Season 9 GT6 & Season 3 PCars Teams Championship
Posted on Wednesday 29th June at 4:51 PM
As the division lists filled out, all drivers across the Project Cars League, and the veterans of the Ninth Gran Turismo 6 Season were eager to find out whose team they would line up in. As we moved closer to the start, those questions were slowly revealed and answered as drivers slowly got slotted in to one of Eight teams. After intense wars of bidding from the Captains in Pre-Season, the grid colours looked a little something like this:

In Round 1, it was Selby Acoustics Racing, Turn Left Racing and Hi-Tec Oils who all played their Double Points Joker to perfection, with their drivers all picking up race victories. Despite this, Pagnian Racing Team actually outscored them all for the round and walked away as Teams Championship leaders, ahead of Selby Acoustics and Hi-Tec Oils.

In Round 2, the top 3 of the table were shuffled around as a perfect Joker pick from VARDZ sent HTO rocketing to the top of the table with Watto64’s victory in Division 2 of Gran Turismo 6. Meanwhile disaster struck for last season’s runner up, with Bruce Hale Racing scoring just 12 points from there Joker.

The third round of the season and Next-Level Racing took an impressive 158 points out of Sakitto and Brands Hatch to find their way into third place in the standings after a stuttering start. Team Captain Come_And_Get_Me7 placed the joker perfectly on Slambobagan over on Project Cars, although they were outdone as Selby Acoustics racing took a maximum 54 points from there joker. Hi Tec Oils still led, but the top 3 teams were just 17 points apart!

Over halfway into the season now as Round 4 gets left in the dust and we had a change up front! Next Level Racing obliterated their challenger’s points haul and went from third to first! 138 points coming home to them whilst HTO and SAR could only manage 108, and 102, the lowest of any teams for that round. Disaster for the front running contenders! 3 rounds left and NLR had the momentum! Who could sandbag their efforts now?

Perhaps the answer was in fact not CAGM himself, but TLR! A mammoth point’s haul of 150 points, the biggest of the 7 rounds sent them launching into P2 on the table, and within 7 points of NLR! V8power383 had another possible 14 points available on the Joker, so it was a mighty round from the boys in Blue! NLR still lead, however now hot on their heels TLR, and HTO were still within 20 points. This was an incredibly close fight! Selby Acoustics had fallen back a little and were just keeping their head above Pagnian Racing Team, whilst Bruce Hale Racing, ROOZ Racing and the Gamesmen Racing Team all scratched and clawed to avoid that dreaded wooden spoon!

The penultimate round was a chance for NLR to extend their lead out front as they score a 127 point haul from Zhuhai and Special Stage Route 5, the second largest points haul of the round behind disturboed’s RZR squad, as there Joker also takes home a near perfect 52 points.

At the final round of the season however, Next Level Racing kept their heads above water to win the Teams Championship for a second time! Congratulations to Come_And_Get_Me7 and the entire Next Level Racing team on the title. PRT produced the biggest points score of the round to jump onto the podium in the final seconds, just behind runners up Hi-Tec Oils racing. Unfortunatley SPL_Racing’s Bruce Hale Racing team scored the wooden spoon for the season, a disappointing result after such a high last season. Latest reports suggest that SPL did personally arrive at Killercarlcox’s house after the round with the wooden spoon however!

That’s all from the Teams Championship this season! It’ll be back again next season, so whose team will go forward? Whose will go backwards? And will any team end up bankrupt! Until Next time…..
