I had a very enjoyable race, I surprised myself by qualifying third behind beats (about 1/2 a second faster) and anders and ahead of some very fast guys. Anders and I opted to start on RM and that made for some interesting racing with the pack of RS drivers behind. Beats just took off into the distance and I tried to get around anders over the first lap only to fluff it and fall back into the grips of the soft runners behind me. Over the first 4 or 5 laps I was bundled back to 8th (would have been 9th but someone ahead had spun). Once things settled down I was able to sit behind the still battling pack of soft runners and look forward to the second half of the race when the roles would be reversed.
I wasn't too far back from second but there was a huge gap out to first place that I knew I was never going to close. I pitted on lap 10, some of the RS guys had pitted a little earlier.
After the pit stop I came out 5th right on the tail of ovlov, him on RM and me on RS. Ahead, Beats was even further ahead with moon way behind him, both having not stopped yet and razorpod on his fresh RM after his stop.
It took 2 laps and a bit to get by ovlov as he was defending very vigorously. Once by ovlov and with Moon having pitted and now behind I was third behind beats now on RM and Razor.
The gap to Razor wasn't much and I closed over a couple of laps and was able to use my tyre advantage for an easy pass.
By this time Beats was still about 23 seconds ahead but over the remaining laps I was able to take about 6 seconds out of that to finish a still discouraging 17 seconds behind.
I was lucky to score 2nd as I think it was anders who was ahead of me on a similar strategy that spun and also blunty on the same strategy was forced to start at the back of the grid having not got to the timing marker before race start. Blunty came through the field and with about 1/2 a dozen or so laps left started to close the gap to me. He may have beaten me if not for his last row start and an early spin.

Wow, what a race for me, my best race ever in ROOZ. I did practice a lot leading in and probably did at least 10 full practice races with some pretty fast guys that taught me a hell of a lot. @gtkingx, @Adam Thompson, @rollscanhardly,@GasMonkee78,@Stew Wilson,@RPeeM808, @doodah27 for example. I got off to a great start by doing a quick enough lap on my first flyer in QUAL to get pole by .3 sec and got a good start in the race. Worked hard through turns 1,2,3,4 to stay ahead and then the battles behind gave me clear space. I made 2 tiny errors in 23 laps and hit pretty much every braking spot and turn in for the whole race. I watched the reply last night while sipping the Champagne and want to thank everyone for fighting so hard with each other behind me that meant all I had to do was put my head down and concentrate. Got released by NLR and picked up in the draft by @CaptainRisky21 into BHR. Man that silver & Green thing goes good. Cheers Bruce. BHR 1st NLR 2nd :D:D
Congrats to ex Div2 @emmo46 and @Blunty075 for the podium. Shame about the Tyre thing Blunty. I know i will probably come crashing down to earth in race 2 but now is now. See you guys out there Sunday and good luck to all. (Not really):roflmao::roflmao:

x0 tyre/fuel wear for sprint round
Tyre Regs : Heavy Wets only for Round 4

Also, Division 1 Room Captains have decided to run x0 tyre/fuel wear in qualifying (run in practice mode). After qualifying, grid will be recorded and manually set by host after resetting to put wear back on.
@Bluemoon @robin edwards @Peersy it is your call if you wish to do this qualifying process or remain with what is currently in use from last round

    I don’t understand why.
I think Tyre & Fuel management is a huge part of motor racing even in a sprint race or maybe more so in a sprint race so you can either survive or be able to battle in the last few laps. This can create an over aggressive approach to dive bombing, locking brakes up while undercutting and punching it out the other side with no detriment to the tyres and no disadvantage for sliding all over the track. I believe the reward should be there for taking good lines and smooth driving. And the reverse for over zealous and erratic driving and braking.
As for the fuel, it could be set at 60% fuel or whatever will get us 13 laps comfortably.
This is my 2 cents worth anyway.

A sprint race should be a sprint, that's why we have it.
In the past, I have been disappointed with how some of these sprint races have become tyre/fuel management races instead of sprint races.
Every other round will have some form of tyre/fuel management, and the enduro will have it for sure

    Fun Fact
If you put your runners on and sprint around the block 13 times. There will be less tread at the end;):D:roflmao::roflmao:

    Round 2: Blue Moon Bay Speedway Infield A - 40 Laps - 10:30 Sunny - 25/7
    [IMG]

    WELCOME to Season 16!!
As always please take 2 mins to read the following so you have an understanding of what is expected on race night.
If you have any questions, or want clarification on any of the rules or regulations please ask!

ROOM OPEN : Most room captains will 'try' to have rooms open by about 7:50 AEST. Please be on time, or let the room captain or div thread if you may be late. If all agree, the room may wait for you, Within reason. Please remember we have drivers from NZ, and later starts mean a much later night for them.
QUALIFYING : 8:20 AEST for 10 mins. We are using practice mode this season for qualifying.
Once 10 mins has been reached, finish the lap you are on and park up off track.
YOU MAY START ON EITHER TYRE AND PITS ARE OPEN DURING QUALIFYING
RACE START TIME : 8:30 AEST (once qualifying has completed)

LAG ISSUES / ROOM RESTARTS : This is up to the room host/captains. If there is a Disconnection (or cars stuck on grid) at race start, it is sporting to try to get them back in, which may mean a new room to be set up. I always look at 1 or 2 starts if required due to DSC, but as it gets later everyone needs to be aware of getting things going. Please be as reasonable as you can with this....
SIGHT ISSUES: Ensure that you can see everyone on track. Before qualifying, exit to lobby and spend 30 seconds in spectate mode, scroll through the list of drivers on track and make sure that you can see their car. If you can't see somebody (and they are confirmed as being on track), exit the lobby, re-join, and check again.

FALSE START CHECK : Please note that the start type is Grid Start with False Start Check
Please practice this so you know what to expect. Simply, you hold the brakes on until the lights go from all lit, to none lit

TURN 1 LAP 1 : This has the potential to ruin someone's night if we don't use our heads! Should be everyone's goal to get through the first phase with ZERO contact. Give room and run in your 'lane' till you have space to run the normal race line. If your unassisted tap causes someone to spin, you need to redress.

TRACK LIMITS : As we are running with 'track limit penalties" OFF, we will run with our usual Raceonoz track limit regulations. This means you MUST have at least 2 wheels on the ripple strip OR white line that defines the track limit. If you do make a mistake and have to run outside the limits, be aware that you are not allowed to gain any advantage.
T1 outside limit is the wall, T2,4,9 inside limit is the wall, T10 the coloured section on the inside of the banking is not considered track, so 2 wheels must be on the banked tarmac, the advertising boards area on the straight is also not considered track.

CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.
If you bump someone and they end up off track or teleport back to the corner entry, you must wait for them to rejoin and get back up to speed.
Show each other RESPECT! It is difficult enough to drive the car at the limit on your own, without someone squeezing you within a millimeter of the grass.
So be patient and show respect to your fellow drivers.
If you are redressing contact, please do so out of the way of other cars, off the racing line, or if there isn't much room, off track.

TYRES : Racing Mediums (mandatory - unlimited sets) & Racing Softs (not mandatory - unlimited sets)

PIT ENTRY : Please attempt to follow the pit entry lane. Failure to do so may result in a penalty (especially in the instance another driver is affected). Please do not cut the unbroken yellow entry line on the right of the pit lane.

PIT EXIT : Please attempt to follow the pit exit lane, Penalties will be adjudicated in similar fashion to Pit Entry. Please be aware of cars approaching on the straight. Be careful when exiting that you don't move across the track impeding incoming cars. For cars on the straight, please give room to drivers as they exit the pits. Please do not cut the unbroken yellow entry line on the right of the pit lane.
    NOTE: Pitting is NOT COMPULSORY

BLUE FLAGS : Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS : This season the steward will be @Hatfield. If you have reason to protest, please SAVE YOUR REPLAY, and then let him know via a PM.
DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE FORUM OR IN THE ROOM CHAT. There have been multiple incidents where the replays from drivers have been different, so its true that sometimes things are not as black and white as they may seem. You have until MIDNIGHT, Monday night to register your protest via PM. Stewards will ask for video evidence from both drivers or room captain to make any decision.

SAVE YOUR REPLAY : If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved!

PARKING UP : If you are unable to continue to race, please enter the pits and leave your game paused without selecting tyres (or no tyres) so that your car stays parked in the pits. Parking up off track activates yellow flags in the sector, and even though penalties are off, we have reports of penalties occurring for passes happening near the parked car.

FINAL NOTE: Could all drivers please confirm their attendance for this Sunday by 'liking' this post in your division. If you are unable to attend, please post in reply as much in your division. This way we can figure out our reserves or if the room can start early in advance.
(ALSO IF YOU KNOW YOU CANNOT ATTEND, PLEASE POST SAYING SO, SO THAT RESERVES CAN BE ORGANISED IN ADVANCE)
If you do not post in your room thread or psn chat that you cannot attend, a spot may not be held for you for the following weeks race

VIDEO: @Rangeraus has kindly offered to complete a track limits video so look out for that soon
