ROOZ NEWS 3rd Edition - S12 R4 - Sep 8th to sep 15th

Welcome to another edition of ROOZ NEWS sports fans! This week takes our contenders to Special Route Stage 5 Reverse, this was a track with it's challenges of walls, and darkness, and pushed even some of our most seasoned drivers to their limits.

So without further ado we will move into the Division round ups, first up we have N64 with his div 1 round up:

Warrior scored another victory to make it 3/4 for the season from rotor and Mustafur.

In the darkness, the race began, sadly lacking the presence of Zampli, who had decided to retire from the season. His beautiful orange NSX will be missed. There was little change up front, aside from N64 moving up to 4th with Natman chasing close behind, but quickly beginning to struggle.

Rotor and warrior raced off into the distance, with Mustafur barely keeping up. Joe and gary were having a truly fantastic race long duel, unfortunately only to avoid last place.

N64 really struggled on the worn tyres in the 3 way battle with Natman and Anon, losing positoons left right and centre before pitting on lap 13, attempting to undercut. Unfortunately, the rest of the field reacted instantly, and despite making up around 5 seconds, he was still stuck behind Natman.

Warrior and rotor set an incredible precedent of pace up front, and it was by far rotor's strongest performance yet. However, thanks to fresher tyres, warrior caught and passed rotor for the lead with 7 laps to go, and raced off to take the win.

N64 faded horribly in the last 10 laps. With the clear frustration of wrecking his tyres during the rather questionable duel between himself and Natman, and failing to undercut him, he lost concentration and dropped to 8th. Mustafur was a distant 3rd, with Anon getting the jump on Natman. Cyber and tek were the beneficiaries of N64's very poor speed, and gary held off Joe for 9th.

At Suzuka, warrior will be looking to continue his dominance, while Mustafur and rotor will be seeking to take him out. N64 lost 4th in the standings to Anon, and will be out for revenge. He still leads the "Rookies" championship though, a few points ahead of Natman.

We now look to Ad2mny for the "Corner Cararver's" and their antics:

NUGGET-22, Stumbles01, VENDALISM, S_CLOSE, OverDrivve, Dbn26, Dougz32, X-3vi1m00n, disturboed, Ad2mny, emmo46.​

There was a lot of talk leading up to this race about how this race would be, with all the walls and not a very popular track. It turned out to be quite an eventful race and while there were some incidents involving the walls, the majority of the time it was battle city.

NUGGET-22 , VENDALISM and Stumbles01 into turn 1, S_CLOSE waiting to pounce​

NUGGET-22 got an average start from pole, and entering Turn 1 stumbles braked early but VENDALISM went 'all in' around the outside taking 2nd place, and entering the Chicane there was very nearly contact. VENDALISM got a bit sideways trying to get the power down early, and Stumbles01's hesitation to avoid a collision allowed S_CLOSE to slip past them both and begin his pursuit of NUGGET-22. OverDrivve got a shocker of a start and was second last by Turn 1, and he only just managed to hold off emmo46 in the chicane. disturboed followed X-3vi1m00n through the pack and they both made up 3 places, with disturboed passing X-3vi1m00n at the chicane and settling in behind VENDALISM and Stumbles01.

So by Turn 5, NUGGET-22 and S_CLOSE were already pulling away, and then there were 3 packs of 3 drivers battling for position: VENDALISM, Stumbles01 and disturboed - X-3vi1m00n, Dbn26 and Dougz32 - Ad2mny, emmo46 and OverDrivve.

VENDALISM made a strange mistake out of Turn 10, and seemed to turn in way too early for Turn 11 (perhaps trying to start a drift but not succeeding) and colliding heavily with the inside wall. Stumbles01 who was in hot pursuit had no time to react and rammed into his rear causing him to spin out and drop back a fair way behind last. disturboed also rear ended VENDALISM earning himself a collision penalty and allowing X-3vi1m00n to come zooming through past them both. Dbn26 and Dougz32 had also joined onto the back of the battle and it was very hectic entering the Turn 15 tunnel.

X-3vi1m00n, Dbn26 and VENDALISM​

Lap 2, OverDrivve was starting to make up positions, getting back past emmo46, then a fishtailing disturboed out of the Chicane. emmo46 messed up his entry into Turn 8 and allowed Ad2mny past when he hit the outside wall Turn 9. Dougz32 was trying everywhere to get past VENDALISM but just could not quite manage it. Eventually he lost his spot on lap 3 to Dbn26 at Turn 13.

Lap 4, VENDALISM ran too deep into Turn 1 trying to pass X-3vi1m00n, and a fishtail by VENDALISM in the Chicane allowed X-3vi1m00n to pull away, with Dbn26 and Dougz32 slipping past too. Meanwhile, Stumbles01 had caught back up to the rear and passed emmo46 at Turn 1, but emmo46 took advantage of his late entry and slow exit and retook the position at the Chicane.

VENDALISM got good drive out of Turn 7,and repassed Dougz32 through Turn 8-9. OverDrivve tried a pass on Dougz32 in the tunnel, but as he exited he turned in on Dougz32 thinking he was past and fishtailed up the hill ending with a spin into the pit entry causing an early pitstop.

Lap 5, Stumbles01 passed emmo46 into Turn 1 and made it stick. disturboed and Dougz32 got very sideways into Turn 7, with Dougz32 gaining 6th position around the outside. Ad2mny behind could not get close enough to them to take any advantage, however disturboed clipped the inside wall at Turn 13 causing him to spin and allowing Ad2mny to pass. emmo46 was unable to avoid his sideways car and collided fairly heavily. By the time disturboed recovered he was in 10th.

Lap 6, it was a fierce battle for 3rd, and X-3vi1m00n took it from Dbn26 at Turn 1, while VENDALISM watched on waiting for his opportunity. Stumbles01 was sweating on Ad2mny's 7th place as they both started reeling in Dougz32. VENDALISM got past Dbn26 as he lost traction exiting Turn 7, but a bad entry into the Chicane next lap (Lap 7) let him get back past.

Dougz32 got an awesome run through Turn 8-9 and snuck between Dbn26 and VENDALISM. A touch of the outside wall by Ad2mny at Turn 11 allowed Stumbles01 past and a bit of rubbing between Dbn26 and Dougz32 dropped the latter back in front of VENDALISM with Stumbles01 blasting past up the inside entering the tunnel.

Lap 8, Dbn26 had caught up to X-3vi1m00n and tried a dive around the outside at Turn 7 but could not get past, however a mistake through Turn 8-9 causing X-3vi1m00n to run wide and hit the outside wall allowed Dbn26 to pass. Stumbles01 came up alongside a recovering X-3vi1m00n then a weird glitch made X-3vi1m00n appear to jump forward then spin again as he collided with the outside wall at Turn 11. Stumbles01 could not avoid a collision, and Dougz32 and VENDALISM roared past them both.

VENDALISM passed Dougz32 at Turn 1 lap 9,and then Stumbles01 passed him at the same place lap 10. emmo46 was struggling a bit for grip and slid through Turn 5 + 6. A mistake on exit of Turn 7 turned him around and let disturboed catch and pass him.

Ad2mny snuck up the inside of Dougz32 in the tunnel and as they exited Dougz32 turned in to pit, followed by disturboed. Overdrivve caught up to emmo46 and by lap 12 X-3vi1m00n had latched onto their rear. Dbn26 pitted this lap, and OverDrivve pitted lap 13.

S_CLOSE, who was having a quiet but fierce lap-time battle with NUGGET-22 pitted on lap 15, followed by VENDALISM and Ad2mny, and lap 16 saw NUGGET-22, Stumbles01, emmo46 and X-3vi1m00n take their pitstops.

Lap 17, Dbn26 was pushing VENDALISM for 4th place, and Stumbles01 was catching Ad2mny, who had managed to repass during the pitstops, trying to get back his 6th place. OverDrivve took 8th place from disturboed when he ran wide into Turn 13.

Stumbles01 drafted past Ad2mny at Turn 1 lap 19. They stayed side by side into the Chicane but Stumbles01 held the position. Lap 20 Ad2mny drafted up and tried a pass on the inside Turn 1 but as they entered the Chicane he touched Stumbles01's rear wheel as he turned in and pushed him so sideways that Ad2mny thought for sure he was going to spin, but he pulled out of it like a champion, and with Ad2mny's hesitation, pulled a good 5 car lengths and was safely into 6th.

VENDALISM had slowly reeled Dougz32 in and a bad run through Turn 6 + 7 allowed him to pass into 3rd. Dougz32 and disturboed made their final stops on lap 21, and OverDrivve made his on lap 24. Stumbles01 slowly closed in on Dbn26 and by lap 26 was right on his case. Stumbles01 got a good run out of Turn 13, stayed on his outside through Turn 14, and was ahead into the tunnel.

Lap 27, Ad2mny struggling on his rear tyres got a fishtail out of the tunnel and spun out on the Main Straight. By the time he recovered, Dougz32, who had been slowly gaining on him, passed and took his 6th place.

emmo46 and OverDrivve had some good dices in the latter part of the race.​

Lap 29, OverDrivve passed X-3vi1m00n into Turn 1 for 9th, and a powerslide into the tunnel by Dbn26 allowed Stumbles01 to move into 4th. Dbn26 came back through by Turn 5 and held position until another slide Turn 9 had him shooting off into the outside wall and spinning out. A very slow recovery allowed Dougz32 to pass him as well leaving him to finish in a lonely 6th.

OverDrivve was all over emmo46 on the final lap but emmo46 made his NSX very wide and held him off to the line.



An action packed race with some very close racing (aside from the top 2 way out in front - well done NUGGET-22 and S_CLOSE, plus VENDALISM for 3rd). Next up, Suzuka enduro.

This week saw a good turn out with nine drivers lining up for what would become an action packed race.

t_b_williams pole, Darko, Leeboy, Sparklehead, BJH,Hazeone, Darkace, Clevohead, HSV_butters.​

THE BATTLE BEGINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!​

The field stormed down to turn 1 with Sparklehead picking up two places putting him into second, while Darko unfortunately slipped back two ending up fourth only to slip further back behind BJ over the lap. Further back Clevo also moved ahead two spots to 6th.


By the end of the first lap, Darko was all over the rear bumper of BJ and with a good run down the main straight, made the move stick up the inside into turn 1.

But the action had only just begun.......

Leeboy was able to slip by Sparklehead on the way into turn 13 after Sparkle got a little loose through 12, only for Sparkle to stay in touch and get a good run down the main straight allowing a move up the inside even before the first turn on lap 4.

The battle continued until Leeboy got by again later in the lap when Sparkle hit the wall, then ran wide at the hairpin.

By turn 1 lap 5, Darko had closed the gap and was on the back of Sparkle wanting a podium position, but Sparkle saw his chance at regaining 2nd through turn 5 after Leeboy ran wide and hit the wall. But Sparkle got loose out of the hairpin allowing Leeboy back past. This was quite the battle and Darko wanted in on the action, and he through it down the inside at (you guessed it) turn 1, but to no avail as it didn't stick.

The following lap Darko tried again only to fail once more, going in too hot. Lap 8 saw yet another failed attempt into turn 1 and then it got messy into the hairpin when Darko ran into the side of Sparkle but being the great drivers that we 'DAWGS' are, he made sure not to take advantage.

Darko finally made it past through the tunnel on lap nine, but Sparkle wasn't done. He fired down the inside into (this is getting predictable) turn 1, but went in too hot and lost time to Darko who now had a firm grasp on the final podium position.

As the battle raged on up the front, further back Darkace, Hazeone and Clevohead had been trading places early on, but now were all seperated by large gaps with an equipment hindered HSV rounding out the field.( hard luck mate).

Haze was the first to pit on lap 11 while everybody else held station for a while. That is until Sparkle came in on lap 15

dropping him back to 6th behind BJ and Darkace. Leeboy, Darko, and Darkace(any relation) all stopped on lap 16 with T_B_ and BJ pushing on running longer first stints with BJ stopping on lap 17 and T_B_ on lap 18. BJ then dropped back down to 5th running what looked like a lonely race while T_B_ had a big enough margin to stay out in front and now had fresh tyres for a short last stint on a low fuel load. And with that, set out to run the quickest lap he could. After a few hairy moments it finally came on lap 20, putting down a 1:30.082.

After an action packed first half the field pretty much rolled on home with T_B_ taking the win with a comfortable lead, with Leeboy in second and Darko third.

Well done 'DRIFT DAWGS'! With our pace we are putting some of the Div 2 drivers and even a couple of Div 1 boys to shame.
