I confirm my attendance tonight for round 2! I assume I will still be in room 2 (as posted in the OP)? Looking forward to it
@JAKO155 Fastboy is retiring due to academy duties you should be able to fit in @leeboy910 might have missed your post
I'll be there assuming I have power restored by then. 3rd night in a row it's gone out . Expected to be back at half 8 NZ time, but don't be surprised if it goes out during the race.....
I will have to change my status to casual racer for this and a few other series. Bub hasn't been playing nice lately and I need to let the missus rest up. It's hard to commit if I can't find the time to jump on, or even stay on for any lengthy stint with the way he is going.
Good fun last night and the F3 is a blast to throw around the track. I was disappointed with my qual time of 1.12.8xx after hitting 12.1's or better in practice but it was what it was. I managed a good start off the line and moved up a position or two before T1 and was going well until several of us experienced that HUGE lag punt (from Jono??), which stopped us in our tracks - catapulting me backwards off the track. Thankfully, I managed to get going again quickly and lost a bit of time to the leaders but rejoined to be back to my starting position on the grid. I knew I could really push the F3 around the Hill so I tried to keep my pace high, hoping an incident up ahead may mean I could get back some of that 14 second deficit to the leader (mik). With a few drivers touching the ripples and spinning I eventually made my way into (what I thought) was 2nd place and was around 12 seconds or so behind mik. From pushing hard my tyres started to fade somewhere around mid-race and it was at this time that Cyber and Anon were on my radar and gaining ground on me with every lap. I tried to fight hard to keep ahead of them and for several laps I managed to do just that (with Cyber breathing right down my neck), but eventually my tyres lost my confidence to really push it so hard and I had to back off a little, which allowed Cyber and then shortly after Anon to pass me by. I tried my best to match Anon's pace and remained fairly competitive, but his alien genes were too good for me and he stayed just ahead of me. With a lap or two to go Cyber spun which let Anon and myself to pass by and move up the field. My screen showed I was 3rd which I was pretty happy about considering the talent on-track and it was only after passing the finish line that the leader board showed I was indeed 4th (Jono was in 2nd). The same happened to Anon, who thought he'd come 2nd. All in all a fun race and it was a challenge to stay ahead of Cyber and Anon. I gave them a run for their money (for a short period of time anyway), which was satisfying but in the end they caught me and reminded me that if I want to get to Div 1 I still have quite a way to go...
Yeah, I don't think the game knew what was going on in the first few laps. The little beast felt awesome in practice, but was a mess in those first few laps, couldn't keep it off the grass or stop it spinning. By lap 3 or 4 it started to feel normal again, but by then my race was over, or so I thought. Very lucky to have nabbed 3rd, wish I knew N64 was down the road, but I don't know my tyres would have let me push much harder.
These races are fun fun fun this car is so good you can get into a rhythm then the race is over .had a great race with come and get me best race I've had on rooz can't wait for the next one
