All driver briefings will be posted here.
Given all drivers are up with the rules and regs, as nothing has changed since last season, i wont ramble on !

Make sure you check for track specific info, especially hotspots, track limits and pit requirements.

3pm race start - Light Cloud / clear / Med Cloud / Heavy Cloud
    - Time progression - REAL
    - Compulsory pit stop - YES
    - Fuel : Real

    Welcome to season 15.
Hope we all have some great racing, yet again. We have some new drivers, so please do your best to help them out, and more importantly, race them cleanly.

Just some general info after a few weeks of testing in these 3 GT cars
    - All three cars get a little loose in the rear in the colder weather slots. Make sure you know when those slots are (from the regs) so you know what to expect.
    - The SOFT tyre could be an option as soon as the track temp gets down to around the 30* mark
    - You are allowed to mix and match tyre compounds (run hard and soft in any way you want - Hard front and soft rear or vice versa... All hard or all soft) Up to you.
    - The draft understeer is a thing in these cars, however being patient will stop it from being too big an issue. If behind someone and the pass isnt on, use the draft to set up a pass.
    - It would seem that all three cars have tracks that suit them.... In my testing i only found .1 or .2 difference between the cars and each had tracks that were slightly better on. I think over the season will be very even.

For our new drivers, this is where all the race info will be, if you have any questions, just reply below or send me a PM.

CAR SELECTION - Drivers may change their car choice after round 1 if they like, but from round 2 onwards you MUST remain in the same car for the remaining 6 rounds. Drivers are also required to run their team livery.

TRACK LIMITS - RACEONOZ uses the curbs to define track limits. If you have wheel on the curb or white line (which defines the track edge) then you are all good. If you run outside of these boundaries with intent to make time, make a pass or make the track shorter, you will be penalised. For 'lazy' track limit breaches we generally look at a 25 second penalty, however for deliberate breaches the penalty could be increased.

CONTACT - Very simply, dont crash into the guy ahead of you and then drive off ! If you make contact (front to rear) and you push another driver off track, you are expected to redress. If you think its a 50/50 call while making a pass then save your replay and pass the info onto the room captain, or mod team (me or Ad2mny) and we will have a look at it. PLEASE dont blow up in the room chat or on the forum. We have found incidents in the past that have looked very different for both drivers.

TRACK HOT SPOTS - Round 1 is always a bit of a hot round, and lap 1 round here can be messy if drivers dont use your heads. The run off the start line can be tight, so stay in your lane until the brake zone for turn 1. Then cars should be close to single file....and good to get through Eau Rouge
TURN 1 - Dont run up the arse of the car in front and drive off !
LES COOMBES - car does get loose here in the colder temps. Be aware !

TRACK LIMITS - Is a few spots here, mainly through Eau Rouge, the exit of Pouhon and Turn 18 (back straight) where you will need to remain in track limits. Drivers continually cutting and taking advantage will be penalised. If you see someone doing this, SAVE YOUR REPLAY and let the stewards know ASAP so we can rule on it. A mistake or 2 is ok, doing it repeatedly is not.

Compulsory pit stop - Drivers MUST make a compulsory pit stop at ANY time during the race. You are NOT required to take tyres, but may do if you wish.

    PIT ENTRY / EXIT
ENTRY - Make sure you dont spin and block the lane for others ! The lane is tight, so driving in too fast will create issues for you. Have seen a few guys half spin on the entry and then they were not able to get back out. Dont be that guy !

EXIT - The exit here is pretty straight forward. Cars on track have right of way on the exit of turn 1, however the car on the LEFT has right of way on the entry to Eau Rouge.

PROTESTS - As always, save your replay, and if there is an issue PLEASE let the mod team know. DO NOT blow up in the forum or on the mic after the race. You have until midnight Monday night to make us aware of your protest. Please remember that we have a hard stance on any abuse, so please do the right thing if you feel something needs to be looked at.

As @stucar17 mentioned, don't be that guy blocking the entry to the pits. Last night I was that guy. I went in too hot on the wrong line and got wedged in at right angles to the walls, and no amount of 3-point turn (300-point turn) attempts could shift me. I eventually got DQ'd which was a relief because I didn't want to cause troubles for others going into the pits. Thankfully it happened in a practice 5 lap race, not the real deal.

    ROUND 2. Imola - 8/6/21 - 26 laps
    2pm qual - Heavy Cloud
3pm race start - Med cloud / Light Cloud / overcast / heavy cloud
    - Time progression - REAL
    - Compulsory pit stop - YES

Ok guys and Gals.... On to round 2 at Imola...

Points from last weeks first round.
    - Thanks to everyone who showed up and raced. Unfortunately was a couple of disconnects .... hopefully doesnt happen every week, as full grids are where we get the best racing. From what i can tell, most drivers who were away for R1 will be there this week. Fingers crossed.
    - Driving standards seemed to be good, with no issues i have heard about.
    - Remember that the car you drive this week, is the car that you MUST drive for the remainder of the season. So yes, you can change from what your drove last week if you didnt like it, but no one can change cars again.
    - The PRO and AM servers mean that ALL drivers in your division are racing for first spot overall. The drivers in AM are also in their own separate championship. Its just a way to keep all drivers involved in a championship as the season moves on.

    - Had a question on Disconnects last week.... These are the general rules we follow..
QUAL DISCONNECT - If you get disconnected in qual BEFORE the 3 minute mark you should be able to get back in the room. You then have 3 mins (or about that) to try set a lap. If you get DSC AFTER 3 mins, the room host will finish Qual, and record the final positions. Then a new room will be set up for a rolling start, with drivers to line up in order of qualifying, the DSC driver to line up last. (if drivers agree, the DSC driver may line up in qual spot of they set a time before the DSC)

RACE DISCONNECT - If a driver DSC in the first 2 laps, the room should be restarted once, with a rolling start in Qual order.... 1 lap is to be added to the race distance. GIven we have drivers from NZ, please be aware that any more than 1 restart will make things too late for them, and others to have more than 1 restart.

TRACK HOT SPOTS - Is a fast and flowing track, but turns 2,3 and 4 (Tamburello) are a normal hotspot, along with the big stops into 7 and 17..Dont rear end anyone here and drive off !

    TRACK LIMITS -
Is a few spots at Imola where drivers can be caught out by track limits... Most corners self regulate, with sand
    - TURN 9 (Piratella) you must remain on the ripple strip on the exit (right side of track)
    - TURN 12 (bottom of the hill) drivers must remain on the ripple strip on the run back up the hill.
    - TRACK LIMIT EXCEPTION - Variana Alta chicane... drivers MAY run to the edge of the green syn grass on exit. YOu MUST have 2 wheels on the green though to stay iin track limits.

ENTRY - Very simple entry, just be aware of cars around you when you go to the lane, and also where you brake for the control line.

EXIT - The exit here is pretty straight forward. Cars on track have right of way on the entry to turn 2 if there is any overlap. Cars exiting MUST remain right on the run into turn 2.

    - Remember that the car you drive last week, is the car that you MUST drive for the remainder of the season.
    - The PRO and AM servers mean that ALL drivers in your division are racing for first spot overall. The drivers in AM are also in their own separate championship. Its just a way to keep all drivers involved in a championship as the season moves on.

    SPECIFIC POINTS for wet round
    - Pit lane open for Qual as normal. If you are game you can come in and try slicks on the wet track.
    - The track will get wet from about lap 19.... track will also cool out from about lap 13... Will be tough !

    - Had a question on Disconnects last week.... These are the general rules we follow..

TRACK HOT SPOTS - IS a lot of spots here that will be tough, especially in the rain !
    - Turns 1/3/4 is tough
    - Turn 6 Hairpin
    - Turns 9 and 11... Easy to out brake yourself and hit someone in front !

    TRACK LIMITS -
Is a few spots at Algarve where drivers can be caught out by track limits...
    - TURN 1 . Drivers must not run to the left side of the ripple strip
    - TURN 5. onto back straight... Must not run to the right of the ripple strip on exit.
    - Turn 14. Must stay on ripple strip on exit for run onto front straight

Drivers continually cutting and taking advantage will be penalised. If you see someone doing this, SAVE YOUR REPLAY and let the stewards know ASAP so we can rule on it. A mistake or 2 is ok, doing it repeatedly is not.

Points from last weeks first round.

    - Three rounds in and no protests !
Just wanted to say well done to everyone for racing (it would seem) really clean.
    - Seems that all the cars have strengths and weaknesses, has been some great racing....

TRACK HOT SPOTS - Is a fast and flowing track, Obviously turn 1 with the heavy braking is a hot spot. Be prepared to bail to the right or left if you look like you are about to take another driver out. The second hotspot is the brake zone for the turn 13/14 chicane.

    TRACK LIMITS -
Is a few spots at Nurburg GP where drivers can be caught out by track limits. Most corners self regulate, with sand.
    - TURNS 2 and 3, drivers must remain on the ripple strip on exit on the entry to 3
    - TURN 4 EXIT - Its easy here to run wide and be on the left of the ripple strip.
    - TURN 10 EXIT - Be aware if you run wide here, you will impact drivers on the entry to turn 11. There is no advantage to running wide on the exit of 10, as it will hinder and slow your entry for the back straight.

Drivers continually cutting and taking advantage will be penalised. If you see someone doing this, SAVE YOUR REPLAY and let the stewards know ASAP so we can rule on it. A mistake or 2 is ok, doing it repeatedly is not.

Ok guys and Gals..... Time for the sprint round, for our new drivers, 2 races, with the 2nd race is a full reverse grid.
Given how close the cars are in terms of performance, should give some close and exciting racing.
Details of how the sprint round works will be detailed below.

Points from last weeks first round.
    - 4 rounds in and no protests !
Just wanted to say well done to everyone for racing (it would seem) really clean.
    - Seems that all the cars have strengths and weaknesses, has been some great racing....

PLEASE dont blow up in the room chat or on the forum. We have found incidents in the past that have looked very different for both drivers.

TRACK HOT SPOTS - Is a fast and flowing track, Obviously turn 1 with the heavy braking is a hot spot after such a long main straight. Be prepared to bail to the right or left if you look like you are about to take another driver out. The second hotspot is the brake zone for turn 5, a hard braking zone into a sharp 1st gear corner.

    TRACK LIMITS -

Is a few spots at Road America where drivers can be caught out by track limits. Most corners self regulate, with sand, or grass run offs, and the curbs are pretty brutal -
    - TURN 1 EXIT - Its easy here to run wide and be on the left of the ripple strip.

    - TURN 8 EXIT - Is easy to run wide, to the right of the ripple strip, however it will slow your entry to the carousel.
    - TURN 12 EXIT - Must stay on or to the right of the ripple strip on exit.

Drivers continually cutting and taking advantage will be penalised. If you see someone doing this, SAVE YOUR REPLAY and let the stewards know ASAP so we can rule on it. A mistake or 2 is ok, doing it repeatedly is not.

    SPRINT ROUND FORMAT
    - QUALIFYING - Usual 10 minute format
    -
RACE 1 - Drivers will race in qualifying order, normal race start, NO PIT STOP and first past the post wins (pending any possible protests)

    - RACE 2 - There will be 1 lap added to the race length (NOW 13 LAPS) and the host will start the race. Drivers will use the first lap as a way of getting all drivers in reverse grid, from the first race. Once drivers are in in reverse order, the lead driver will lead the field around the lap in SINGLE FILE.
    - FROM TURN 12, the lead driver will slow to 100KLM, and the race will START on the exit of TURN 14. This is the easiest way to stop carnage at turn 1, and get everyone through lap 1 cleanly.
    -
POINTS - 1 point for pole / 1 point fastest lap / full points race 1, 1/2 points race 2
Points are combined from races 1 and 2 to find the overall winner, and then round points are allocated as normal based on those combined points. In the event of equal points, the driver who had the higher finishing position in race 1 will finish higher overall.

Compulsory pit stop - N/A for the sprint round.

Ok all, a few things to raise before this weeks race.
    - was a couple of protests this week in div 1, all were legitimate, and have been ruled on. Details will be up in the stewards group thread, along with the reasoning as to how we came to our decision. Thanks to the guys involved for their patience

CAR RESETS - I hadn't included the car reset rule in the driver briefings this season, and i should have !
ROOZ rules are that the only time your car can be 'reset' is if your car is upside down, or stuck on a tyre barrier, and not able to move. At that stage you may reset, in the interest of having all cars on track and racing. You must do this safely so it doesn't impede any other driver.

    BLOCKING -
Have heard reports of a few instances of blocking.... Drivers may change direction ONCE only, and then hold that line. You are NOT permitted to swerve from side to side to stop someone from attempting a pass.

REJOINING THE TRACK - A reminder that if you go off track you must take care when re-joining. Try to be aware of cars coming on the map, and staying off the race line until back up to 'race' speed.

RACE QUITTING - If things arent going your way, please dont quit the room. It makes the room unstable, and can effect other peoples races. If you feel the need to stop, please either park up in the pits, or on track in a spot that wont effect others.

On to the Zolder round. Is a great track for these cars, but the curbs can be brutal in some parts..... Drivers will also need to be aware of track limits in the chicanes, and possible 'hot spots' for spins and drivers recovering.

    - DISCONNECTS ....

TRACK HOT SPOTS - Is a fast and flowing track, Turn 1 on lap 1 can be interesting so give room off the start... The rest of the first lap should be ok, so long as cars are sorted before the first chicane.

    - First chicane (Turn 5) .... Cars should be braking at about the 100m mark, drivers will have to watch for cars that get it wrong and 'bounce' through the chicane....Its generally a slow spin, but drivers still need to watch
    - Second chicane (Turns 7) Easy to spin when you bounce of the
    sausage.
    -
Turn 10 chicane - complicated by the pit entry, if you are going into the pits, make sure you dont hit a car in front who is braking for the normal run into Turn 10. Drivers who 'rear end' the car in front will be penalised.

    TRACK LIMITS -

Is a few spots at Zolder where drivers can be caught out by track limits. Most corners self regulate, with sand, or grass run offs, and the curbs are pretty brutal -
    - Chicane 1 - Regulates itself pretty well, bounce off the curbs there (straightline) and you will get caught out spinning with how big those curbs are.
    - Chicane 2 - This is easy to cut when you get the entry wrong. The ripple strips here are large, so normal rules apply, 2 tyres on the ripple is considered track.
    - Turn 10 - is easy to cut, here and drivers have been penalised for cutting in previous seasons. Both on entry and exit.

Drivers continually cutting and taking advantage will be penalised. If you see someone doing this, SAVE YOUR REPLAY and let the stewards know ASAP so we can rule on it. A mistake or 2 is ok, doing it repeatedly is not.

PIT ENTRY - This is tricky ! Cars entering the lane miss the turn 10 brake zone. make sure you do a few entries so you know how to get into the lane. Drivers who are entering the lane have responsibility to NOT make contact with cars braking for turn 10
PIT EXIT - Is also tricky... Cars exiting dont have to remain in the exit lines, however if there is contact before the pit exit line finishes, then the car exiting will be in the wrong if contact is OUTSIDE those lines. If cars are side by side on the entry to turn 2, then normal race rules will apply

Compulsory pit stop - Pit lane open from lap 1.

Can you believe its the last round this weekend already !

Wanted to say thanks to everyone who has raced every week, been a great season with very few issues so thanks.
To everyone fighting for the championship, good luck ! For those that may have missed it, tables linked below.....
    http://raceonoz.com/forums/index.php?threads/season-15-championship-tables-results.4453/

    So, onto the final round....

RACE QUITTING - If things aren't going your way, please don't quit the room. It makes the room unstable, and can effect other peoples races. If you feel the need to stop, please either park up in the pits, or on track in a spot that wont effect others.

    - DISCONNECTS .... These are the general rules we follow..
QUAL DISCONNECT - If you get disconnected in qual BEFORE the 3 minute mark you should be able to get back in the room. You then have 3 mins (or about that) to try set a lap. TRACK HOT SPOTS - Is a fast and flowing track, Turn 1 on lap 1 can be interesting so give room off the start... The rest of the first lap should be ok, so long as cars are sorted before the Bustop.

    - Bus stop chicane, dont rear end anyone, and look for cars spinning in front of you
    - Braking zone into 'The Heel'.... is pretty fast so give room if needed

    TRACK LIMITS -

Is a few spots at Zolder where drivers can be caught out by track limits. Most corners self regulate, with sand, or grass run offs, and the curbs are pretty brutal -
    - EXIT TURN 1 - Very easy to run wide and use the left of the ripple strip. Will be watching for that.
    - BUS STOP - Anyone intentionally cutting here will be penalised. If you make a pass and gain advantage, please redress.
    - EXIT of "HEEL" - Must stay on or to the right of the ripple strip.

Drivers continually cutting and taking advantage will be penalised. If you see someone doing this, SAVE YOUR REPLAY and let the stewards know ASAP so we can rule on it. A mistake or 2 is ok, doing it repeatedly is not.

PIT ENTRY - Pretty simple, drivers entering the pits should stay right on entry through the lane lines. DONT cut across and cut other cars off.
PIT EXIT - Again pretty simple coming out, just be aware of cars on a race lap through turns 2 and 3

Compulsory pit stop - Pit lane open from lap 1.
    - FUEL - From what i have seen last night the Audi and Lambo both start on approx 68L of fuel .... 'MY' fuel rate is 'about' 2.71L per lap, so over 52 laps 'MY' Audi will need approx 144L to get home, so if i 1 stop, ill need to add approx 76L. To be safe i would add 80L in your stop, if you dont know what your fuel burn rate is.
    - TYRES - I cant speak for all the cars, but in the testing i did last night, the soft tyre is not a long term option in the Audi. It feels ok in the night and foggy weather slots, but i suppose it comes down to whether you are going to do 1 or 2 stops to spread the fuel ... Entirely up to you !

PROTESTS - As always, save your replay, and if there is an issue PLEASE let the mod team know. DO NOT blow up in the forum or on the mic after the race. Good luck guys, we will check before race start as to teh size of the rooms, and then merge if we need to to make a full grid..... 'IF' we merge, we will qual as normal, and set up as a normal grid..... Just be aware of those around you and how contact with a car from another div might effect their championship.

    Cheers Stu
