Qualified 2nd by .1 behind @StuRichards and in front of a fast Mediums runner @NAACS After sorting out sight issues, we started but sturich had a handbrake issue and false started allowing me to lead. Eventually he caught back up on lap 3 and passed me on the back straight but on lap 4 early he made an error and let me through again. After the pitstops I was being caught up by @Ian Cannan but it was too late and I took the win
Well done to the podium, this consistency the top guys have is out of my league ! So many mistakes in every race ! Im making up the numbers. Anyway, Im out next sunday, its the wifes birthday on sunday and the sons on Monday. So, sundays a busy one. Enjoy the precipitation, I had a quick go last night and its a nightmare on SS's
Looking at changing the Time of Day for the wet sprint race 2 for Sunday to something with a lighter rain setting. Hope to confirm in the next day or 2
Here's some comparative data on the Mazda TC on the short circuit. Comfort Softs actually faster in the heavy rain than Sports Softs. 04:45 (light rain) CS 1.07.252 SS 1.08.801 10:45 (heavy rain) CS 1.08.871 SS 1.13. 205 17:30 (light rain) CS 1.05.184 SS 1.04. 344
Long track this season, that's just comparative data for the different TOD's from season testing a while back
I did a couple of practice laps on the SS for the TOD and thought it was OK and good fun. "Racing" and the slightest touch under braking is likely to be an issue on this track in the wet.
I did a spin in the later TOD rain setting and it was AOK on Sport Softs. I haven't tried the 'Heavy Rain' setting though.
Updated OP with changes to lap count and time of day for the wet sprint race: Round 5: Red Bull Ring - 13 & 12 Laps - 7:45 Fine & 17:30 Rain - 7/3 - Sprint
we will qualify for race one on a particular tyre, lets say SS and use that for the race. can SS be used for race two or not?
