GT6 [COMPLETED] Econobox Cup

What a night I had last night, I had issues with connection and once I finally got into VH's room I noticed everybody was lagging so assumed the trouble was on my end so I left the room to rejoin. problem was I couldn't reconnect to the server and the PS3 froze after I cleared my cache. I had to shut everything down and start again. I got into Vh's room again but immediately had to leave as everybody was going to Mustafur's room. I then couldn't get back in again and had to reset everything again. By the time I got in the first race had started, very disappointing as I was looking forward to starting just behind Doogle and have a mano to mano battle for 2nd driver honours. Because of all the dramas I hadn't actually completed a lap of practice on the night before race two started.
Dave came in a gallant 7th in race one which put him ahead of me in points. I was looking forward to putting that right in race two as I would have had pole and hoped to build a bit of a lead early. Unfortunately two late comers lined up ahead of me and scuppered my plans. One of them was faster so didn't impede me but the other proved difficult to pass and I lost ground before I cleared him. Before I was was really hoping for Zamps and Mustafur were upon me and despite my best efforts they both passed me cleanly and fairly.
I tried to stay in their wake but before too long Dan Holland was hunting me down. I held him out for a lap but as we came around Rascasse he pulled up underneath me as we headed for the chicane onto the finish straight. I expected him to yield as I was slightly ahead and there is no way we could get through there side by side.Unfortunately he held his ground as I was the one on the outside so had it all to lose. Fair enough but the resultant shoulder shove into the wall caused me to bounce back into VH's path and he hit me hard in the rear, strangely I got the collision penalty which gave VH and Cyber a free pass to drive right through my ghost. I lost three places in one hit.
From there I held 7th place to the flag, Doogle finished out of the points so with a 7th place each I had maintained my slim points lead
despite missing the first race. Later daylightdrifter was disqualified so Doogle moved to 10th closing the gap by one point.
I'm looking forward to next week where hopefully Doogle and I will be starting race one together and we can battle for the 2nd driver honours, we haven't actually seen much of each other on track despite our close battle for the 2nd driver honours.
The little Renault is fun to drive and had lots of go up the hill, but either it and/or I didn't have much pace coming back down.

Thanks for filling in Cyber!! Did you have enough fun to do it again next Friday while I'm watching F1 cars break down??

Hmmm I'll think about it. Was def tuff starting last at Monaco in a detuned focus !!!

Thanks Mus, I'll give it a test and see which way to go. Team prize or 2nd driver honours, perhaps both

Yep, tested them and Vitz has a slight advantage. Team Zammo it is. Let's go get 'em Zamps.

I see there is considerable advantage in teaming up with Zamps, our combined scores would put us at the top of the teams table, are you sure this is OK, I don't want to upset the other teams, I probably wouldn't be too pleased if I were in there place.

So we drop two rounds?
