Well my rig was finally ready to pick up on Friday. Hopefully I can spend some time setting it up this weekend between some chores and practice for Sunday's GT5 race... of which I have done ZERO this week!. (still posting on the old PC ATM)

Haha sorry Beau I had to laugh at that first blown engine. What a rip for you.
That's one thing I loved about rFactor, especially racing the historix escorts. The guys who thrashed it too hard wouldn't necessarily finish the race!

Hopefully I'll be out on the track with you shortly, I hope you haven't advanced too much or I won't get to run against you for a while..

Here's some highlights of my first ever v8 supercar race. Not a great result. But I enjoyed it none the less.
I was executing my plan perfectly (just finish cleanly) until I got tangled up in other drivers mess.
In the end I had to limp a sore car home for the final lap. I copped a serve from the guy who tried to overtake me,last lap last corner. Personally I thought I defended beautifully. I guess he thought it was a foul move. Not sure what his interpretation of "Motor Racing" is, but I'm guessing he's a labour supporter too. Frigging pansy.

    EDIT: Forgot the link.

Heres a highlight vid of my first v8 win last night. I started in third, and got off to a slow start. I bleed about 5 seconds to the leader. (the blimp view shows the gap at its greatest). So for about 20 laps I clawed my way back into contention, and took the lead on about lap 20 or so. Then I made a slight error which put be back into 2nd, with about another 2 seconds to make back in the last 4 laps. We went bumper to bumper for a bit, then I made my move on the last corner of the last lap.
Please excuse my amateur launch at the start. It was only my second time launching the thing.

I really struggled with iracing when I st started, it was my 1st real sim though. I swear it used to be so hard when the solitice was the default rookie the track felt alot more like an ice skating rink than it does it now. Kinda makes me gutted to hear ppl do so well there 1st race :( I have to use auto blip and clutch (no clutch pedal)_

Glad ya like it though, I think the only chance I'll have to beat you guys is on ovals  Now tell me about your oval races koastr :p

Add me http://members.iracing.com/membersite/m ... erStats.do that goes for carns and Chev too

I wish my first few iracing races were as clean as yours koastr. I've had people doing some retarded :):):):) and I always get caught up in it. After 10 races I havnt got my Sr above 3. It's becoming a bit of a joke.

I qualified first so started 2nd on the grid first race, and 4th on the grid second. Although I didn't requalify for the 2nd race and I certainly could have posted a better time by then. I think qualifying helped alot so you start in front of the drivers who might go spastic.

I was a bit lucky in the first race. The cars we were lapping were spinning left right and centre. There was a couple of occassions where a few seconds later and I might have been caught up in someone elses retard moment....

DEFINITELY need to qualify. Even racing in the higher forms of racing and to some degree in real life. Mid pack is not where you want to be in the opening laps. That's where the crap happens you could say. So if you qualify on the front row you definitely have much more of a chance of having a clean race. Basically like all forms of motorsport really.

Koastr and mad, I have qualified in the top 5 for every race I've been in almost. It's NEVER the guys ahead of me who are the problem, its always the backrunners that I'm lapping that take me out. I was 15 laps into an mx5 race lastnight, in 2nd chasing down 1st. A guy who was a lap behind spun off in the distance, he sat there for a bit, waited for the leader to pass then reversed straight out in front of me. I had nowhere to go so I t-boned him. Destroyed my car and rage quit. That has happened maybe 3 times, and I lose Sr every time.

Oh man that sucks Chev, and I have seen how easily that can happen, as I said, I was lucky not to be also taken out a couple of times by back runners.

Having said that I looked ahead approached the back runners with ultra-caution, and the extra room I allowed for the unexpected was perhaps my saviour on occasion. But sometimes I know there's just nothing you can do. Hope your luck improves.
