I wonder if you can play around with director mode after the race is completed? So we could make a badass highlights package instead of praying someone doesn't want to race but just sit in the lobby and broadcast
I'd almost be up for trying out the Director stuff for you guys (I've done a bit of that in other areas in real life) along with a broadcaster but I think I won't get a PS4 version of the game this time around (at least in any hurry). The wheel remains packed away as well, plus I can't remember the last Sunday night that I've been home.

@COME_AND_GET_ME7 @Zachery the link above says 18 on console... "Later on in the stream, Tudor shows off an online lobby option to add broadcaster and director slots. Crucially, neither of these player slots take up precious space on the starting grid. On PC, that means in addition to the 32 players in the lobby racing. On consoles, it’s 18 total." HOWEVER, when you asked in the other thread it got me looking for where i saw it and now some write ups are saying 16 ! That said, maybe i misinterpreted the last line...."18 total" less the 2 director spots Now im buggered if i know how many it will be or if its a typo in the story i originally linked
This is correct. I know a few people who have have close ties to the title. Bit of a shame since some other games are pushing beyond 16 player multiplayer but hopefully console catches up sooner rather than later.
Is it because on console they run peer to peer, rather than a direct server ??? (and yes im talking out of my arse with my limited knowledge of this stuff)!
Honestly i can't say for sure as it's also not my area of expertise but i would assume that's part of the reason, and sadly Dedicated Servers just aren't happening right now either on Console. I believe some games may have Dedicated Servers on Console?? But it's certainly a niche and one that Racing Titles are very much out of touch with.
There's some noise being made on the forums that this is very much worth watching, I'll have to check it out later
I'd ignore ACG's review considering he is not really a car sim enthusiast, his opinion seems to relate to the casual player base also. Another point to ad of his negative feedback isn't something thats brought up time and time again and the only critical bug that is supposedly found is the shadows bug. Most reviews are coming out good and I'm confident that this game will release no where near as much as Pcars1 was. It has been pointed out that you will need a Pro to play this game without much tearing theres been a few videos of the standard PS4 struggling in the wet and the ratio maybe scaled down to compensate this. In a nutshell (stolen off a review) - some of the bad feedback is really being nit picky + Pretty good-looking game in gameplay + Cars look great + Excellent engine sounds + Damages are pretty well done + Varied types of motosports + Many tracks to drive on + Dynamic weather system, day/night cycle, seasons + 180 cars is quite honest + Ferrari and Lamborghini are in + Rallycross, is cool + 1440p on PS4 Pro + Better performance overall + HDR compatible on consoles + The driving model remains solid + Much better with a gamepad than in PCARS 1 + Some of the tracks have a snowy version On the downside - The game can be frustrating - The AI can be a major pain in the neck - Collisions aren't always the best - Driving on snow/ice/rain might be too demanding for some - No new Point A to B stages - A sort of Project CARS 1.5 vibe technically - Cars leave no marks on dirt or snow - Tearing on PS4 Pro and a few occasional frame drops - Environnements look a bit dated now - The flickering of shadows can be distracting - Why can't we choose to hear the engineer's voice in the TV speakers? - Manual wipers aren't assigned to any button by default - So many possible things you can assigns, and so few buttons - Tyre sound is way too loud by default - Latency in menus and long, long, long loading times - Could have used a bit more polish - Some bugs, some of which were already there in the first game - 30 fps replays, why not, but they could look better
Agree mate, nice to balance things out though. Is always people that love some aspects and hate others. Worth listening to if you have the time. Ian Bell talking all things PC2 and anything else he wanted to ramble on about and when you think its finished he comes back into the chat again
