Snake!!! How the hell are you man?! Jeez I thought you and Aussie must have run off together and started a cult?!?! How's the kid, or is it kids?? Well, I hope you're dragging the wheel out for GT6, it'd be good to get into the practice rooms and have a laugh at least.

Haha! Aussie left for Wollongong if I remember correctly, I'm still slumming it in the hill unfortunately.
The little girl's doing well thanks man, as for GT6, I haven't picked it up and probably won't tbh mate, Forza 5's got me hooked for now, definitely looking forward to The first PS4 instalment of GT though.

On another note, I'm looking at picking up a MadCatz fight stick TE2 and it just so happens Gamesmen have them in stock, any feedback on them? I noticed they're ROOZ sponsors and I'll buy through them if all is good...

Good to hear you're still racing mate. You should look up the OZFM boys, they'd have some events running in FM5 for sure. Aussie was on the other night and he seems to be going well.

As for the Madcatz gear...no idea man?? Gamesmen have been a top notch sponsor though.

I got my new cockpit fellas!

Before, the stool and table combo was horrifically uncomfortable.

But now, the GTPro is absolutely miles more comfortable. It's going to take awhile to get used to the higher driving position, but I'm loving it. It makes it so much more immersive.
I would be uploading pictures but the website is saying that the images are too large. Is there a way to combat that? I'm so happy Pagnian and NLR are sponsors, or else I might not have ever found out about them!

    Cheers, Jono

The forum can only host lowish resolution pictures. Either reduce the res in paint or something, or upload to photobucket or whatever first.

    Have plans if anyone interested.
Come and check out motion sims at www.xsimulator.net.
The software is free and 100% working nothing held back on it , Internet free, you dont need internet for it to work like XSIM does,
We are a diy community that helps each other build their own dream machines.
Thought I would share the news.
http://www.xsimulator.net/simtools-motion-simulator-software/ check it out we now support over 40 games. An oldie but a goodie has recently been added Richard Burns Rally, F1 2013 is amazing in motion too.
As well we are developing dashboard controls too which will all be documented for all to reproduce. An Example below.

Come check us out, tell them I sent ya. Thanks.:)

This is my rig I've been putting together since November. Still have to paint and finish carpet but it's so much fun I keep get sidetracked racing.

haha beer bottle holder is on the to do list at some point. yep its a g27 wheel with an adaptor and cheap knock off steering wheel. i loose the buttons but feels so much more realistic with the 350mm wheel.

The handbrake is connected up to the to button on the g27 too so a fully working handbrake. picked the handbrake up cheap of ebay. Its a leather stitched unit out of a forester xt.

it also has a cheap 5.1 amp under the seat thats powering surround speakers and a diy tactile transducer under the seat (12" sub ripped apart similiar to this https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&...EO6gvpuU6JXzHSaP8wu2AUw&bvm=bv.58187178,d.aGc

I think i bought the g27 2 years ago and the seat a year or so ago so been slowly gathering parts until i had all of them. now its together and i'm making time to race.. doesnt help my lap times yet but keen as to get into series 1 this year .

Hey guys thought id post a few more pics of my setup. Pretty ghetto yet highly effective....

First step was to get some ice for the carton of beer to be consumed during construction then heading to bunnings to grab some non-structural pine. This cost about $2.50 per 3m length and I only used about 4 or so lengths.

Next was to start making the base for the spare bucket seat with seat rails I had lying around.

Next up was making the frame to hold the wheel. I put a few extra pieces across it to keep it solid.

Made a simple shifter platform and a spot for the pedals to sit on out of MDF. It was time to move it inside to test it all out. The whole rig is slightly heavier than I hoped but can easily be moved with 2 people.
So after a nights worth of beers and testing the rig worked great! However the seat was getting to be a bit uncomfortable after a few hours.
So finally I swapped the bucket seat with a passenger seat out of my old AE86, put strips of carpet on the bottom to make it easy to slide around and gave everything a coat of paint to make it look nice.

All up it cost around $20 for materials, a carton of beer and a Sunday afternoon. Might not be the flashiest rig around but it works and it was cheap. Eventually id like to weld up a metal frame for it, but for now this works great :)
