    "RISING SUN 500"
    When - Saturday 9th July
    Room Open - 7:50 ,
    Qually - 8:20pm ,
    Start - 8:30pm

    Regs :-
    Track - Motegi Speedway
    Car - Formula Gran Turismo
    Laps - 200 , ( 500km )
    Tuning - Open, no limit
Tyres - RH , normal wear (tyres & fuel)
Qually - 1 out lap, 1 flying lap, then park on the infield
Start - Double File Rolling Start
    Boost - None / Off
    Penalty - Off
    Grip - Real
    Damage - Light
Aids - ABS only, all others Off
    Mics - ON
Pits - Exit and follow 'pit road' around to the back strait and enter track after the Orange line.
    - Enter 'pit road on the back strait and be extremely careful rounding T3/4 , staying off the banking.

    Qualifying :-
    - will be run in practice mode.
    - after a re-set, everyone enters the pit but doesn't go out on track.
    - will leave the pits in the order of the blue boxes (the order the game puts you on the driver list) one at a time.
-the first driver goes out for their run, then the next driver (No.2 blue box) leaves for their run, as the driver in front crosses the first split timer line (after T2, in hte middle of the back strait)
    - as driver No.2 crosses the first split timer line, Blue box driver No.3 leaves for their run,
    - continues through No.4 leaves as No.3 crosses it , continuing through all drivers.
    - When its your run, get on it strait away (no point swerving warming tyres, you need to get your momentum going strait away) put in your flying lap, cross the line , and keep on the gas around turn 1&2 then pull over just before turn 3 after the pit exit and park it , keeping clear of the pit exit road.

If everyone does this, the timing works to perfection that everybody gets a clear, no draft assisted run, without anybody tripping over any other driver, and will only take a few mins or so.

-Once the last driver finishes their lap, race starts (so it's not possible to have a qually set up, and race set up)
-if you have a spin during qually, get off track as quickly as possible and park it out of the way, so as not to affect everyone else

Last race i put a good base tune in the thread. (i spent hours tweaking and perfecting it after that)

Last race i read out my exact tune to you in the room, which you used and others were seen putting in to their settings as well. You led the race for the first 20 or so laps before your strategy let you down, not my tune.

The tune i am testing with is exactly the same at the moment, except with increased downforce.

If people dont want to do any practice or spend any time working on a strategy, or tweaking a tune to their personal driving style, they cant complain.
As people worked out, its not just driving in a circle (much more to it than that), you have to put in some effort to get a decent result, not just expect it to happen.

Also why i have the option of a Boost / V.S.C room , for people who just wanna be at the front all night

Gearbox- as stated in the indy room, i have changed and re-changed so many of the gears longer and shorter, individually, as well as the final, I cant even replicate it on a brand new car when i try. alter the top number to suit the top speed, allowing for draft, and for possible power loss over the race distance (something i didn't do for indy)
My Final is on 4.245 if that helps
    Diff - 6 , 8 , 5
    Aero - 540 , 750

    Lap times - fastest - 24.6 secs
average - 25.1 over the set of tyres
Tyres lasting 22 laps running solo

Have seen guys doing 24.4 secs, but not getting the same tyre wear. I plan on chasing better tyre wear, suggest guys try different aero and susspension setting's as there were many different set-up's being used and Indy, and strategies to suit their personal sut-ups.
My Indy set-up was Not the fastest, many, many passes were made on me, and i passed a lot while they were doing extra pits, or they were having 'moments' on loose, fast set-ups.
I don't believe a set-up is the only key to a good result, but I hope this helps get you on track for good pace and a good result :)

Open room, sticking to the Silver Arrow.

Also, isn't lap count limited to 200?

I noticed i have done some minor tweaks since Indy, camber and toe have been changed slightly so far from
    0 , 0
    0 , 0
    to
    0.1 , 0
    0.02 , 0

If anyone tries this set-up, could you post what your lap times are, fastest and approx. average as well as how many laps your getting out of a set of tyres on full tank running solo.....curious to know, as i know i flog the tyres a bit more than most

Remember I am only a maybe runner. I have no strategy until I work it out while driving on the night. I only ask for certain info so people have somewhere to start with a tune and so any guys who decide to fill spots on the night have an ok chance for a decent result.:)
