I feel for you, I didn't qualify well on the qualifying day and started down the back of room 4. climbed to 5th to get promoted to room 3 for race 2, came 5th again behind mostly div 2 guys. I am way behind in points now because the leaders in my div have been running in room 2 and 3 and getting a bunch more points than me. I have had better race times than some of those ahead of me but they got more points because they were a room ahead. It is what it is and I'm paying the price of having poor one lap speed and relying on consistency. With no tyre or fuel degradation I have no way of working myself further up the field.
First off, I like the general set up this season, so this is not a complaint. I feel the added time for each lobby needs a tweak tho. When racing in a higher level most drivers will generally improve over time. With often quicker lap times because of the speed of others. The opposite occurs in lower rankings. It is for this reason that I feel the lobby time handicap is a bit amiss. If the carrot of overall race time is there then irrespective of position or gap to others, means there is still a race within a race for those who want to chase it......
I'm not concerned about winning championships, my first season here can attest to that. I just like chugging around as best I can and getting it done for my team. I'm sure things will iron out over time. Relax and enjoy the drive.
According to this list, you've settled into Div 3 right? https://raceonoz.com/forums/index.p...on-13-division-list-captains-hosts-list.4249/
Yes I've settled in to mid Div 3 I think. I still lack 1 lap pace but my race times have always been better when ranked.
One way it might work better next season would be to keep the room system, but reduce the divisions to 3 Division 1 for guys generally seen in the top room or consistently jumping in and out Division 2 for guys generally seen in room 2-3 Division 3 for guys generally seen in room 4-5
Now this idea has some merit... Something I could see working quite well if we're keeping this formula of racing (which I thoroughly enjoy)
Yep this has potential. But I feel the scoring system needs a tweak for this to work. Something to crunch the numbers over after this season and see how it all looks using the data from this season. Surely the worse thing out of this is the PSN chats from week to week being setup. Has to be painful.
Fair point as divisions have historically been set at 16 due to grid size limitations, but if you have fluid rooms, I wonder if that would work?
One way to avoid that, is to have the room chats set up, and then instead of creating one each week, have each called "Room 1", "Room 2" etc... then just adding the new people each week to each room. May mean large numbers of drivers in certain rooms, but least it will be less work setting them up new each week?
but it means guys who move out have to leave the chat and it's a risk of drivers thinking they are in the wrong room and joining the wrong one on race night
No one has to leave the rooms? just have to be wary of which room you're in, and join the correct party chat on the night? I've set this up for the SPCC Rebel Cup rooms - all drivers in both room 1 and room 2 party groups - then when the race comes, you be sure you join the correct room.
I believe @CaptainRisky21 has been listed as 1 minute too slow, also wondering as to why @xlxy90 best lap time was included when he was found to have cut on every lap?
Trying to speed up the process resulting in an error.. As for xlxy, good question. I don't have an answer for that, yet.
1 option is to use the slowest lap, if that is gather able. Otherwise in the interest of time a nil value could be applied.
