G'day members of GT League Oz. My name is Paulie and I am the owner of Lion's Den Performance from GT Planet. I offer a vast number of tunes, and will take requests on the proviso you do a review for me first. I am also a member of Trans Tasman Racing. My garage can be found here: Lion's Den Performance Visitor Pass
Make no mistake, I've been tuning in Gran Turismo for years now, so hopefully you'll find the quality of my tunes as good as what others tend to. Please also take notice of post #2 in Lion's Den Performance, as it is Lion's Den Performance Racing, where I house all my race car tunes. All the cars that have their Performance Points listed beside them are the ones with updated gear ratios since the update that allows us to change them.
You may also notice I am creating a series known as Group X Touring Cars (a spin off of our own Predator Edition X extreme road cars), which is basically going to be like the Australian Touring Car Masters in some aspects. I hope to run a championship with it soon, on Saturday nights.

    Thanks for your time. :)

Nice work Paulie, thanks for sharing your tunes with us, and welcome to our little piece of paradise.
Are you a racer as well, you're welcome to join one (or more) of our up-coming series.

    :)

Yeah I'm a racer, sounds like I'll be joining your Sunday same make series in Division 1. If you're familiar with the GTP Registry I'm in Div.1 Silver there, although I don't necessarily have the time to put in it like I used to.

Sure, a review basically means telling me how you thought the car went. How did it handle? Oversteer, understeer? In what aspects of cornering, entry, mid-corner, exit? How was the gearing? Etc Etc. However if you're looking for the R35 Calsonic GT-R for Super GT, I already have a tune for that one, just check post #2 which is Lion's Den Performance Racing.

Sweet, I'll try out the GT-R tune later today. Pies, all the different "brands" of the GT-R are basically the same, so the tune Paulie has up should work (They're all '08 GT-R's).

    :)

Yes it will. I've tested it myself, even the Stealth Version with more power and less weight still drives exactly the same with my setup. So please do use the GT500 GT-R setup I already have.

Cheers Paulie. We've currently got a Super GT500 series running on Wednesday nights which we are all tuning for.
Should be interesting for to compare tunes and results.

Checked out your Lion's Den and you've clearly put alot of work into it. Looks good. See you on the track Sunday's.

Don't kid yourselves thinking all the gtr's are the same. Just take the woodone advan gtr for a spin.

I may have to try the Woodone version then.

Edit: I just updated the gear ratios and LSD of my GT500 NSX since the update allowing it.

Thanks paulie and welcome. I'll be checking your GT500 GT-R set up later tonight for our Wednesday night comp. Have you done any testing on adding engine and turbo upgrades and then detuning engine to fit pp requirements? Is it better to not do the engine upgrades and leave the limiter at 100%?

Hey Bonus, I can help on this one. It's better to keep the limiter as close to 100% as possible. You can see this in your power and torque curves when applying engine limiting.

The engine limiter is capping your power. So you power curve peak is cut off and goes flat.
This means that your Torque curve peaks and drops off earlier (and possibly more sharply) in the rev range. So, the less engine limiting you have to apply the better.

For instance. I can buy a stage 3 turbo and stage 2 turbo for my NSX. Because I'm capping off less power using the stage 2 turbo I have a better torque curve through the higher rev range. In fact for a set 600PP I find myself with more ultimate power and torque using the stage 2 turbo than the stage 3.

Thanks Koaster i have mucked around a little with it but nothing conclusive came out of my testing with the s2000. I using the high end turbo it seems to be better in the bends when i use half throttle no wheel spin and when i get straight i can use the turbo power. Any way won some money last night going to buy another car and not do the engine upgrades (i had already maxed me car before this series) and do a comparison.

But then there is the alternative of using stage 3 engine tune to gain the extra 2 or 3 hundred rpm. Rpm is gold in motorsport. Hence the reason all major forms of motorsports cap rpm. I like to use this alternative, it allows you to use shorter gearing whilst keeping the same top speed. So a car with more acceleration capabilities.

Yer i have gone with the stage three engine, and standard turbo and its pretty good on most tracks now. And beau i hope i wasn't blocking your view the other night in those last few laps. I had some new tire pace and was trying to catch neishy after my disastrous pit crash, I was stuck on the entrance for a long time while my ai took over and tried to get going again and again and again. Just couldnt seem to get a break on you even though your tires must have been restricting your corner ability.

No mate you weren't blocking me, lol. it was kinda fun to have some company. I it was a funny situation. i felt i might have been ruining your race a bit but at the same time i was paranoid about being caught .
