I wasn't bothering last night so I quit the game after 14 laps and went to Assetto Corsa Competizione. This game just isn't doing it for me and I've had enough for this season. If the rules change to a format that I'm happy with, and the car is something I can be competitive in, I'll come back. I tried everything to improve the situation, but none of my efforts have paid off. Everything I've done has amounted to nothing and I cannot deal with it. I thought I'd be rewarded for putting in the extra effort and changing to manual gears but no, that hasn't been the case at all. I'm not the fastest driver but my tyres wear out faster than everyone else, which doesn't make any sense to me. This has not been the case in other games such as Project Cars and Assetto Corsa, but then again they don't have silly tyre wear multipliers to create "artificial" strategy. Tyre wear should not be an issue in a 22 minute or 45 minute race. If this series really wants to be competitive, it needs to give each driver as equal an opportunity to win, but that hasn't been the case with me. My very real physical limitations make it hard for me to keep up with the pack as is, let alone with this game's understeery physics and tyre wear. I don't have a hope. I no longer find the racing here exciting or interesting, hence why I've decided to compete in the ACC league. I don't have to worry about tyre wear soo much and I can tune my car how I want, rather than running a default setup. I won't throw GT Sport in the bin because I'll still participate in fun nights and endurance races, but for the moment, I'm going to park it.
Good luck in ACC League, hope it brings you more enjoyment and lights your fire once again. Your tyres wear in controller due to the constant input, corrections that dont happen with a wheel. Anyway good luck and thanks for the racing .
To be honest, I play both GTS and ACC and while both are good for different reasons I still prefer GTS at the moment because I don't have to bother with fiddling around with tyre pressures, fuel loads, car setup etc and can just jump in and drive. The main reason though is the awesome community here at ROOZ
I think tuning is an essential part of racing and critical for me to extract the maximum from myself and the car. When you have a league that disables tuning, it's impossible to get on top of any issues that you may have with the car. So if the default setup doesn't work, you'll be suffering for the entire season. It's a hopeless feeling.
Well, how about that. I didn't realise this either being from WA, we had a public holiday on the Sunday just gone... Showed up and raced regardless
No wonder the Sandgropers feel so alienated and forgotten by the rest of the world. One day they will get a stack of heavy duty front end loaders from the Pilbara and cut a big trench down the line on the map and drift off into the Indian Ocean.
Lol, we had Queens Birthday last weekend, which is why I wasn't able to show up. Catch you all on the 20th
I thought Qld has the queens Birthday in October. WA is in September. Her real birthday is in April. How may Birthdays does she want?!
Well the Queens actual birthday is 21 April so doesn't make any sense at all. Just an excuse for a day off I think and of course no one could agree on which day to take off...
