    Race Review
Another great race today with a sample of everything, great fighting, disappointment, glory and the slight threat of rain.
The High Speed Ring providing plenty of fast and close racing with lots of unforgiving armco waiting trackside.

The start was great and all drove well off the line. There were some racing incidents and some lost the fight with the track itself.

The points table is looking all very close and there are some keen drivers that I can imagine are all looking forward to Round 3, a night race on the famous SSR5. A track with a very different character.
What will the next race bring?

That sounds like fun if we can find the right timeslot for it. One suggestion on the time of day, if you think it will be ~3hrs driving, why not 2pm start with progression on 8 or so to give a full 24hr cycle. Im not overly keen on driving all 500km in the dark

It gets dark about 830 in game and I didn't want to use a fast time rate, if it was set to 1 then half the race will be in the day and the other half in the dark. I want it to feel real, plus every other race we do at the ring, we have used a full 24 cycle. But we could set the start time back earlier, so the race finishes up in the dark.. maybe just 3 laps or so in the dark. The lighting effects is truly awesome at various parts of this track..
It's funny people online in Open Lobby always ask me to change it to day when I'm testing at night... I love the challenge of The Ring at night, atmosphere is great.

Yea finding the right time slot won't be easy.

Fair enough. I figured there had to be some thinking behind the timing. The dawn/dusk periods to pass to quickly in game to enjoy them most of the time.

To get it rolling, I suggest a start time of 7pm Sunday, the week before season 4 starts (whenever that is)

It's a good concept, but the 3 hour running time is just too long for me.

I'd probably be up for this too, depending on day/time for the race.

Hmm, 3 hours, might need a bucket for wee breaks...lmao

    :)

lol yea... that could be a bit tough.

This could be the longest race I've done, next to the Grand Valley Enduro from GT2 and 4 which took about 3 hrs I think.

When this event goes ahead it will be something far more awesome.
Will do a bit more testing tonight!

haha, will definitely be the longest online race I have ever done, but I finished the Nurb 24hr on GT4 in 3 days (roughly 8.30am to 5.30pm with a lunch break each day)

i could only last about 2hrs. damage on heavy means you need to pit to fix it, this would tend to cripple my lap times because the fences seem to all want to hug me every now and then. still good ideas though
