So SuperGT was a great Wednesday comp, and I miss it badly. Does anyone else want to see this series return? If so, In what capacity? I was thinking of administrating a new series, with races run on every second Wednesday. If not a SuperGT return, I was thinking of running either a "Race Mod" series (GT auto race mods), or a street car series. Please take a vote and post a comment. Any ideas are welcome. Cheers
I liked the super gt, however would like something similar but different. Maybe allow the european touring cars to mix it up. I have the Audi tt race car.
I voted for Something Different. Whether I can commit to a full series, I'm not sure. I like the idea of every second Wednesday though. I ran the most recent race in Seido's saturday morning 501pp series and I was really surprised at how even the field was when using the Performance Point limit. Though we were running at High Speed Ring, where things have a tendancy to be pretty even. But the racing was great; that round allowed any make and we had a good mix of cars, there was an old Diablo, a Corvette spinoff, a tuned Volvo C30, an NSX, and I was in a tuned BMW Z4; yet they were all of a very similar pace. Whichever direction you want to take with the series, I would suggest you don't be afraid of using the PP system to open up the pool of potential cars. I think using something like the old British Touring Cars would be awesome. Though i'm not sure which cars are actually in GT5, and they might be hard to find in the Used Car lot. Edit: To be clearer, I mean that golden period through the 90's where there were heaps of manufacturers and I think the cars had to be 2L sedans. Edit 2: Digging into car lists, it seem the cars I'm talking about were in GT4, but haven't been included in GT5. This makes me sad
i would love to be involved, but not sure how committed i could be racing on sun nights and wed nights. I love the idea of a heap of different race cars, at the same pp. Tuning it could be an issue with regards to time but thats only my prob...... Count me in, and will have to confirm closer to start date. Cheers Stu
There are a bunch of early 2000's touring cars in GT5. I was looking the other day and I have about 5 in my garage that are 400-430hp. From memory, there was an Astra, Impreza, Merc. It might make for some effort to get parity though. Check out http://www.mygranturismo.net/carlist.php?order=pi&start=0 and sort by PP or hp. They seem to be listed here as max values, so higher than the ones in my garage. The ones I'm talking about are ~580-590pp and about 460hp from 2000-2004. They all seem to be standard models, so get going through the used car lot...
*sniff* It's just not the same.. This is what I want http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZwTVIkN7eU Honda, Ford, Audi, Peugeot, Renault, Nissan, BMW... GT used to have most of the 90's touring cars. Anyone used to play TOCA on PS1? Those were good days. Back on topic now..
I know Wednesday night is jam packed with fantastic television Beau but how is the new Wednesday night comp coming along? I miss it very much. Loved Super GTs but don't mind whatever is decided.
Well, to be honest, It's not coming along. I'm leaning towards a second superGT season, but Stumbles is running a Monday night GT series atm, so I might just wait until thats over. Otherwise I'll get a street car series going.
Our Monday night races series is done, last race was Monday just gone. (on the other site... www.ozgt.forumotion.com). Feel free to set a new series anytime Beau.
