Well I totally sucked, but it was great fun. The only race I didn't suck at was the eiger circuit, but like joe, Hatfield was doing the macarena everywhere and even though he was behind me (I think?!) he was blasting the crap out of me, and launching over the top of me then zapping back etc. It was quite amusing to see him launching off the smallest rises in the road, but less amusing when he did it backwards
. There were some moments in that race where I looked back at the pack chasing and it looked awesome, or when we approached that big hill after the left turn, and seeing 3-5 cars climbing the hill in procession with dirt trails flying. Brilliant.
Race 2 in the snow, and the car actually handled like it was supposed to on dirt, or at least a fairly good approximation to a sports tuned suspensioned car with grippy dirt tyres anyway. It was great to drive there too but it was not reflected in my placings. Had some little scraps here and there but it was not my night.
Race 3. Serge's track. Sigh. The track is a good concept, but it reminds me of some arcade game I can't put my finger on, and it doesn't seem right in this game. When PD added the Green Hell way back when, it became my mission in life to learn every apex, every crest, every bump, because it was THE endurance track. All those turns looking at me sternly, demanding me to learn them like only a German can. (Dumkopf, you vill learn ziss track or you vill be punished!) This one looks the same everywhere, and as such was a complete failure for me making the final race very frustrating, and unfortunately considering the reason we were racing, I couldn't wait for that one to finish.
The candor in the silver room was great, with lots of joking over the mics, as well as a great deal of sorry's for misjudging the track, and I think as the Man looked down upon proceedings with a drink in hand, he would have appreciated the effort put in by everyone in his honour, especially you
@N64TheStig007.
Well done Jono.
