@Zharvs92
I'm only making this post because I wish to amicably contest what you said, because I feel misquoted.
Referring back to my sentence, it continues after the semi-colon:
'... I think it's just time that I faced facts, and came to terms with my values being different to how this championship is going to turn out.'
I just can't race in this championship if I'm not going to feel fulfilled racing at the end of the day. That's the crux of it. The race was fun, but the game itself was what was fun, not the merits of the competition. I have league racing values that I find are growing more and more divergent from the console scene generally, and it might be time that I got into the PC scene.
I don't race anywhere outside of ROOZ, and I'd never advocate to race elsewhere, but there are leagues out there that are doing it right and eliminating unequal playing fields. Here's an example on the CM forum:

If penalties were on Strict, I wouldn't have anything to comment on to begin with, because I'd say: 'wow, you really cut those corners. I wish the game cracked down on corner cutting more...'
Debates about the merits of traction control and other aids are simply healthy debates - the results of which I am most fine with and always have been, after it's been firmly established that the field is rendered unequal. That's fine.
But if corner cutting is something this championship is fine with in a plight to fill a grid, then I have nothing more to say.
