G'day all I am wondering what the qualifying set up for Nordschleife aka the pig will be.Are we having 20minutes or is setting the room to practice /qualification/race and setting qualifying to last corner start a possibility giving the option of 1 flying lap in 10 minutes or 2 in 20????? In previous seasons we've done away with timed quali and just run a single hot lap with race start after the last person finishes their lap. I'm not certain but there may be some bug/issue with running the in-game qualifying mode, hence why we don't use it at all.
If anyone gets DSC they cant get back in as closed quali. Nor can they chose to race from last position as race is closed too.
Adro and I did the one sighting lap then one hot lap. I would say quali will take approx 15-20 min to allow for incidents and slow out lap.
Thanks @NAACS it all makes sense. I assumed it must have been tested I just couldn't work out what the dramas might be.
We need to do quali, as its too hard to overtake. I vote "yes" for hot lap quali. Plus approx 45 min for race.
I would probably go the P/Q/R format and then in the event of a qually dsc, have everyone leave the race and do a manual line up. Probably still quicker than 2 laps in practice...and no other drivers on track so your qually lap won't get interrupted
I dont mind the 2 laps as it gives the old shoulders chance to loosen up and be ready to fly in second. When we do normal quali this is just the norm. Get warm then get fast.
I can't race tonight guys - apologies for last week too; I was in middle of exams, and cramming hard. It's all over now though. The current issue is that, once again, my landlord father won't give up the Ethernet cable he stole because I'm not paying rent. Wireless is really glitched out at the moment, so I can't attend tonight. Best of luck to those racing at a great circuit!
