I could do the 1965 Norm Beechey Mustang that he used to win the 1965 Australian Touring Car Championship at Sandown Park. It would be in Neptune Racing Team colours of dark blue with two white stripes. Google it and see if it appeals to you. There is a great article on Norm in the latest Australian Muscle Car magazine. He was my first hero. His nickname was Stormin' Norman.
Life with a new born.. I've managed to get in 2 laps (this morning).. I don't know this track at all, so safe to say I am screwed..
I'm a late scratch tonight gents sorry. Brothers birthday today and I'm not going to be home in time.
Well done podium... 1 mistake on my in lap... ran wide into the wild west and it cost me big time... 16'1 on RM wow!! nice lap emmo
I'll just give a little report before I go and slit my wrists. I have had this track whipped all week and duly put it on a comfortably easy pole. Unfortunately on the first lap I understeered off on the left up the little hill (never done that before ) and that put me back to 5th, no worries, still with the lead pack and then passed Arakisi for 4th on lap three. That was rewarded by the third third place driver spinning across my path and not ghosting and causing me to T bone him and then slide off track into a 360 in the dirt and then back on track for 10th place but still only about 10 seconds back from the leader. I fought my way back through the pack to be only 5 seconds off the lead in 4th place when I touched the dirt exiting the final corner which usually isn't a usually a biggie but this time I oversteered into the infield (never done that before either )and spun about three loops and went for about a mile before coming to rest inside some feckin fence . I had to drive back towards the final turn to get around the fence. By this time my race was done as I was now 45 seconds behind the leader in 10th place again. I put my head down and went for it taking the FL by about 4 tenths and getting up to 6th again only 29 seconds behind the winner despite having to battle very hard for some of the positions which were defended very robustly. That was my damn race to win and I fecked it up..
