Race start at 8. Room open by 7.45 Practice start, as 1 lap race. Hold/finish in handicapped grid order. This is so @emmo46 has the back up of Finishing Order grid also, to avoid the possibility of having to reset the grid manually again. Good Luck to everyone, hope it is gr8 night of racing with a close finish between 1st and last.
Not long got home from a last minute weekend in Sydney, haven't been able to do a huge amount of practice yet but looking forward to it. Also, I haven't seen today's race yet, so can we keep from discussing too much, please?
First.... thanks Emmo, seamless job of hosting. Thanks to Risky for his work Thanks to the other 14, it was gr8 to see a near full grid Was happy to see all 3 divs from this year on the podium. Handicapping worked a bit. Sorry to those I got wrong. Congratulations Jono, I found some of the traffic hard to negotiate, you did it easy. Held you, till you undercut me, and I knew i was history after that. Congratulations Ozglenn on a top drive for 2nd, sorry Oz for thinking I had handicapped myself out of winning, thought it would be nearly as hard for Jono Congrats Xr made no ground on you late Had fun, it capped off a gr8 BATHURST DAY
Bloody good racing! I very much enjoyed myself, and glad I got to hold onto 8th! Look forward to the season!
It was indeed great racing, I really enjoyed the first few laps and managed to move up 4 places over the first 2 laps. It was looking good for a while but then things went very wrong for me to the point after 4 offs I was so far back I had lost interest. I hope we can do this again and I hope to keep out of trouble. There were a couple of incidents that I feel a redress was called for so let's get that right for the championship or there could be a few protests.
Great race, was good fun hustling the PussyWagon up to the front from a long way back. These BJH ROC style handicap races are always a blast. Apex was extremely fast in the first stint but a more aggressive pit entry and a shorter fuel stop helped me jumped him. The traffic was difficult to clear, and Glenn had indeed checked out. It looked unlikely I’d be able to close the gap in the final stint, but I reeled off some 2:07’s to haul him in and pass him with 2 laps to go. My steam does make me sound like a bit of a schizophrenic, I was in a party with Xerxes but his sound options didn’t allow his voice to come through lol. Skip to 1:21:40 into my video above for my fastest lap. I hope we can do another one of these soon. One recommendation is to split the top pack a bit more, as starting 5 cars so close meant they were fighting each other at the start and costing themselves massive amounts of time. The fuel and tyre wear rates were spot on too. Kudos @apex2691 and @emmo46.
Who said it’s impossible to get more than 12 laps out of a tank? (yes I wasn’t all that competitive but hey I rung 13 laps out of it & still had .8 of a lap worth left when I pitted!) I had some great battles especially with @Xtr3meNZer & an almighty scrap on lap 20 with @GT_macneil29 & @apex2691 It was a fun race for me & before the race had hopes of finishing mid pack so happy to finish where I did. I was disappointed to see @emmo46 pull out as wanted to compare fuel strategies post race but he is generally faster all round so probably irrelevant anyway. Thanks @apex2691 for the planning & Thanks @emmo46 for hosting!
