Got a blinder of a start and made up a coupe of spots before turn 1, this time staying assertive. Made my way up to 4th by end of lap 3 (?) and held for most of the race. I was effectively passed in the pits though and ended up 6th overall, two places up from quali. Thankfully no offs and some good racing with @Hatfield at the end.
Yeah, I was behind ya when I saw you spin - that slight touch on the green stuff I guess threw your back end out. Very unfortunate. Not a great race for myself last night, couldn't find the rhythm of the track in the car, I thought I had it, but it just felt off for most of the race. My own doing, I should have done some more practice, but being crook I didn't have a lot of PS Time. Well done to the podium on an excellent race. Well done to my team for giving it their best effort last night, awesome work.
Just over half-way through the series and team points are looking very close, which is great to see. As usual, Success Ballast after round 5 is below, but I've also put together some mid-season Team and car stats for you perusal. Not surprising perhaps to see the Corvette topping the car stats, but also bear in mind this has been selected as the 4th car 9 times vs 6 and 5 times for the Mustang and M3 respectively, so results are slightly skewed for now. Also a reminder that for the 4th car, each team can run each car a maximum of 3 times with current totals below.
Sorry everyone I am out for tomorrow. I have to do something with the Gran Turismo staff tomorrow night. Mostly likely setting up stuff for the GR GT cup world finals event. Anyway good luck to everyone
Confirmed drivers and ballast for Round 6 Red Bull Ring Thanks @NAACS and @Blunty075 for filling in as reserves for this round
Round 6 will be the Reserves Special! Some more driver changes (or options) Thanks to @Rangeraus and @SpeedyTyres for stepping in as reserves last minute
Qualifying: Made a bit of a mess of Turn 3 (Realistically Turn 2), besides that the lap was pretty good and got me P5. Race: At the start, through a combination of over-aggressiveness and lag, there was a few bumps and squeezes which saw me take P2 heading into turn 4, apologies to anyone involved in any incidents. From there I closed the gap to Rolls, being one of the only ones to start on softs and go for the alternate strategy. Had a few battles with Rolls until the latter part of the first stint whereby my tyre performance fell drastically. On the mediums, I got passed by boneslightning who would, unfortunately for him, spin off later on. Finally, in the last few laps Gtking was chipping away slowly at the gap but could not make significant progress as his softs began to fall away, allowing me to claim P2 and my first podium in all of Rooz. Finished a way off the win at 24s back but don't think I could have done much better considering I had 10% more ballast than Rolls so I'm still quite pleased with that, cheers for the race.
