RaceOnOz Season 5 is taking it's place on the grid and waiting for that flag to fall. We have had a few too many beers and Christmas treats over the summer, but it's now time to get back to the on the horse. And, oh what a horse. The Ford Escort RS 1600 is a classic, raw, involving race car. This is going to be mental!!
Get out a calendar and put a big red ring around Monday the 8th of February. For those around next Monday, the 1st of February, we will have a meet and greet to welcome some of the new guys and ensure everyone knows the routine.
Our grid grew to 2 rooms in Season 4 and we hope to see that again this season. We will have multiple divisions as per last season but more details about this will be announced closer to the season starting and obviously depends on numbers and entrants. Also the Team’s Championship will be continuing due to it’s overwhelming success, so no matter where you are in any race you will always be racing for either your team or your own driver category championship.
Below you will find the bare bones version of the season layout. You will see we have 5 tracks selected but as always there is a small chance there may be changes as we are using a lot of modded content which can occasionally be unreliable.
So there you have it, put you name down below and get yourself involved. I will add those from the discussion thread to save double ups. For those who are new to our events please provide yourSteam GUID when you sign up, and it would be helpful to send me a FR on steam - anon_666.
Friends don't let friends drive Fords. In this case I'm making you!!

Success Ballast System:
We have experimented with a success ballast system and is continues to be shaped as each season goes on. We are running a slightly modified version this season, but as always we are hoping to keep the racing close. Last season saw a good mix of winners and podiums, and the championships went down to wire.
Here is the system in it's simplest form:
First = 40kg
Second = 30kg
Third = 20 kg
Fourth = 10 kg
The maximum ballast any driver can carry is 60kg. Your penalty is carried over 2 races, but is halved in the second race. Eg - Finish 2nd, carry 30kg into the next race. Then finish 3rd, carry 45kg into the next race. And so on. The ballast is only delivered to the top 4 drivers in each room, not in each division.
Drivers:
Just like in many GT racing series we will have a split of drivers within each room. If enough drivers sign up to allow 2 rooms, we will have a similar set up to last season with the guys in room 1 split into Pro and Pro-Am drivers, and room 2 split into Amateur and Gentleman drivers. As the season progresses we will have a table of results for each room, and each driver category. The room results for each race are used for deciding the Team Championship, not the driver category results.
Ultimately this means we will Crown an overall Champion within each room, an overall Team Champion and 4 Driver Category Champions. Every point counts, every race counts, every pass counts, every second counts!!! No pressure though...
