So heres my daily. We lent the car to my father in-law about a year back and he smashed (under-steered into a round about!) the 17" rims QF rims which was quite devastating. So after a year of hunting on yahoo auctions in Japan, decided to get 16" QF rims, and sold the damaged 17"s really cheap. Fortunately Bridgestone had a 4 for price of 3 this month promo, so got the re003's for $4 more than what I sold the 17"s for. Its pretty stock: Buddy Club N+ spec coilovers Buddy Club QF 16" on re003 Remsa brake pads To do: Rear sway bar Cold air intake. Not going down the path I did with my datsun..
My previous daily... until I got over it. Sydney traffic sucks, and just made this car absolutely no fun to drive. Owned it for ~10 years, built it from 2 write offs... some great lessons. Only regret was rebuilding the engine after destroying it at Oran park, as ended up selling it a few months later. Managed high 12's on street tyres for the 1/4 mile, but then started going to tracks and never looked back.
Yeah I own them as they're QLD plates... they are hanging in the garage Different to how NSW plates work, where you have to pay each year. Was the only thing I could think of when creating my psn name... but it needed to be 6 characters, so the 'S' at the start.
Lol! Well you blokes sure have some fancy cars, but maybe not one as fancy as my '93 MazdaSport 626 "SchleiffenWagen". @NAACS will vouch for me…lol! 2.2 litres of scintillating power and 'state of the art' 22 year old technology. I have it set up pretty soft on stock rims and cheap standard tyres, so when I'm belting down to the supermarket to grab something for dinner, it lets me know straight away if I'm exceeding the limits of traction by massively understeering (there's a nifty Simmon Plains hairpin style 90 degree drop in corner…it's ace when no-one cuts it coming the other way)…and it's a handy trait in the wet. Also, said beast will still do 140+ kph up a significant hill (with the standard allowable ROOZ run up) with 5 persons, a drum kit and amp/guitar and fully laden esky on board. Not bad for a porpoise built family bus/occasional off road/high speed pursuit vehicle. And it can be easily converted to a mobile bedroom, and/or conference centre. Paid $5K on the road and driven it everywhere for 6-7 years…Oh, and it's gotta massive sub woofer mate! bloody legend! lol!
This is my daily Its a Mock VY Clubsport I bought it as a stock X Cop car and did it up. Monaro Cv8 Wheels 18z Body Kit Tint and a loud exhaust. Below is another one of my toys.
Some nice cars around here! Here is mine, one of less than 200 in Australia, always loved the shape of the MK4 R32
VR6 engines are the best, my mate used to have a MkV R32 and man that sounded crazy. On a stock exhaust it would make V8s sound quiet.
Really, orange wheels? I couldn't do that hehe I had a Nissan 180sx for 5 years before the Volkswagen, always felt like some fluro Jap wheels would look bad ass on that Yeah you can force open the exhaust flap on the R32's (flapper mod) takes 5 minutes and it sounds much louder and loves to pop away once you come off the throttle . If only I made a dollar every time someone asked me what exhaust I have when it's just stock ...
I was pulling you leg a little as I run metallic blue with orange wheels when I run in the community events, I run the colours as a tribute to 72 and 74 World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi, they are his helmet colours.
Yeah, one passes by sometimes while I'm walking to the bus stop. It comes up behind me and when I hear that exhaust note I look back expecting to see a hot Falcon 6 and was surprised the first few times to see the Golf. My Alfa GTV6 has that magic V6 growl too and my VF Calais V v6 also sounds sweet on full noise but not as loud.
So met up for a beer with @PurpleDog last night, and his missus (Mrs Dog) was kind enough to show me a pic of his new daily driver (I may or may not have taken artistic license)
