REMINDER: NO CUSTOM PAINTED SKINS ALLOWED DUE TO JOIN LAG! PENALTIES MAY APPLY
We recommend completely uninstalling custom painted skins from your ACC folders to avoid the excessive join lag issue.

    GENERAL NOTES
    • Redressing is a thing - It's important to redress when you have caused another car to lose position. More info here
    • Start Formation - The Kunos start system isn't perfect and still allows cars to be a fair way out of place by the time the lights go green so we will continue to review starts as a matter of procedure. We will issue warnings or penalties to drivers that we believe are gaining an unfair advantage or disadvantaging other drivers by being out of position.
      • Please respect other drivers and stay in your grid position
      • Do not stay 'ghosted' within any other car especially in the final phase of the formation lap
      • It is not acceptable to take another car's position before the start
      • If ACC fails to give a penalty for being out of position then the Admin team will issue a post race penalty
      • Driver's need to be side by side with their row partner and must maintain a reasonable gap to the cars ahead prior to the lights going green
      • Drivers should stop all weaving and brake warming as soon as the double file segment begins
      • penalties WILL NOT BE CLEARED even if it seems to be a glitch - just take more care!
    • Avoiding pre-start and Lap 1 Carnage! - Take extra care as the lights go green as all cars will be in a tight, accelerating pack:
      • Expect cars to be much closer to you and varying in speed due to all the others around so try to leave a tad more space.
      • Assume there are cars in your blind spots and and on the other side of visible cars until the pack spreads out more.
      • In braking zones you must brake SIGNIFICANTLY earlier than you would in general racing.
      • Avoid sudden direction changes unless you are sure you are well clear.
      • If on a straight section don't drift - stay straight.
      • Approach each situation with caution but execute your driving with intelligence.
      • If you need to redress in this tight pack situation keep going until you can move out of the traffic safely before slowing down
    • Optional use of indicators - Should drivers wish to use indicators to assist with managing lapped traffic, they are to be used as they are used on the road - i.e. you should indicate which way you are going - if you indicate left, you go left. REMEMBER TO TURN THEM OFF AGAIN.
    • All drivers should read the "Rooz Etiquette guide' and "Rules & Regs" linked below before the start of Round 1.

    • non-excessive chat and banter is OK in Practice sessions.
    • There should be minimal chat in Qualifying sessions - essential questions, statements, apologies etc. only.
    • There should be minimal chat in Race sessions - essential questions, statements, apologies etc. only.

    • Feel free to hang around in chat after the race. Many of us like to have a laugh about things that may have happened in the race and it can be a nice wind-down :)

    WHY NO CUSTOM PAINTED SKINS?
Unfortunately due to the serious "join freeze" or "join lag" issue we are currently not allowing the use of custom painted skins for this season. Specifically we are talking about skins painted externally and saved as PNG files that are added to ACC.

We love the idea of custom painted skins and would dearly love to add this rich feature to our league but ultimately the quality of the racing must come first. We have discussed at length a number of ideas and methodologies to try to overcome the problem but these involve arrangements which add complexity for the admin team as well as all drivers involved in the season and still may not result in overcoming the problem. If the situation improves significantly either through better support within ACC or through the community arriving at workable solutions then we will certainly look at allowing custom painted skins into our Monday night league racing.

If you also love custom painted skins then please help us out by searching high and low for real solutions, and by all means feel free to do some testing on our servers including during our Wednesday fun practice nights.

At this stage we are not restricting the use of the in-game editor for creating custom colour schemes. This may change if we find that even that system causes serious join lag issues.

NOTE: As we cannot block the use of skins at the server level we strongly suggest all drivers who sign up to the season remove all custom painted skins from their game installation folders as a precaution. If a custom painted skin has been accidentally left selected on a driver's car when they enter the server during a qualifying session causing join lag they will be immediately disqualified from the round. Any driver that has a copy of that joining driver's selected skin will experience a large join lag as that image is loaded into memory. Every other driver on the server may experience some level of 'join lag' even if they have zero customs skins in their game.

    Thanks for racing at RaceOnOz
    :)

Not a great result again for me due to a brain fade, but as always there's still enjoyment to be had with this crowd :)

After a decent qualy put me 11th I enjoyed the first stint. It was a nice tussle with the cars in the backend of the top 10 or so. But when I pitted I somehow thought the pit entry line was further along so sped over the line and copped a 30sec stop and go . A shame as I would have been in the fight for 11th-13th I think. Anyway I still enjoyed the feel of the car and pushed to catch the cars in front. Had a nice battle with Saturn before managing to nip past and then caught up to the rear of McElhinney on the last lap but ran out of laps to battle.

Next week we have the 2.4 hours of Spa! Go sign up now if you haven't already as this is a non-championship Special Event with some cool new features ;). Like the last one you can choose to team up with another driver, or just go solo. Details of the event will be posted sometime later today/eve.

Yeah, nice clean pass mate. Honda was definitely faster through and out of that chicane than the Lexus. Things were going well enough for me until around lap 11 where I just got clipped on the rear end into T1 which saw me crashing into the barrier and flipping the car onto it's side. Teleported into the pits and came out with 110L of fuel on board. Still, soldiered on and not last, so an achievement

It must have been interesting when you left the pits, I was right in a heated battle with Marsh that point. I wanted to try a move around the outside of him into T1 but there was a gorgeous banana coloured Honda in the way!

I had a very fun race despite having a bit of a moment at the end of lap 1 and going for a play in the sand. Looking at the replay I probably had enough room to finish my braking and make the corner safely without sending Marsh to boxer engine heaven but since I accidentally hit someone at the start of the last season's Rooz Imola race there in a near identical manner I figured it was best just to commit to the bailout. Fortunately for me I didn't loose to much time compared to the people I would be racing but it setup up a fun challenge for the remaining 58 minutes.

First off there were the two Lexus who were kind enough from memory to make small mistakes which let me through, then the hunt was on to get catch @krunch who was in his own battle already with Gallagher. Krunch put some nice defence into T1 but again was as kind as the Lexus pair before to make a mistake in the chicane to let me get ahead before the 2nd last corner. A few laps later Gallagher made a mistake into the same second last corner which gave me a good run on him down the straight, he broke much earlier on the inside and allowed me through at T1 which put me back to where I was at the end of Sector 2 on Lap 1.

The next car ahead was @MatthewMarshHK and I want to thank you for giving me such a fun and fair battle! Your defence was very strong at times but fair and you made your intentions clear when defending so it was a lot of fun to try and figure out where best to attack besides T1. Like you mentioned on Discord, this kind of racing is what I look forward to on Monday's so I really look forward to more of it. With my sprint strategy I usually fuel a bit more in the first stint so I have more options with when I pit however when Marsh pitted I really screwed up my first clear lap and lost maybe 1.5 seconds? Fortunately I still had about 3 more laps on the low fuel so I ran the tank dry before the pitstop, almost too dry. I pitted with either 0.2 or 0.1 litres left since and had to lift and coast just a little on that entry lap since I lost focus on my remaining fuel! Since I had no damage and nailed my stop I came out practically side-by-side with Marsh again on the pit exit making sure to give him the tighter line for T1 if he wanted to try for it and go side-by-side but thankfully he overshot the braking point and took a courteous trip into the gravel, all according to my plan! The heat wasn't off as the tyres didn't really switch on for a lap or two and he was right on the back of me until I started to slowly manage to put some tenths on him up until about 5 seconds total.

At the end Bueller had fallen back and I suspected was also now low on fuel with 2 laps left, this as an opportunity to get an extra position on the last lap but pushed waaaaay to hard out of T3 and almost spun it into the wall! In reality I probably would have got him if I didn't push but oh boy did I almost throw my race away right at the end. Once I saved that I just 'relaxed' until the checkered flag slowly and had crept up the back Bueller again but it wasn't enough.

Thoroughly love Imola and racing at this track as you can tell by how much I wrote about it. Thanks to everyone I raced with.

It was interesting listening to Nico Rosberg talk about the Pirelli's during the F1 on the weekend, I wonder if they first couple of laps are as critical in these cars as they are in F1

There's two things I like about this - how good the waving grass in the foreground looks, and how I drove around Mael like he wasn't even there.

Must be your neighbourhood, seems real rough around those parts. Did you leave a window open?

I've seen/heard that before, it's a very rare audio glitch. Not sure what causes it but it's somewhat known.

Yeah it's quite easy to do if you don't notice which tyre sets the game is putting on your car. I try to remember to select tyre sets above 10 before I save a setup so it doesn't load a lower number that might have been used in prac or qual.
