Just a thought but an SSD also works in a PS3 too. Apparently it can halve the loading times compared to a standard HDD.
I am aware of this, but I'm unwilling to spend any money to keep this clunker afloat. It's a bonus that this HDD is 250GB, up from 160GB.
Fair enough. Wolud also work in a PS4 if you got one. I used a near free 320GB to fix mine earlier last year.
Depends, some games are more noticeable but controller is still bottleneck. There is a worthwhile difference for the PS4 but not nearly as much as you'd expect if the same drives were installed in a PC.

So it seems I finally had some luck go my way on my third 4-in-a-row TITTS win to claim that elusive special (special) result: the clean sweep. I'd clipped an invisible barrier near the start of the race at SSR7 and was running last by some margin, but a big pile up a quarter lap later allowed me to thread the needle with @emmo46 up to 4th position. This was followed up with @Hatfield ghosting from the lead to pick a fight with an insect and @Knuckles slowing down (too much) in response, just another quarter lap down the road. I almost didn't get the FL after losing a lot of momentum at the same wall that caused the Lap 1 pile up, but had saved up just enough laughing gas to take it by only 0.06s over Hat's FFX in the end.
