WELCOME to Season 9 for RaceOnOz GT7!
Please take a couple minutes to read the following so you have an understanding of what is expected on race night.
If you have any questions, or want clarification on any of the rules or regulations please ask!

    ROOM OPEN:
Room captains may have practice rooms open beforehand but should have the official room up by 7pm AEST. Please be on time, or let the room captain or div thread know if you may be late. If all agree, the room may wait for you, Within reason. Please remember we have drivers from NZ, and later starts mean a much later night for them.

    SIGHT ISSUES:
Before qualifying, exit to lobby and spend 30 seconds in spectate mode, scroll through the list of drivers on track and make sure that you can see their car. If you can't see somebody (and they are confirmed as being on track), exit the lobby, re-join, and check again. Type the number of cars you can see in the lobby chat and cross check with other drivers to ensure clarity.

    QUALIFYING : 7:30pm AEST for 10 mins.
Feel free to run practice laps prior to qualifying, The host will trigger a 'Room Reset' closer to the commencement of Qualifying.

    PITS ARE OPEN DURING QUALIFYING

RACE START TIME : 7:45pm AEST

    LAG ISSUES / ROOM RESTARTS:
This is up to the room host/captains. If there is a Disconnection (or cars stuck on grid) at race start, it is sporting to try to get them back in, which may mean a new room to be set up. I would suggest only having 1 restart if required due to DSC, due to having to set up the room from scratch and also having to set timed laps in order to set the grid. Please be as reasonable as you can with this....

    Race Start - Rolling Start
For the first time EVER, we are trialling a manually operated double file rolling start in Sunday League. Below you'll find a quick run through on how this will work on the night.

Drivers will set off from the grid in a sensible manner, beginning their formation SECTOR. Drivers are to maintain side by side formation for the duration of the starting process with NO WEAVING ALLOWED. The speed of the polesitter during this section is totally up to them, however exiting T5, the polesitter MUST hold 100kph (or similar). The field must not accelerate and brake erratically after this point. It is reccomended for cars to maintain one car length to the row ahead, stay perfectly alligned with the car next to you (radar is perfect for this!). The field MUST be set by the start zone. The "start zone" is a theoretical set of lines between which the start of the race may occur, triggered by the polesitter accelerating to race speed. The first line is across the circuit, adjacent to the light pole on the right hand side of the circuit, a few hundred meters after T6. At any point after this line has been crossed by the pole sitter, the race may begin. The second line is in line with the end of the trees on the left of the circuit. If the polesitter reaches the second line and hasn't yet elected to accelerate, the race will begin automatically. Any drivers who fail to obey starting procedure and hold up the lobby by accelerating away at the standing start will receive ONE WARNING over the season, after which they will be sent to the rear of the grid for each breach. Any major issues will require a restart of the race. The race starts will be under the jurisdiction of the Room Captain/s and only they may call for a Red Flag/Restart unless stated prior.

    TURN 1 LAP 1:
The old saying goes, you can’t win the race on lap 1, but you can definitely lose it. Please be mindful of other drivers on lap 1 coming into turn 1, and for that matter, the entire race. It can be very demoralizing to hot lap on your own for 45 minutes as I'm sure many of you are aware.

    TRACK LIMITS:
As we are running with 'track limit penalties" OFF, we will run with our usual Raceonoz track limit regulations. This means you MUST have at least 2 wheels on the ripple strip OR white line that defines the track limit. If you do make a mistake and have to run outside the limits, be aware that you are not allowed to gain any advantage, position or time wise. Track Limits protests may be launched by any active driver in the race.

Track Limits will be monitored at EVERY SINGLE CORNER around the circuit. Track limits will be defined as two wheels on the kerb, or white line, whichever is further out. Le Mans is an absolute fiend for track limits, especially at night, I do not want to see anyone exploiting these limits!

    CONTACT:
Is to be avoided at all times..... If you make contact with someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Occasionally, Gran Turismo track limits may teleport a disadvantaged driver backwards on circuit to ‘reset’ them, if this occurs at the hand of another driver, IT IS EXPECTED that the driver at fault will wait and redress the position.
Side by side 'rubbing' is racing is allowed and promoted within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room. For clarity surrounding racing room, please feel free to PM @Viperzed
Show each other RESPECT! It is difficult enough to drive the car at the limit on your own, without someone squeezing you within a millimeter of the grass.
So be patient and show respect to your fellow drivers.
If you are redressing contact, please do so out of the way of other cars, off the racing line, or if there isn't much room, off track.

    PIT ENTRY/EXIT LINES:
Pit Line Penalties are ON so you will be penalised in game if you cut any part of the entry or exit lines. Be mindful entering the pits that you need to commit to entry prior to the Ford Chicanes, as well as navigating a chicane within the lane. You may receive a penalty for misjudging your line on entry. Be mindful not to impede other cars on your way in. On pit exit, cars exiting the lane are reminded to keep drivers right if there are any cars approaching, you will have to give them space.

    BLUE FLAGS:
Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

    STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS:
This season, the Head Steward will be @Viperzed. If you have reason to protest, please SAVE YOUR REPLAY, and then let him know via a PM.
DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE FORUM OR IN THE ROOM CHAT. There have been multiple incidents where the replays from drivers have been different, so its true that sometimes things are not as black and white as they may seem. You have until MIDNIGHT, Monday night to register your protest via PM. Stewards may ask for video evidence from both drivers or room captains to make any decision.

    SAVE YOUR REPLAY:
If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved!

    PARKING UP:
If you are unable to continue to race, please enter the pits and leave your game paused without selecting tyres so that your car stays parked in the pits. Parking up off track activates yellow flags in the sector, and even though penalties are off, we have reports of penalties occurring for passes happening near the parked car. Quitting off track results in a sometimes race ending lag spike and may be punished in extreme scenarios.

    ATTENDANCE:
Could all drivers please inform Room Captains or make a post on the division thread if they do not intend on racing on Sunday night, Room Captains/ Lobby Hosts are advised not to wait for anyone who has not communicated their intentions. If you do not post in your room thread or psn chat that you cannot attend, a spot may not be held for you for the following weeks race.

    TRACK SPECIFIC - Le Mans
A place where the GT One should truly feel at home, our mid season point is at none other than Circuit de la Sarthe, with a full 24hr Cycle planned for each div. Being the enduro, drivers will have to maintain concentration all through the night, as this round provides a huge opportunity to make your mark on the season!

Rolling starts are a little different this round so please pay attention to the briefing so there are no errors.

If the Room Captains could also please include a rough time for the go point (when the pole sitter starts the race) that would assist in the Race Results.

Very mixed night for me. I had done considerable practice with the week off so was really looking forward to a good race. I let myself down in qually again, my first flying lap had me pole but I couldn't improve as others did on the second flying lap so fell back to 6th on the grid. Better than the last two races though and with an hour and half to attack I was looking forward to the race.
I made up places at the start to move to 3rd but then @Ozglenn and @Bluemoon got stuck into me and we battled for a number of laps with @RBRHoges97 involved as well. I eventually broke free from them and started to close on the leaders as we approached the first pit stop on lap nine, I was up the third by then. Everyone bar @Savage_Duck_75 pitted for fresh RS not knowing that the rains would start while we were in the pits. Duck motored on with his RS with a big gap while the rest of us scrambled around as the track got wetter and people started slithering off every where. I initially lost a couple of places being mega careful but that paid off for me as I was a clear second to duck as we approached the pits. Unfortunately I had a big spin a couple of corners before pit entry and went into the pits in 3rd. After we all changed to Ws or IMs we continued on, @CobberSupreme struggled on with his RS and eventually gave up the fight.
I was in 4th and saw that @tolley__ had pitted again and was well back in the field and as beating him was my prime goal I assumed he has pitted early for RS again as the rain had stopped and thought it would be a good idea for me to go back to RS as well. The replay shows he actually swapped W for IM. @T F Eccles did the same as I did and it was the biggest mistake for both of us. I lost so much ground spinning on every drop of water scattered around the place I ended up 8th with only Moon who I suspect must have had an absolute horrid time and cobber racing on his RS way way back. Meanwhile Tolley moved his way back through the field magnificently to finish in a well earned 3rd.
My last third of the race I spent chasing Eccles and eventually got by when he had a wobble at the final corner of the second last lap.
We have had 4 races now and I have finished ahead of Tolley twice and he twice ahead of me, but I am about 18 points behind now so it will be almost impossible to close that points gap with him having his pace advantage.
It has been a very good season though with lots of good racing, four different winners from four rounds and eight different drivers on the podium.
    Roll on next week.

Erk, I will have to resist the temptation to make strategy decisions on the fly. Pitting for RS on lap 14 was a very unwise choice, an extra pit stop and many many spins. 2 or 3 more laps on the wets would have been much much better. My wets were hardly worn FFS.

Happy to place 3rd after the 10th lap nightmare where I went from comfortably 1st to 10th. My two stop strategy turned into a five stop qualy session (S, S, W, I, S, S).
Congrats duck! That fuel saving in the first stint and keeping your cool in the rain got you the win, well deserved.

Thanks for that. TBH luck was just with me. I could waffle on about my cricket career where I got a hat trick and century in the same match, but it was just everything fell into place to favor me and noone else. So you guys can blame my pagan wife with her weather rituals and so forth.

The original strategy was to fuel save like mad and keep on someone's tail for the majority and then be in the position to put fresh tyres with least amount of fuel in to give myself a good chance to sprint like mad to the end.
Ended up that fortune fell in my favor with the weather, then having my team mate tow me along for 2 laps in the last stint to help fuel save, with also the help of @Bluemoon (Evil Moon) literally pushing me in the last lap as I think he didn't want to do an extra lap here.

TBH I think the teams 1 - 2 with T-GT in second was more important to me than the win, Uncle @Viperzed should be happy with that.

Was having what felt like a very fun and even battle up fromt with Tolley all first stint. Completely undone by the rain and not having purchased any wet tyres when I bought the car.. what an absolute oversight... I tried to carry on as much as possible but it was an impossible endeavour so I packed it in but accidentally hit the button in pits and it sent me out again.. not wanting to quit the lobby for fear of causing issues for the server, I slipped and slid another lap around to pull back into the pits and this time stayed there.
Only real mistake during the first stint was that apart from one quick pit practice last week, I was ill prepared in the race and wasn't confident where the pit entry was and how much speed I would need to cut to avoid the wall, so on approach I was overly cautious which led to Tolley pulling an absolute ripper of a move and overtook me on the pit entry. Well done.
Other that the mess above, it was a really fun race and am devastated I didn't get to enjoy that over the full race length.
Keen to see the track return again in the near future.

TRACK SPECIFIC - High Speed Ring
Our second temple of speed in as many weeks, High Speed Ring is the theoretical love child between an American oval and whatever Japan was smoking at the time they made it. Top Speed, rain, tire wear, bump drafting. Sunday is gonna have it all! Be mindful of how hard the tight hand side tires are used here, you may find yourself doing an extra pitstop or two just to stay on the road. Eyes to the skies too as rain could again be a factor!

Back to our more traditional formation lap, I'm expecting more photos and for everyone to behave!

If the Room Captains could also please include a rough time for the formation lap (the lap 1 time), that would assist in the Race Results.

A disaster for me. I had done 8 full length practice races but still only managed 7th on the grid. It went down hill from there when I spun on the second turn of the first flying lap and lost about 23 seconds. I hadn't spun once during my practice races. From there it was just push on mostly on my own although there were a couple of laps where I got in a four car scrum. Managed to make up a couple of positions to finish 3rd last. No more practice races for me, total waste of time.
Well done to @T F Eccles and @Bluemoon joining as the 5th winner and 9th and 10th podium scorers for the season. It has been a very competitive division.

I was doing standing starts too which adds about 7 seconds. I guess I would have been about 6th place somewhere if I hadn't spun.
