Hello guys, well I gues in a way my car made it to GT5, I have a HSV GTO Coupe and well it is the Monaro shape.

And my old ride was a Super 6 Calais,

and right inbetween them both I owned this Torrie,

and my real first true atempt at pimping my ride would be my VR Senator lookalike,

Don't currently own a car as I live about 10min by public transport to sydney CBD,
But cars I've owned in the past 15 years both in NZ and aus,
    include,
86' Subaru Leone GLX, Subaru Leone RX turbo 87', Subaru Legacy GT wagon 90', Subaru GTB wagon 97', BMW M3 (had m badges?) 93', Nissan Pulsar GTi-R 93', Toyota Celica GT4 ST185 92', Subaru RS legacy 93', Holden VR clubsport 96', Nissan Pintara TRX 92'.

My current ride is the sydney train service or My Kona Stinky DH / Free ride mountain bike ;p

I prefer speeding on GT as I don't lose demerits!!!!! yeah thats the other reason I don't drive here in aus... ooops

Ha I thought you were a fellow ex-pat Kiwi. It's funny, on the mic you sound just like one of my kiwi mates here in perth that I ride DH with!

I've got a Specialised SX trail, converted to single front chain ring on Saint cranks, e-thirteen chain guide, put Fox40's on the front, and deity 30" bars. I ride park as well. Used to ride 20" but now have a 26" 2010 NS Metropolis.
Have done a little bit of dirt jumping but a bit over two years I smashed up my wrist real good and had to get a plate for a year which has kind of put the fear in me....wrist is not the same anymore.

    = death!
Got a mate I used to ride DH with whose just axed himself AGAIN on one of these....

Yeah riding isn't the safest in Sydney due to Sydney drivers and their arrogance. Every accident i have been in was because of some idiot in a car was not looking out for motorbike riders. Most recent a guy in a hilux pulled a U turn right in front of me across double white lines and collected me at 60kph.. written off my bike and broke my foot.. that was last August.

This time my mate laid the bike down on a high speed corner trying to keep up with some faster guys on a bike rally... Ambulance was called, bikes written off.

    Man that's :):):):), I sympathise.
Yep. Even ones without engines! Broke my wrist dirt jumping.... Had 5 K-wires for 4 weeks and a plate and off the bike for over a year. Surgeon described my wrist as 'exploded' with 'dusting' around the shattered the joint surface. Broke my distal radius which dislocated towards the other ulna, and broke the 'stylis', (the tip of the ulna) which can be seen floating around on the MRI scan. Photo is after the plate came out again (where they've given me a carpal tunnel procedure as well, just be sure) which was more down time. But it had to come out as it was causing alot of pain and friction on my tendons. Fun.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Got some more nasty ass pictures of the k-wires sticking out of my arm after the first surgery if anyone wants to see...
They gave me the sweet pain meds after that. Oxycodone...mmmmm life was good.

When I was 11-12yrs old a guy cut me off riding dirt bikes. I went up the back of him and the chain adjuster on his swing arm mashed into my foot by over an inch. My foot opened up so wide it took two hankerchiefs to fill the hole and stop the bleeding. Pretty lucky, I missed an artery by 2mm and have had no lasting repocussions. Don't remember anything from the first day after surgery, I was soo jacked up on morphene...

Koastr, Is your wrist fully functional today. That looks nasty.

I myself have had my fair share of two wheel incidents over the years.

I broke my left leg in two places in a head on collision on my dirt bike,
Broke my left arm, and my left collar bone in separate dirt jumping incidents.
Got hit by a car when I was crossing the road on my pushie one night drunk, I done more damage then a kangaroo, lol, smashed the headlight, dented the bonnet, my whole hips and backside went through the windscreen and my elbow and arm dented the roof.I was flung off the roof like a golf ball off a pitching wedge with enough velocity to fling both my shoes off my feet. I came to rest on the foot path where I was heading. Amazingly I was relatively un injured, except for what the hospital called, "Significant soft tissue trama" of the lower back. I was sore for weeks.
Had lots of other niggling injuries over the years. Mostly from bikes, both with and without engines.

    Fuuuuuuk.

Almost. I lost maybe 15 of movement (palm down). Makes playing the guitar a bit harder and that's about all.
Although when I push it hard at the gym it still fails before the right one, but not by heaps. It get's fatigued playing with the FFB sometimes too. Until the plate came out movement the other way was a bit restricted too, and I couldn't even pinch an empty pepsi bottle together without pain. Even just freely actuating my figers felt like there was gravel in my wrist. Others could feel it (and hear it) too. You could also see and feel where the plate was. But that's alot better now.

I put ALOT of work into my recovery. The doctors were surprised I recovered as well as I did.

Next time, trying not to land on my wrist, I opted to use my head. Landed so hard on the back of my head that my helmet skinned a patch of hair clean off, and cracked my sternum as my head cranked forward and my chin hit it so hard. Got checked out for spinals. Couldn't drive or sit up out of bed for a week.

Here's a couple more pics of the wrist.

Great to see your okay after surgery KoAStR, those scars do look painful mate.

I complained about my disclocated pinky that I havent bothered to show a doctor, it still doesnt close properly and may of healed irregularly.

Your injuries dont seem to have slowed you down around here though :)

Wow, some of you guys have really banged yourselves up. I used to ride a bike to/from uni (was a '74 Suzuki GT250 - so no chance of speeding tickets) but stopped after I got caught speeding in the car on a double demerit weekend (L plates on bike--> all points gone).
I have a mate who came off his bike in late November last year and managed to bust a piece of his femur about the size of a computer mouse off, which came clean out of his leg. He plans on walking unaided by June and riding to Philip Island in October.

To the original topic, I drive an '04 Commodore on weekends, but during the week, my main transport is an Avanti MTB. The car is an upgrade from an '86 Ford Meteor Ghia, which was given to me by my nana, who had bought it new. My mum still drives it and it still only has about 130,000km on it

Here ya go Trusty. She's 100mm lower now, 3" springs out, smaller tyres on.
I got a yellow sticker for other reasons, now have to lower it to pass the pits (amongst other things).

Pic 1 - Smaller tyres on, rear springs returned to stock, front still at +75mm hehe :p Good tune for GT5.

Pic 2 - Both ends back to stock springs, feels pretty weird being 4" lower.

Pic 3 - Back at home, with only the 2" body lift remaining she's not much bigger than the mazda 3 anymore

The beast will be back...
