So if I've only run the softs or mediums and then it happens to be raining for the rest of the race so no opportunity to run both mandatory tyres is that going to mean a 1min penalty or DSQ?

Knew I'd forgotten something! Should there be rain on the indicator at ANY stage during the race, the tire rule becomes null and void. Rain will be classed as when the indicator on the bottom left of the screen acknowledges surface water.

So the lobby should be set up WITHOUT mandatory tyres selected then and we just enforce that rule manually?

Qualified 3rd, managed to put a single lap together without yeeting myself in to a nearby grandstand for the first time all day.

Race start was sluggish, helped Hatfield over towards Kartdude to protect my space, something something front two got in a tangle, the seas parted around the outside and through i went. Hatfield did hatfield things by keeping Siryc behind him for 6-7 laps, built up a lead and held on.

Hi all, a few changes for next week

Flag Rules have been changed to On. This is to ensure drivers getting lapped are aware of the blue flags being displayed to them, as well as forewarning for incidents ahead.

The tire rule has been re evaluated in the event of rain and will OFFICIALLY be as follows:
    - For any given round (barring the sprint round which will be Softs only), The tire allocation will be RM, RS, Inters and Wets. Two of these compounds must be used in every race, e.g RM and RS or RS and Wet. However should a race begin in wet conditions (Wet/Inter tires being optimally used), tires may be used freely. These rules are up to interpretation by the Stewards only, and are subject to appeal by any active driver in a session.

    Thanks all.

The plan was to trundle around the track and have some fun this week, however my competitive spirit kicked in once I realised I had some pace in this car (abelite with TC turned on). With it off, this car is dreadful in slow speed corners..
Qualified well down the mid pack, but due to the T1 incident, I managed to sneak through into the top 4 or 5.
Kept it nice and clean and watched @Hatfield keep @Siryc at bay with classic my car is wider than your car methods :)
Hat and Siryc were keeping each other company, so close in fact that something happened at the chicane that slowed Hat down on the exit and I had no where to go bar to bump him along. This cost me speed and @Apex_64 came up from behind and we went 2 abreast into the final turn. It was here that I got turned around, dropping to almost dead last.
This put a rocket under my arse and I set about surging through the field.
I finally found pace in this car, slotting in several 56's and low 57's and made my way through the field, wanting to catch back up to the leaders (bar @xlxy90 who had sailed off into the distance... :) ) .
I was just about on Apex's tail when he decided to turn right on a left hander into BarryR, gifting me 3rd place. I was then on the hunt for @Kartdude45, and was catching fast, however a spin at the Chicane costing me a possible 2nd place finish.

At the end of the day, I'm happy with 3rd place, however I could have been playing for top spot, had incidents and slips and trips not happened.
I "MAY" be racing this coming week (fly out Monday night), but do not count on it and definitely not here until Round 7.

I had a nightmare in qualifying and decided to start on mediums.
The nightmare only grew worse as this car is terrible on the medium tyres!
My first 11 laps were atrocious, including an absolutely massive balls up at T1 where I slammed into the back of @UrsineSaturn9 (sorry about that one mate). I did redress and was almost last at this point.
Managed to get to the end of lap 11 and pitted for softs. The car came to life almost immediately and I started setting reasonable times (for me anyway). Worked my way past a few drivers who were obviously on mediums at this point, and managed to get past Apex a few laps from home. Got close to @Matthyus after his spin, but not enough laps left to do much.
Pretty happy with 4th considering all that went on!

No dramas mate, don't think the 5 or so seconds lost there would have made a difference to the outcome of this race. Struggled with this combo with my soft times struggling to meet others medium times. Too gentle on the corner exits costing me time out of fear of losing the back end, maybe should be revving it more too (got 15 laps on first stint and 1 lap fuel left at the end).

I was far too aggressive on my exit speeds, twice I spun like a top. Either I need more practice in the car, or the car has an invisible, no feeling edge, that can bite with virtually no warning and no time to counter steer it.
Was good to be back but I forgot how long 45mins can be, and I was very race rusty. Apologies to anyone I may have impacted.
Congratulations to XLXY, Kartdude & Matthyus.

I surprised myself for pace to qualify 5th, and off the start I almost went alongside the slow starting @xlxy90 until he smartly moved over and @Kartdude45 was in my path.
I went to the outside instead and ended up 2nd after @Apex_64 & @Siryc had their contact, and then I just tried staying with xl until he begun the gapping.
Eventually Siryc caught back up, and I knew defensive driving would begin.
I kept him behind for a number of laps, surviving a few accidental taps, until one tap was too much for me to handle and around I went. (all taps were redressed)
In my frustration I had another off track excursion but continued on trying to catch up to anyone ahead.
Finishing 6th is probably what I deserved if all drivers had made no errors.

Siryc, I understand your frustration at having pole and not making it to turn 2 in the lead, then getting stuck behind a slower driver.
I also understand that your lines were different from mine (a part of why you were faster).
I appreciate that you apologised immediately and redressed.
You said at the time you shouldn't have been there (I assume meaning you should've been at the front of the field) but racing happened, and you ended up behind me. It is then up to you to adjust your driving to make the clean pass.
I hope we see you on track next week, as I would hate to see one bad round be the only race you do here.
If it helps we could look at moving you up to the top room (I think we have a driver in there who needs to move down a division anyway)

Yep letting the frustration of being half spun at the first corner in my first race here and ending up first to 8th was less then ideal. Should of handled it better.
As for us racing, it's unfortunate I made a small mistake costing both of us. I thought you would of had the pace for a possible podium had you just run your own race with what happened behind us, but unfortunately for us both it didn't work out like that.

    Round 2: 30/07 - Deep Forest Raceway Sprint Round - 2x 16 Laps - Early Morning / Afternoon - 5x

WELCOME to Season 6 for Gran Turismo 7!!
As always please take a couple minutes to read the following so you have an understanding of what is expected on race night.
If you have any questions, or want clarification on any of the rules or regulations please ask!

    ROOM OPEN:
Room captains may have practice rooms open beforehand but should have the official room up by 7:30pm AEST. Please be on time, or let the room captain or div thread know if you may be late. If all agree, the room may wait for you, Within reason. Please remember we have drivers from NZ, and later starts mean a much later night for them.

    SIGHT ISSUES:
Before qualifying, exit to lobby and spend 30 seconds in spectate mode, scroll through the list of drivers on track and make sure that you can see their car. If you can't see somebody (and they are confirmed as being on track), exit the lobby, re-join, and check again. Type the number of cars you can see in the lobby chat and cross check with other drivers to ensure clarity.

    QUALIFYING : 8pm AEST for 10 mins.
Feel free to run practice laps prior to qualifying, The host will trigger a 'Room Reset' closer to the commencement of Qualifying.

    PITS ARE OPEN DURING QUALIFYING

RACE START TIME : 8:15pm AEST & Approx 8:45pm AEST

    LAG ISSUES / ROOM RESTARTS:
This is up to the room host/captains. If there is a Disconnection (or cars stuck on grid) at race start, it is sporting to try to get them back in, which may mean a new room to be set up. I would suggest only having 1 restart if required due to DSC, due to having to set up the room from scratch and also having to set timed laps in order to set the grid. Please be as reasonable as you can with this....

    TURN 1 LAP 1:
The old saying goes, you can’t win the race on lap 1, but you can definitely lose it. Please be mindful of other drivers on lap 1 coming into turn 1, and for that matter, the entire race. It can be very demoralizing to hot lap on your own for 45 minutes as I'm sure many of you are aware.

    TRACK LIMITS:
As we are running with 'track limit penalties" OFF, we will run with our usual Raceonoz track limit regulations. This means you MUST have at least 2 wheels on the ripple strip OR white line that defines the track limit. If you do make a mistake and have to run outside the limits, be aware that you are not allowed to gain any advantage, position or time wise. Track Limits protests may be launched by any active driver in the race.

Track Limits will be monitored generally around the entire circuit, with a keen focus tonight on overtakes completed OUTSIDE TRACK LIMITS. Track Limits will still be defined as two wheels on the kerb, or white line, whichever is furthest out.

The exit of Turn 10 is free game.

    CONTACT:
Is to be avoided at all times..... If you make contact with someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Occasionally, Gran Turismo track limits may teleport a disadvantaged driver backwards on circuit to ‘reset’ them, if this occurs at the hand of another driver, IT IS EXPECTED that the driver at fault will wait and redress the position.
Side by side 'rubbing' is racing is allowed and promoted within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room. For clarity surrounding racing room, please feel free to PM @Viperzed
Show each other RESPECT! It is difficult enough to drive the car at the limit on your own, without someone squeezing you within a millimeter of the grass.
So be patient and show respect to your fellow drivers.
If you are redressing contact, please do so out of the way of other cars, off the racing line, or if there isn't much room, off track.

    PIT ENTRY/EXIT LINES:
Pit Line Penalties are ON so you will be penalised in game if you cut any part of the entry or exit lines. Be mindful entering the pits that the lines are tight and the chicane in entry can be very misleading. You may receive a penalty for overstepping the mark on entry. On pit exit, cars exiting the lane are to stay drivers left if they are rejoining in traffic.

    BLUE FLAGS:
Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

    STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS:
This season, the Head Steward will be @Viperzed. If you have reason to protest, please SAVE YOUR REPLAY, and then let him know via a PM.
DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE FORUM OR IN THE ROOM CHAT. There have been multiple incidents where the replays from drivers have been different, so its true that sometimes things are not as black and white as they may seem. You have until MIDNIGHT, Monday night to register your protest via PM. Stewards may ask for video evidence from both drivers or room captains to make any decision.

    SAVE YOUR REPLAY:
If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved!

    PARKING UP:
If you are unable to continue to race, please enter the pits and leave your game paused without selecting tyres so that your car stays parked in the pits. Parking up off track activates yellow flags in the sector, and even though penalties are off, we have reports of penalties occurring for passes happening near the parked car. Quitting off track results in a sometimes race ending lag spike and may be punished in extreme scenarios.

    ATTENDANCE:
Could all drivers please inform Room Captains or make a post on the division thread if they do not intend on racing on Sunday night, Room Captains/ Lobby Hosts are advised not to wait for anyone who has not communicated their intentions. If you do not post in your room thread or psn chat that you cannot attend, a spot may not be held for you for the following weeks race.

    TRACK SPECIFIC - Deep Forest

Deep Forest is a Gran Turismo classic currently built with a modern GT7 twist. It is a community favourite which often produces stellar racing. Remember that Turn 10 can be fully extended, the hairpin may be looked at for extensions on exit.

There is NO MANDATORY PIT STOP OR TIRE CHANGE for this round. As this is the sprint round, you are free to run whichever tire you like for as long as you like, without needing to pit. Keep an eye on the fuel gauge!
