I was just wondering what you here with wheels have their steering wheels set to in GT5 from options (Simulation, etc.) and whether you have power assist (I think that is what it's called) or not.

Think of me as your local Curious George :p

Only reason I ask is I checked mine out (looking for my FF setting) and saw it had assist on... Maybe that is part of why I am so down the ladder, I have too much assist happening. Something to check out, thanks Chev :)

P.S: Others can still say what they use ;)

    yeah Squeaky-G-string

i used to run my G27 wheel when i first got it last year (end of Aug)
    Simulator mode ON
    power assist ON
    FFB on 3

the only reason i ran this setting was i had a non FFB wheel for about a year,
and i really struggled to get the hang of the wheels FFB dam near taken my thumbs off.. (i sorta need them to open jars & do OTHER stuff) :p

the settings i run now are. (slowly notching the setting up)
    Simulator mode ON
    power assist OFF
    FFB on 4

the only thing i have noticed from my old setting and the new, is with the Power Assist OFF.
The wheel becomes a lot stiffer when you get the car sideways or have damage... and it can be a little harder to get straight again.. (took some getting use too)
but in saying that, it feels so much better.. got so much more feeling through the FFB to as what the car/wheels are do...

the new 2.06 Update has made it better, more smooth if anything...

    Simulation (Stimulation was not available)
    Power Assist Off
FFB 10 (or whatever the highest is)
Never use TCS and ABS 1.
I generally drive with limited clothing and have my hands at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock.
Anything else you'd like to know Rumbles?

does it sit to the left or does it sit to the right?
can you tie it in a knot?
can you lay back and stick it in your belly button?
lastly does it have it own crash helmet and race suit?
    :p :p

Well, I have tried it (no power assist) with a couple of different cars. It feels so much better :)

I also pumped the FFB to full which, with the patch, makes it feel great. I didn't adjust it after I got the stability poles for my cockpit because, before that, anything over 5 would shake the hell out of the wheel mount.

Hey how'd you know how I drive?! You been helping Aussie case my place out before the burg?
But seriously this is same as what I used with my G25, except I usually went ABS 0 and default sensitivity (0 I think). Pants are optional.

I run G27 on a 'racebase' -widebody version (which has been awesome).
    Full FFB
Simulation off (because GT5 says its not suitable for G27???)
    Power assist off.
No driving aids and 0 abs
    Ahh yes and sensitivity 0

I still have to attach the H pattern gear stick to the racebase which i just haven't done because i've been driving GT5 instead :) but i'm gonna get onto it.

You build the race base yourself, you should post some pics here.
