dunno about the amd's, but for that amount you can easily pick up a 1080ti... I'm planning on hocking my ASUS 1080ti Strix OC for $550 when I can finally get my hands on a Strix rtx3080 OC

Hi, looking at getting in to acc on pc. My computer guy has advised that the recommended graphics card in todays models is from $1000 - $1600. I'm only going to be running 1 screen on a sony tv in hd not 4k. Is there any need to go to this extreme or can i get away with a cheaper model, if so which should i be aiming at. Will only be racing online, not interested in racing against ai's. Any assistance from those with experience would be appreciated.
    Cheers

If you're only looking for 1080/60 then a RTX 2060 might be more than enough. The problem is that we're currently in a world wide shortage so prices are being scalped badly. Take the following for instance

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/635482

That card should be around $400, the prices are slowly coming down though, partly due to China banning crypto mining so watch this space.

yeah video cards are a killer atm... if I were to sell my 1080ti 2nd hand I was going to put up for $500, but checking ebay etc I'd be best putting it up for $700 and it would still prolly go quick... and that card now almost 4yrs old!!
def sucks right now to get a new video card at a reasonable price...
It used to be when building ur own PC, 1/2 the cost of a new PC for a decent one (the other half is mobo, cpu, ram etc etc), but now seems to be 2/3 of the price when building a new PC :(

My card that I bought at launch for $1350 is now making low $2k's! Turns out that buying at launch was the right move for once lol

    Hi Beaker
I currently have an GTX1060 6 gb card, its the predecessor to this card so thinking about using this untill prices come down again.. hopefully it will be good enough. EDIT on the other hand, probably not.

Drop all the eye candy down it'll work for sure, just depends on how acceptable it is for you :)
in ACC (PC) there is a setting option so u can see in game what the FPS is...
I recommend loading 25 AI and doing some racing right on sunrise or sunset... thats when ACC really flogs ur PC... tune ur fps for those conditions and u should be sweet everywhere else.

I think it should handle 1080/60 fairly well shouldn't it?

3060's are beginning to show up on Ozbargain for around $800, prices are dropping.

Haha I would be happy with a 6gb card right now.
