I have cobbled together a reliable accelerator pedal for my G29 so am hoping to be able to lap a bit more consistenly at Bathurst. The flutter was costing me up to 2 seconds a lap when I did a little testing at Bathurst a couple of nights ago.

I'm going out tonight but will most likely be back right around Quali start time of 8:15. If I'm back in time, I'll race (hopefully qualify too) and can take over as host, but I think we'll need a backup host tonight just in case.
Sorry for doing this 2 weeks in a row.

Congrats guys! What a shocking race ok my part. I qualified in 8th place, I was well off the pace. I had no practice and no idea what the strategy would be. By lap 10 of the race my tyres were looking fine and I thought my fuel was just under half, with a bit of management I thought I'd be able to make it to the end without stopping. I changed my fuel map to 3 thinking that would do it but as the race went on it became pretty clear I was using to much fuel. Changed to map 6, cruising toward the finish dropping places. Second last lap I had to pit for fuel just to finish the race. I should have been last if not worse luck for others. Grabbed third last on the final straight.

Other than all that I found the race pretty boring. Nowhere near the excitement of the last few race, for me anyway.

    Thanks everyone.

    Speaking of worst luck/poor planning...
Qualified 6th and was holding onto 4th for a while then 5th by a fair margin.. it was all going well, too well. Consistent laps, great tyre strategy, but unfortunate fuel strategy. I was driving up to the top of the hill on map 2, then 3..4...5...6, on the last lap! Eventually, the minute i was descending down conrod straight, it was all over 0.0% fuel. The first race all season where i was doing reasonably well ruined by trying to be quick out of the pits and believing the rem. lap fuel suggestion in the pit lane.

Thought i'd save the moment, find the run of shame below including the hazard lights:

Another fun night for me, I had no answer for @Easyprey007 s pace, I qualified 3rd and held that for a couple of laps with pressure from @fezza. After a few laps @RBRHoges97 grazed the outside wall at Forest elbow and I was able to close for a close battle and managed to pass down the straight I think a lap or two later. he stayed on my tail and closed going up the hill and I thought he was going to pass on the inside at turn 2 so eased back but he didn't pass so we lost ground to easy. The next lap he was closer and I eased again but he was hesitant again so I stayed wide but was too wide and hit the outside wall causing mayhem. RBR and Fezza were affected the most I think and I waited until all but @Dybo passed before I turned it around, I didn't want to ruin too many with my error. That lost me 35 seconds and I was a looong way back. I didn't make up much except when people seem to lose time to errors and I thought 8th was probably going to be it for me.
After my pit stop on lap 10 I came out 9th a few seconds behind @arnold watson and @ControllaGod and closed on them over a couple of laps until I was right on their tail heading to skyline. Unfortunately dybo was parked sideways across the track and Arnold and I collided with him. Controlla got through and opened a slight gap on me and arnold was a little behind. It took me a couple of laps to catch contolla again but an error from him let me though and I was 6th. I then managed a pass on @Tk31 when he made a slight error and then @Dash_Vanguard who was crawling along with fuel issues. All that got me back to 4th. I thoroughly enjoyed most of it except getting thoroughly thrashed by @Easyprey007 .

No practice for me either this round, so my expectations weren't high. Started 7th and managed to keep it pretty clean, at least for the first half. Like emmo said, I was lucky to avoid a big 3-car collision. I managed to make up a couple of places at the end as a few struggled with fuel, putting me up to 5th (which I think is actually 3rd), so to get a podium from a pretty mediocre race for me is a great result. I had fun with some good, tight battles. Well done to both Easy and Hoges for the win, plus Fezza for their first podium of the season.

    Round 7: 02/07 - Suzuka Circuit - 21 Laps - Custom Weather - Sunrise - 12x

WELCOME to Season 5 for Gran Turismo 7!!
As always please take a couple minutes to read the following so you have an understanding of what is expected on race night.
If you have any questions, or want clarification on any of the rules or regulations please ask!

    ROOM OPEN:
Room captains may have practice rooms open beforehand but should have the official room up by 8pm AEST. Please be on time, or let the room captain or div thread know if you may be late. If all agree, the room may wait for you, Within reason. Please remember we have drivers from NZ, and later starts mean a much later night for them.

    SIGHT ISSUES:
Before qualifying, exit to lobby and spend 30 seconds in spectate mode, scroll through the list of drivers on track and make sure that you can see their car. If you can't see somebody (and they are confirmed as being on track), exit the lobby, re-join, and check again. Type the number of cars you can see in the lobby chat and cross check with other drivers to ensure clarity.

    QUALIFYING : 8:10pm AEST for 10 mins.
Feel free to run practice laps prior to qualifying, The host will trigger a 'Room Reset' closer to the commencement of Qualifying.

    PITS ARE OPEN DURING QUALIFYING

RACE START TIME : 8:25pm AEST

    LAG ISSUES / ROOM RESTARTS:
This is up to the room host/captains. If there is a Disconnection (or cars stuck on grid) at race start, it is sporting to try to get them back in, which may mean a new room to be set up. I would suggest only having 1 restart if required due to DSC, due to having to set up the room from scratch and also having to set timed laps in order to set the grid. Please be as reasonable as you can with this....

    TURN 1 LAP 1:
The old saying goes, you can’t win the race on lap 1, but you can definitely lose it. Please be mindful of other drivers on lap 1 coming into turn 1, and for that matter, the entire race. It can be very demoralizing to hot lap on your own for 45 minutes as I'm sure many of you are aware.

    TRACK LIMITS:
As we are running with 'track limit penalties" OFF, we will run with our usual Raceonoz track limit regulations. This means you MUST have at least 2 wheels on the ripple strip OR white line that defines the track limit. If you do make a mistake and have to run outside the limits, be aware that you are not allowed to gain any advantage, position or time wise. Track Limits protests may be launched by any active driver in the race.

Track Limits will be monitored at turns 8, 16 and 17.

    CONTACT:
Is to be avoided at all times..... If you make contact with someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Occasionally, Gran Turismo track limits may teleport a disadvantaged driver backwards on circuit to ‘reset’ them, if this occurs at the hand of another driver, IT IS EXPECTED that the driver at fault will wait and redress the position.
Side by side 'rubbing' is racing is allowed and promoted within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room. For clarity surrounding racing room, please feel free to PM @Viperzed
Show each other RESPECT! It is difficult enough to drive the car at the limit on your own, without someone squeezing you within a millimeter of the grass.
So be patient and show respect to your fellow drivers.
If you are redressing contact, please do so out of the way of other cars, off the racing line, or if there isn't much room, off track.

    PIT ENTRY/EXIT LINES:
Pit Line Penalties are ON so you will be penalised in game if you cut any part of the entry or exit lines. Be mindful entering the pits that the lines are tight and the chicane in entry can be very misleading. You may receive a penalty for overstepping the mark on entry. On pit exit, cars exiting the lane are to stay drivers right if they are rejoining in traffic.

    BLUE FLAGS:
Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

    STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS:
This season, the Head Steward will be @Viperzed. If you have reason to protest, please SAVE YOUR REPLAY, and then let him know via a PM.
DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE FORUM OR IN THE ROOM CHAT. There have been multiple incidents where the replays from drivers have been different, so its true that sometimes things are not as black and white as they may seem. You have until MIDNIGHT, Monday night to register your protest via PM. Stewards may ask for video evidence from both drivers or room captains to make any decision.

    SAVE YOUR REPLAY:
If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved!

    PARKING UP:
If you are unable to continue to race, please enter the pits and leave your game paused without selecting tyres so that your car stays parked in the pits. Parking up off track activates yellow flags in the sector, and even though penalties are off, we have reports of penalties occurring for passes happening near the parked car. Quitting off track results in a sometimes race ending lag spike and may be punished in extreme scenarios.

    ATTENDANCE:
Could all drivers please inform Room Captains or make a post on the division thread if they do not intend on racing on Sunday night, Room Captains/ Lobby Hosts are advised not to wait for anyone who has not communicated their intentions. If you do not post in your room thread or psn chat that you cannot attend, a spot may not be held for you for the following weeks race.

    TRACK SPECIFIC - Suzuka Circuit

We come to our final round of what has been a very long season! Suzuka's flowing opening sector is an iconic bit of road, and requires bravery to attempt a pass through there. Much of Suzukas tarmac is full commitment and side by side is not a regular sight, especially if the forecast calls for rain. Remember too it is retro round so put your colours on display and show off your artistic side!

I hope you all enjoy the final round here in Japan and take a much needed break before we get the ball rolling for another very special Season 51 later in the year!

Thanks for the great season guys! I had so many awesome race because everyone raced so clean. I didn't get much practice in again so wasn't sure what the strategy would be, I had to make one up on the fly. I guess it worked out alright for me. The plan was to change to mediums and hope I had more grip left at the end of the race than everyone else. Hopefully now I can find some time to start resident evil 8 VR before next season starts.
