Great event @Hatfield, I had a good time running up the front for a change, I had a couple of messy races where I got it all wrong but generally very happy with the night. Lucky for me we used a couple of my favourite tracks with cars that even I could work with. @mmm_homebrew seemed to be in good form as well, I couldn't hold him off at GVE where I usually do pretty well.
@Hatfield, you haven't done a final sort, warrior finished ahead of Brew and Incey should be ahead of StigsTC.
Very happy with 3rd place in this company, TB and Hat were very consistent over the night with good points earned in most of the races, good effort in such a big field.
lol actually I was tempted to penalise myself if I ended up winning. I already have an ROC ticket and it wouldn't have felt right to win after my 'move' on bob 1 drop round was the right amount. Last time we had 10 races with 2 drops. This time we had a few drivers with 1 DNS and we had no DSC's which was good.
I was even in the hunt for the overall win until we got into the Tesla, my first lap in that was a nightmare, with no sound and extreme power on oversteer I was convinced I was being pushed when I spun in turn 1 and 2, then I spun all by myself in turn 4 (right hander under the overhead bridge) and then a couple of 360's trying to get going again. I was over 30 seconds back at the end of lap 1. I got my head around it pretty well after that and was holding the gap to the leaders and even closed a little with FL until I spun again at turn 1. Starting where I had if I could have gotten my head around the car earlier I might have given it a good shot.
after your win + FL at williow, you were leading by a point to tb but after GVE-R you were 4 pts down on tb & I tied
I would have had to beat both you and TB in the last race to take the night, not an easy task and made all the more impossible after my first lap dramas.
I really enjoyed the previous 'no practice' event, although last night was horrid. It really didn't take much when your on the SH to send you off, and it happened more times than not. Personally I think the 1 compound with reverse grid worked best. Much closer racing for the whole field. Maybe 2 compounds might work? But having 3 doesn't, at least on the street cars (race cars its not quite so bad). I dont think you can add ballast for 1 make? As that would be another way to even the grid.
Wish my internet would stop mucking around with me Last night was a lot of fun until I was informed of my internet. Tried resetting the router and the couldn't bloody connect again for ages. Well done to @t_b_williams for taking out the night!!
