Outdid myself in all aspects of my race tonight.
Qualified a full second faster than I had ever done in practice (100+ laps over the 2 weeks) and I had managed some 59's with most in the 00's.
First lap, I managed to kind of stick with the pack in front, until the chicane and I was well out of the slip stream (no idea how anyone managed to go through that thing with any pace, every time I tried in practice, I spun.. So I stuck to my lines and didn't spin there once!
By this time the few people I managed to jump at the start had reeled me in and
@groover33 and I had a good solid battle for 10 or so laps (the most exciting part of the night), but after 1 too many wiggles, Groover got the run on me and I never saw another car again. Well aside from Tanq and Nemo, who had crashed and then called it a night.
I also tried my best to keep my lap times consistent (something I really need to work on in this car), which for the most part I was able too. However I also wanted to try and constantly improve my lap times, of which I was able to do and almost beat my own FL on the last few laps.
There was several goals tonight:
1. Top 10 finish
2. No major off road lawnmowing / Sand castle excursions
3. Don't get lapped.
I managed the first 2, Thanks Nemo
Tried as I much as I could to not get lapped, but Jeeeeesh was just too fast, lapping between 2 to 3s a lap faster, he caught me with only a few laps to go and finished about 8s up the road.
There is a feeling there, with me having a pretty good race with no major off road trips and a pretty much clear road in front of me, that I was still getting lapped.
