Yeah that was a bit hot and cold. Pretty mystified as to where the time was hiding in qualifying. Can be very frustrating to see drivers over a second a lap faster when you nail what you think to be a good lap. I suppose that's karma for showing up at 7:50 and running my first laps then lol.

Race 1 actually ran really well, I had a cracker of a battle with @Hatfield that left a huge grin on my face before settling for a lonely P6. Had no idea at the time I'd set the second quickest lap of the race but I'm now quite chuffed with that!

Race 2 went how you'd expect for someone with very little wheel to wheel experience on a TGT, poorly lol. I got muscled out of a good spot in the first sector and just drew a bad hand going forward. Determined to keep my elbows out I kept battling those who came towards me, especially cars who I would prefer to keep behind for Championship sake lol. That went pretty poorly too but I did have an absolute stormer of a battle with @Twitchy that didn't so much leave a smile on my face but definitely pushed me to think of my toes the entire time. Some really smart plays had me hold on for a while but in the end my pace wasn't strong enough to hold on.
I think P6 for this round is just about where I belonged. Huge shoutout to Hatfield, @CaptainRisky21 and @Noodles87 too who had the Evo dialled in tonight!

you've had me for pace all season, but last night was the only one where I had the advantage. Don't throw in the towel on next week, @UrsineSaturn9 @Darren Day & myself need you in our battle pack!

After 2 disappointing rounds from myself I managed to bounce back pretty strong. Ngl I wasn't confident heading into this as Catalunya is one of my weakest tracks on the game. Completed a few laps in practice & was surprised to be in the high to mid 42s. That continued in qualifying as I did a 42.7 which was good enough for 3rd. Got an awesome start passing @MINT_GTR & nearly passing @LR__AmazingHour for the lead into T1. My pace in the first race was ok but I lost the slip at the end of lap 1 due to being cautious on the kerbs & trying not to cut them for a possible time penalty. Managed to finish P2 in the first race & my teammate @CaptainRisky21 finishing right behind me in 3rd. For the reverse grid race I stayed cautious & tried not to make any dumb mistakes. I managed to avoid all the chaos in front of me which was great. Passed @MINT_GTR for 3rd & stayed there for the rest of the race while my teammate @CaptainRisky21 again finished right behind me, this time in fourth. Really happy with the results last night. Hopefully that can continue for the rest of the season. Big congrats to @LR__AmazingHour & @Rangeraus for winning last nights races.

Really disappointed with how last night unfolded. I had probably done the most practice I’ve ever done for a ROOZ race in the lead up as it is one of my more favoured tracks. I felt confident during the lobby warm up and was setting some good times only to start the race and have the car behave very unusually. It was only after a couple of laps I realised there was a fuel load. I know it was an honest mistake but it really shattered my confidence and only towards the end of race 2 did I start to feel the car as I was chasing twitchy and viper. It’s all a learning curve and I feel honoured to race with the aliens in div 1. Congratulations to the podium guys.

    Round 6: Autodromo Nazionale Monza - 25 Laps - 15:00 Cloudy - 22/8

    WELCOME to Season 16!!
As always please take 2 mins to read the following so you have an understanding of what is expected on race night.
If you have any questions, or want clarification on any of the rules or regulations please ask!

    ROOM OPEN :
Most room captains will 'try' to have rooms open by about 7:30 AEST. Please be on time, or let the room captain or div thread if you may be late. If all agree, the room may wait for you, Within reason. Please remember we have drivers from NZ, and later starts mean a much later night for them.

QUALIFYING : 8:20 AEST for 10 mins. We are using practice mode this season for qualifying.
Once 10 mins has been reached, finish the lap you are on and park up off track.
    PITS ARE OPEN DURING QUALIFYING
RACE START TIME : 8:30 AEST (once qualifying has completed)

LAG ISSUES / ROOM RESTARTS :
This is up to the room host/captains. If there is a Disconnection (or cars stuck on grid) at race start, it is sporting to try to get them back in, which may mean a new room to be set up. I always look at 1 or 2 starts if required due to DSC, but as it gets later everyone needs to be aware of getting things going. Please be as reasonable as you can with this....
    SIGHT ISSUES:
Ensure that you can see everyone on track. Before qualifying, exit to lobby and spend 30 seconds in spectate mode, scroll through the list of drivers on track and make sure that you can see their car. If you can't see somebody (and they are confirmed as being on track), exit the lobby, re-join, and check again.

FALSE START CHECK : Please note that the start type is Grid Start with False Start Check
Please practice this so you know what to expect. Simply, you hold the brakes on until the lights go from all lit, to none lit

    TURN 1 LAP 1 :
This has the potential to ruin someone's night if we don't use our heads! Should be everyone's goal to get through the first phase with ZERO contact. Give room and run in your 'lane' till you have space to run the normal race line. If your unassisted tap causes someone to spin, you need to redress.

    TRACK LIMITS :
As we are running with 'track limit penalties" OFF, we will run with our usual Raceonoz track limit regulations. This means you MUST have at least 2 wheels on the ripple strip OR white line that defines the track limit. If you do make a mistake and have to run outside the limits, be aware that you are not allowed to gain any advantage.
There are many corners to be careful of cutting here so be careful. The exit of T10 Ascari, you are ALLOWED to run wide using the tarmac over the ripple strip and line with all 4 wheels.
On the straight, you must have at least 2 wheels on the white line on the right to be within track limits.

CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.
If you bump someone and they end up off track or teleport back to the corner entry, you must wait for them to rejoin and get back up to speed.
Show each other RESPECT! It is difficult enough to drive the car at the limit on your own, without someone squeezing you within a millimeter of the grass.
So be patient and show respect to your fellow drivers.
If you are redressing contact, please do so out of the way of other cars, off the racing line, or if there isn't much room, off track.

TYRES : Racing Mediums (mandatory - unlimited sets) & Racing Softs (not mandatory - unlimited sets)

PIT ENTRY : Please attempt to follow the pit entry lane. Failure to do so may result in a penalty (especially in the instance another driver is affected). Do not cut the green astroturf.

PIT EXIT : Please attempt to follow the pit exit lane, Penalties will be adjudicated in similar fashion to Pit Entry. Please be aware of cars approaching on the straight. Be careful when exiting that you don't move across the track impeding incoming cars. For cars on the straight, please give room to drivers as they exit the pits. Please do not cut the unbroken white exit line on the left of the pit lane all the way down the straight, including past the white line going across the track left/right.
    NOTE: Pitting is NOT COMPULSORY

    BLUE FLAGS :
Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS :
This season the steward will be @Hatfield. If you have reason to protest, please SAVE YOUR REPLAY, and then let him know via a PM.
DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE FORUM OR IN THE ROOM CHAT. There have been multiple incidents where the replays from drivers have been different, so its true that sometimes things are not as black and white as they may seem. You have until MIDNIGHT, Monday night to register your protest via PM. Stewards will ask for video evidence from both drivers or room captain to make any decision.

    SAVE YOUR REPLAY :
If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved!

    PARKING UP :
If you are unable to continue to race, please enter the pits and leave your game paused without selecting tyres (or no tyres) so that your car stays parked in the pits. Parking up off track activates yellow flags in the sector, and even though penalties are off, we have reports of penalties occurring for passes happening near the parked car.

    FINAL NOTE:
Could all drivers please confirm their attendance for this Sunday by 'liking' this post in your division.
If you are unable to attend, please post in reply as much in your division. This way we can figure out our reserves or if the room can start early in advance.
(ALSO IF YOU KNOW YOU CANNOT ATTEND, PLEASE POST SAYING SO, SO THAT RESERVES CAN BE ORGANISED IN ADVANCE)
If you do not post in your room thread or psn chat that you cannot attend, a spot may not be held for you for the following weeks race

VIDEO: @Rangeraus has kindly offered to complete a track limits video so look out for that soon

@Hatfield Just saw on the incident reports that AmazingHour got a 10 sec penalty for track limits. So that means I move up to P1 in the first race & P2 in the reverse grid race? & will the race results & graphs be updated?

Just noticed that the GR GT Cup first slot is at 7PM, is it ok if we can start 5-10mins later than usual? Wanted to do the last round since it’s at Bathurst.

Forget what I said above. I’ll have to miss this one. Have to help my parents out with something after the GR GT cup race which is little annoying, but is what it is. I’ll see you for retro round. Good luck everyone.

I couldn't combine slipstream with a good lap in qualifying so started 9th out of 10.
Decent start but there were some T1 issues ahead (welcome to Monza lol) which split the field into 2 groups.
For most of the race, was in a slipstream pack with @sidawg2 @Viperzed & @JonoStan96 . I spent most of my time as the final car in that group.
Closer to the end things started to get more lively in the group.
After one of many side-by-side, 2-by-2 moments into T1, I tapped @JonoStan96 at the exit of T1 and he entered a slide, but I had another car right behind me so as I slowed I was tapped into Jono again. Weirdly Jono then had his game crash.
Sidawg broke away due to that, but miraculously we 'caught' him and renewed the battle.
It all came to a head on the final lap at the final turn. Sidawg was on the left and I went for the inside. Viper stayed behind Sidawg, I assume hoping to sweep around my outside, but they made rear/front contact which sent sidawg wider than expected. As we powered out of the corner almost nothing separated us over the line.

    Very happy with 5th place
