Cheers Joe, I'll give it a shot but I feel the issue may be the wheel. The only reason I'm trying is because I have a husky that comes and lays in this room with me when I play and I just noticed some fur under the pedal mounts on my rig so it's possible that the AC has blown some in.

@Joeninety did you notice or know whether the pot should have movement from this side when the pedal is depressed? Reason I ask is I notice the small tab on the inner side is almost aligned with the hole in the frame but isn't actually in there and the black plastic cog where the pedal and pot meet looks like it isn't as straight as the other two.
When pressing the pedal there is a bit of rotation on the back of the pot as shown in the pic below.

Ok, took apart another pot casing and can see that this is not supposed to move at all. I think this is the issue. Need to figure out how to tighten it now. I guess it's a case of adjusting the nuts. (Queue joke about adjusting nuts)

Best of luck with the wheel, fingers crossed one day you actually get a decent set of gear to race with!

Cheers and don't worry mate, just trying to have a laugh as you were. I think the pot is stuffed. I reckon the movement has allowed one of the contacts to scrape the surface.

Mate, DeOx-it Gold. No better product.
I run a sim pit with various pots(also in the flight sticks) and this is hands down the best cleaner. About $20 for the two small cans, but follow the instructions and in no time.....whola!

Even better head down to you local Electrical Supplies store e.g Rexel, Ideal or L&H and pick yourself up a can of contact cleaner, drown the pot in that stuff so it gets on the inside, pump the pedal a heap of times

You don't reckon that scrape on the surface will cause issues?

It seems to have been caused by a cross threaded nut, made the whole thing sit unevenly. I reckon it might be better returned to TM.

So who's got two thumbs and has just fixed his pedals?

    No, not you. It's me...

Cheers for the input guys. I just put the pot together, removed the extra nut that sits against the pot so that the tab could fit into the frame and stop it rotating when pressing the brake and put it all back together again and it's working great. Gave the pot a good soaking with isopropyl as well just to be sure.

Aaaaand the brake died again after a few laps. I'll put up with using the clutch until the weekend race and send it off for replacement before I head off on holiday.

Could someone with a T500 do me a favor and take a look at the socket where the pedals plug in and tell me whether the contacts in there are all level? I just figured out what was up with my first set of pedals. The plug that went in there was mishaped and didn't allow the contact that was obviously for the non working clutch to touch the other contact in the wheel base. I reshaped the plug using a scalpel and they now work perfectly. I'm now wondering if the contacts in the wheel base are a little bent causing my pedal issues I've been having. Maybe stuff is touching in there that shouldn't be (like Seth and Ben on a dirty weekend)
