So far we've been practicing the V8SC, Formula Gulf, Formula B, Formula C, Lotus 78 Cosworth, and Ford Cobra Trans-Am (don't see that getting up against the V8SC though). Not sure if any of those are or aren't on Stu's shortlist but that's what we've been driving anyway.
Still think the gulf is a good thing. The Lotus could turn a few away after a couple of rounds. The gulf was easier to cone to turms with but still bit you if you let your mind wonder.
The Gulf is ok but I find it a bit stale whereas the Lotus keeps you on your toes at least. We had a blast in the Formula Renault 3.5 too and that thing is amazing. If we could get people to spend the $6 it'd be a great season car.
Hey stu. Can't wait to add the winner of the meaningless Friday night test drive in the v8 winner at Bathurst while pissed to my signature. Will be a special moment.
A whole $5.25! https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-au/games/addons/project-cars-renault-sport-car-pack/cid=EP0700-CUSA00940_00-0000RENAULTSPORT?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=playstation store&utm_campaign=PX - PlayStation - Brand - Australia&EMCID=GM300000_store You also get the Renault Sport R.S. 01 which is another really awesome car to drive, an absolute beast. One of my favourite cars in the game actually.
Heaps of power (modified Nissan GTR engine), 7 gears, great acceleration and top speed, huge aero grip. It's a full on race car with its own series. They had to create a series for it because it was more potent than GT3 regulations.
Ok for what it's worth, here's some info regarding the Formula Renault 3.5 After completing around 40 laps of the Nurburgring GP I found that DRS only decreased my best lap times by 0.8 seconds, fuel usage was really good, The tyres did not overheat, had plenty of grip throughout the whole tyre life however the rear tyres literally ran out after 20 laps, so pit start will play a real part of any race. Awesome car to drive but still need to be careful when exiting the corners otherwise the rear will snap and you'll spin out, but if you use the throttle with gradual pressure coming out of the corner you'll have much greater control. This is still my fav car out of all that have been mentioned in the thread & I reckon it would make for a great season with plenty of highlights and good racing. IMO
Yep, I agree with all of that. Throttle control is definitely needed but it was on the Sierra too, as well as the other potential cars for the next two seasons. Tyres running out shouldn't be an issue because it'll happen to everyone; we're all on the same pitch. I love the aero grip on the thing, you can take corners way faster than you first anticipate. Also love how late you can brake. I think it would make for some great racing, sure you need to be a bit more wary of contact but I still think it'd provide close battles. Did you try out the R.S. 01? I'd love to hear what you think of that. I'll probably take it for another spin tonight, it's been a while.
Yeah I did some laps in the R.S. 01, wasn't bad, had a lot of understeer but it was quick and sounded great
Had a ball last night in the V8SC. Tracks like Donington and Brno suit this car perfectly being nice and wide with well cambered corners. Some great close racing and times weare pretty close across a bunch of tracks. Anyone keen for a longer race tonight to see how it runs over a full race distance (approx 45mins)? Track suggestions?
