Another very disappointing performance from me last night. Qualified pretty well in P3, everyone seemed to be pretty cautious at turn 1 so I saw a hole and grabbed P2. Then my crappy cold tyre driving kicked in and I spun it and turn 9, leaving me in the last couple of places. Managed to pick my way through the field up to P7 but further errors saw me way too far back to catch the front runners. Very disappointed with myself because this track (like Monza) I'm pretty quick around and felt I at least had a chance. Well done to the podium finishers, very well driven race!
That's a shame DJ, you had great pace in practice I was expecting you to be battling up the front with us. I learnt my lesson early in the season about pushing hard on the first lap with cold tyres and having to fight through the field. Losing 2 or 3 spots on lap 1 is much better than losing 10 places. I hope you have better luck at Watkins Glen.
Thanks mate. I've been pretty fast this week in the couple of practice sessions that I've done so I was hoping to be running up front with you guys for once. Funny thing is, I take it pretty easy on the first couple of laps but even the slightest back-end lose is virtually impossible for me to save on controller. Not blaming the controller entirely, I'm sure others on sticks can save it but I just don't have that finesse. Hopefully I'll find a cheap wheel later this year, adjust to that, and then be more competitive.
also, @Zharvs92 will win with 3rd or higher at the final round or 4th with both pole and FL @SPL Racing really needs to go for the full 27 points
I love Watkins Glen and even if I can take the Trifecta I don't like my chances of @Zharvs92 finishing outside the top 4
woah that makes it interesting then! @SPL Racing its on mate. goodluck this week, and may the best man win!
Looks like I've got some work to do, best so far is a mid 41, have only spent an hour or so around there though.
I managed a 39.8 last night but I wouldn't rule out the 38 when the fuel is low. This track is crazy fast with all the banking. Its also heavy on fuel and tyres
Found a game error too if you hit the pit wall on the entrance on the lhs the computer takes over and does a slow lap then drives the rest of the race by itself
Wow. Be careful in that case guys. That would ruin a race. Yeah i havent done any laps myself but usually we are a touch quicker than the steam times for the radical. So a 39/38 would seem pretty good for div 3
