ps3's and 3 monitors and you have probably 1kw of heat right there!
