The Admin team has decided that all things considered it is best to ban the use of the 2022 BMW M4 GT3 for the upcoming ACC PC 2022 Season 1 (22S1). Please note that at this time we are only banning the vehicle from 22S1 (starting on the 24th Jan 2022). We can still do special events and other races with that car. We hope that a better solution to this issue is found soon so that we can use this car in future Seasons. These are the reasons for banning the 2022 BMW M4 GT3: it is well known that this car is not currently correct resulting in the car having an unfair advantage it is well known that GT3 BoP is a very complex system ballast is a simple system used as a leveler generally for drivers rather than for a car type or make no-one really knows whether adding ballast of up to 30kg will be effective at fixing the issue with this car we do not have the time or resources to conduct extensive testing of ballast or find other possible solutions allowing a known unbalanced car to be used in a season with the use of only an unverifiable 'kludge' to fix it's issues is likely to throw a shadow over the entire season and risk having results called into question Kunos themselves acknowledge that this car's performance in ACC is not correct and are therefore consulting with BMW on addressing the issue
We were going to do that but then realised that you would want to drive it so we had no choice but to ban it. That makes it your fault
We'll be posting up the full season details in the forum soon but you can find some details in Discord here: https://discord.com/channels/203108309580906497/762515272975515658 The Discord post includes a link to the Season registration on SimGrid: https://www.thesimgrid.com/championships/803 If you haven't yet signed up to SimGrid itself it's easy.
