You'll be stuck with me. So what's the strategy for this race? 2 stops or 3? I'm not too confident with the 2 stop because my lap times start to drop after lap 16. I would not be able to make it 27 laps without going off the road. The balance of the Ferrari changes dramatically as the tyres wear down, and that's when I'm most likely to make a mistake. I'll pit twice for tyres only and once for fuel and tyres to maximise the pace I have.
That's the big question. Very tough race strategy wise. It sounds like you've got it figured out for your pace. Keep in mind the long pit stop times too.
Well I came to the conclusion that I would lose too much time trying to stay out for 27 laps. I want to stay within a reasonable window to ensure that my pace is as consistent as possible. An extra stop may not sound like the fastest strategy but if it limits the margin for error it's beneficial. The Ferrari is a picky machine and I can't risk a crash.
I'm 1.1 seconds behind the pole time and almost 0.7 behind JonoStan. If I lose that much time per lap over 80 laps, there will be a pretty big margin.
I just did some laps and I'm doing 1:30's flat out, imagine how I feel, I Get to look forward to another flogging. Still can't see what you're worried about. Qually lap is different to race pace.
Nice stream Viperzed, made some of us sound alot better than we are , first 12 mins in braille was a nice touch also.
Hahaha bloody egg on the face after that one! Glad you enjoyed it, Demo 1 should do a fantastic job with it on Saturday night.
I have two questions: Will this race have a standing start or rolling start? As Peersy and Speedytyres have not posted a time, will I be starting 11th?
I will be setting a time tonight. I've no experience with these cars, but I expect to be lugging the fuel cart for everyone. Two headlight flashes for fuel top up next lap, one flash for right now. I will have BP98 and Shell V-Power available, only ice creams are Bubbal-o Bill but if enough interest I can get Zooper doopers for ease of consumption whilst driving. Cash or card is fine
The race will be a manual rolling start, similar to what we have seen from Jonos WET series in the past. Peersy, Speedy and Nemo will all be setting qualifying times still.
The following changes will be made to BOP. @SPye2_WAU is now a B rated driver, You are entitled to a 2% weight drop C Class race day BOP will be at -7% meaning that @Steve Neilson and @Blunty075 are entitled to a 2% weight drop. @Peersy you will still qualify at -5% and change also for the race.
