@Hatfield, sorry bout that, was trying to stay well clear of you and got way offline. Had a shocker, just glad I only wrecked my own "race". Seriously quick podium. Well done
mate you had me on my toes the entire race, each lap i'd check the split times and get nervous every time the number went down, but that undercut worked too well for me.
You had the pace over me easily, it's just that you didn't make a big enough mistake for me to catch or pass you.
Started from p5 got a great start which jumped me up a spot nearly 2 watched gibbster and Mario battle it out ahead of Hat who like me patiently waited until it mistake came unfortunately for Mario this put me up to 3rd were I stayed until the end. Really enjoyed this car and tyre combo here. Well done to Gibby and Hat on your clean races.
I had a terrible quali and started at the rear in 13th but I had a cracking start and got onto stiffs bumper and followed him. Within a few laps I had moved up to 5th place by www being shadowed by Gaz and Blue. Had a great batte with them until I spun coming out of turn 1. With more and more mistakes I dropped further down the field but I always had some one to battle with. The last few laps I was going hard with Cab and Jason to get in the top 10. I had pace on Jason D and on the last lap I tried a move at turn 1 but I ran wide and pushed him off track by accident so I pulled up and waited for him so I could redress. As much as I tried I just couldn't get a clean pass on him and he just beat me to the line. Great driving by all and was good to see everyone show up. I think it's going to be a close tough season with some great racing. Well done Gibby for your first race win.
Only 1.7 seconds between fastest and slowest, not bad. A pity most of mine were high 30's to mid 40's, lol. Too many mistakes.
Hope the rest of the season is nothing like that one. Car is such a handful the back half we off more times than I could count
You'll be right mate. New surroundings and new people, along with a car that can bite if you're not careful. Brands is a great track, but difficult in this car (in my opinion). Who knows, next track might suit you better and you'll be up the top. I only bought the car on Friday and did about 200 Kms testing, so I was struggling. My fastest lap came near the end when I was chasing Blue, don't think I was close enough to get a tow, but I was able to hit the apexes a lot better due to a bit more concentration... And it was fun. Rest of the race was on my own and got a bit tedious
From my experience brake early let the cars weight shift (it will slide in a 4 wheel understersteer action) then ease the power on. If anything dial in more turn it certainly doesnt require much correction when it does slide. Hope this makes some sort of sense for any of you guys finding the LFA a handfull. (1500kg) = brake more and early. To best learn start practicing at the place its named after.
