Suggestions include (courtesy of Hatfield): Honda Suggested tracks: Tokyo, Suzuka Civic/Integra S2000 NSX NSX or HSV GT500 Mazda Suggested track: Laguna Seca MX-5/Miata/Roadster 4 door (Atenza/Axela/323 etc.) RX-7/8 RX-7 GT300 or TC or 787B Toyota Suggested track: Motegi Vitz/Yaris MR2 FR sports (Supra/86/Soarer/Altezza etc.) Supra GT500 Note that the cars and tracks listed above are not final. If interested, please vote for the next manufacturer to be featured in an event. If there is anything you would like to add or modify to the event format, please let me know.
so the first 3 cars are tuned with the final race car being stock? my vote would be mazda specifically for the GT300 RX-7 stock
As for locations, I'm currently thinking Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for Mazda (obviously), and either Motegi or Suzuka for either Toyota or Honda.
If there's enough love for the rotor I can ditch the 4 door class and create a classic Wankel category (FC RX-7 or earlier) and a modern Wankel category (FD RX-7 and RX-8).
As a former FD Twin turbo owner I may tear up......loved that thing...on the issue of changes, are we able to look at the power to weight aspect rather than a nominated pp? By all means let people max out their tune but apply some weight penalties to get power to weight for each car in each class within very close proximity of each other. In the nismo event, BMX had the same car as me in one class but had 50bhp (until he kindly shared the secret to his tune). The point is that we are ultimately competing in a track race, not a tuning competition right? I would be happy to help with the pwr/weight stuff. I believe we could do this by getting all entrants to submit their car nominations and include power, weight and NOS/no NOS settings. Then it should be quite easy to allocate additional weight or BHP reduction as needed to get pwr/weight parity.
Duly noted. I'll work on power and weight restrictions as the event develops. I want to emphasize that these events are not purely about the fastest car or tune, but also about the "style" aspect of the cars, hence the points given for best looking car. I may rebalance the points system to reflect this.
Keep it similar to the NISMO event since that worked so well. It was interesting to see some of the different directions some people took when building their cars eg my s13 was the only naturally aspirated silvia in the whole field. Don't let so-called parity ruin a fun event.
The people have spoken, Zoom-Zoom it is! New event thread posted: http://raceonoz.com/forums/index.php?threads/event-10-1-zoom-zoom-extravaganza.2533/
