WELCOME to Season 8 for Gran Turismo 7!!
As always please take a couple minutes to read the following so you have an understanding of what is expected on race night.
If you have any questions, or want clarification on any of the rules or regulations please ask!

    ROOM OPEN:
Room captains may have practice rooms open beforehand but should have the official room up by 7:30pm AEDT. Please be on time, or let the room captain or div thread know if you may be late. If all agree, the room may wait for you, Within reason. Please remember we have drivers from NZ, and later starts mean a much later night for them.

    SIGHT ISSUES:
Before qualifying, exit to lobby and spend 30 seconds in spectate mode, scroll through the list of drivers on track and make sure that you can see their car. If you can't see somebody (and they are confirmed as being on track), exit the lobby, re-join, and check again. Type the number of cars you can see in the lobby chat and cross check with other drivers to ensure clarity.

    QUALIFYING : 8pm AEDT for 10 mins.
Feel free to run practice laps prior to qualifying, The host will trigger a 'Room Reset' closer to the commencement of Qualifying.

    PITS ARE OPEN DURING QUALIFYING

RACE START TIME : 8:15pm AEDT

    LAG ISSUES / ROOM RESTARTS:
This is up to the room host/captains. If there is a Disconnection (or cars stuck on grid) at race start, it is sporting to try to get them back in, which may mean a new room to be set up. I would suggest only having 1 restart if required due to DSC, due to having to set up the room from scratch and also having to set timed laps in order to set the grid. Please be as reasonable as you can with this....

    TURN 1 LAP 1:
The old saying goes, you can’t win the race on lap 1, but you can definitely lose it. Please be mindful of other drivers on lap 1 coming into turn 1, and for that matter, the entire race. It can be very demoralizing to hot lap on your own for 45 minutes as I'm sure many of you are aware.

    TRACK LIMITS:
As we are running with 'track limit penalties" OFF, we will run with our usual Raceonoz track limit regulations. This means you MUST have at least 2 wheels on the ripple strip OR white line that defines the track limit. If you do make a mistake and have to run outside the limits, be aware that you are not allowed to gain any advantage, position or time wise. Track Limits protests may be launched by any active driver in the race.

Track Limits will be monitored at turns 2, 3, 9 and 10 as well as generally around the entire circuit. Track limits will be defined as two wheels on the red and white kerb, or white line, whichever is further out. The exit of turn 4 is able to be extended over the white line without incurring a penalty.

    CONTACT:
Is to be avoided at all times..... If you make contact with someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Occasionally, Gran Turismo track limits may teleport a disadvantaged driver backwards on circuit to ‘reset’ them, if this occurs at the hand of another driver, IT IS EXPECTED that the driver at fault will wait and redress the position.
Side by side 'rubbing' is racing is allowed and promoted within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room. For clarity surrounding racing room, please feel free to PM @Viperzed
Show each other RESPECT! It is difficult enough to drive the car at the limit on your own, without someone squeezing you within a millimeter of the grass.
So be patient and show respect to your fellow drivers.
If you are redressing contact, please do so out of the way of other cars, off the racing line, or if there isn't much room, off track.

    PIT ENTRY/EXIT LINES:
Pit Line Penalties are ON so you will be penalised in game if you cut any part of the entry or exit lines. Be mindful entering the pits that you will need to commit to the right prior to the final corner but after the chicane. You may receive a penalty for misjudging your line on entry. Be mindful not to impede other cars on your way in. On pit exit, cars exiting the lane are reminded to keep drivers right if there are any cars approaching, you will have to give them space.

    BLUE FLAGS:
Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

    STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS:
This season, the Head Steward will be @Viperzed. If you have reason to protest, please SAVE YOUR REPLAY, and then let him know via a PM.
DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE FORUM OR IN THE ROOM CHAT. There have been multiple incidents where the replays from drivers have been different, so its true that sometimes things are not as black and white as they may seem. You have until MIDNIGHT, Monday night to register your protest via PM. Stewards may ask for video evidence from both drivers or room captains to make any decision.

    SAVE YOUR REPLAY:
If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved!

    PARKING UP:
If you are unable to continue to race, please enter the pits and leave your game paused without selecting tyres so that your car stays parked in the pits. Parking up off track activates yellow flags in the sector, and even though penalties are off, we have reports of penalties occurring for passes happening near the parked car. Quitting off track results in a sometimes race ending lag spike and may be punished in extreme scenarios.

    ATTENDANCE:
Could all drivers please inform Room Captains or make a post on the division thread if they do not intend on racing on Sunday night, Room Captains/ Lobby Hosts are advised not to wait for anyone who has not communicated their intentions. If you do not post in your room thread or psn chat that you cannot attend, a spot may not be held for you for the following weeks race.

    TRACK SPECIFIC - Nurburgring Sprint
The sprint round once again returns in a format that had always been a fan favourite, and this time at an official "Sprint" circuit! We will tonight have 3 shortened races, with reverse grids for the second two based off previous results, which should provide a fun night for all!

Had some good racing, wasn't expecting much and was well off the pace despite 5 race distance tests. Qualified 12th for race 1 and then was up to 8th, two faster cars came through and I finished 10th. Started 5th in race 2 and took the lead at turn 1 to lead until lap 9 where I was finally pushed under and dropped back to to 3rd. Last race started near the back and improved as others had problems to finish 9th I think. Mostly kept out of trouble, last 2 times we raced here I was taken off, and enjoyed it.

As a group we need to race smarter and cleaner.

Too many issues with little taps and then making passes from them instead of clean passes.

I did see some taps that weren't taken advantage of and other incidents that were redressed which is good.

On the really bad side, I saw deliberate retaliation for an incident where a pass wasn't completed due to said incident

    We need to do better.

Quali wasn't great, but wasn't terrible, out of p11 for the first race.
First race was really fun, some good battles i was with @T F Eccles & @emmo46 but i made a mistake at t2 at some point and lost touch & i ended up finishing where i started.
Out of p3 for 2nd race, pretty disappointed in the first minute of the race with the whole lobby, pole sitter jumped the start and ghosted but game unghosted him and i just avoided collecting his rear end. I tried to stay wide in t1 but still got turned into a half spin which put me on the inside grass going to t2, tried to carefully get back on track which i think i did but over the next 3-4 turns there was a lot of bumps etc and found myself already back in the same position where i finished in the previous race but i had some good racing with @Half-Byte + @Bluemoon
Again starting in p3 for race 3 i had my best race of the night certainly found some pace in this one but overshadowed by an incident on lap 7, I hit @Ian Cannan into another driver (this seemed like lag on my end), i let off to not take advantage but this certain individual seemed to think it was Whizz at fault and caused a pretty ridiculous incident right in front of me, sorry if that ruined your race Whizz. I came home in 7th for the final race of the night.

It was a very messy set of sprints. A fair bit of me cocking things up (hopefully not impacting anyone else). And a bit of me being involved in others issues. I suppose the nature of sprints will always bring on a bit of rashness.

Overall I did as expected based on the amount of prep I did for the race. Hopefully I have enough points to stay ahead of @Hatfield. Happy that I got the FLs in each race, and especially so getting into the 31's during the last lap of the last race.

Hopefully the Interlagos round will be a little more issue free.

Happy to see a bit of self-reflection there, well done.
What the sprint rounds tend to do, and especially at a short track like this one, is to compress the field and keep it compressed. Add to that drivers who aren't conserving fuel and tyres i.e. going at it hard, and twitchy car that needs earlier braking and chaos tends to ensue. However, as Hat said, we all need to do better.

    G'day folks
Just wanted to pass by and say Hi. First of all, I won't be attending the final race next weekend as I have a Prior Commitment. Not that it matters much as I have only participated 2 rounds overall. :p
I was very much looking forward to last night as I am only looking to better myself overall and have some good sprints. I can't remember if I have actually partaken in a sprint with ROOZ. Pretty sure my last season was with the Honda HSV or the NISMO GTR in GT6. GT7 is proving to be a very different beast after the amount of Hours I had sunk into GT6.
Qualified dead last which I was disapointed in as I was running a quicker pace in practice. Stayed at the back as I watched a few spills occur every now and then with little to no context given my position. Forgive me for not knowing exactly who I was battling due to me not knowing everyone's in game names yet.
Had to take a quick run to put socks on for the second Race as I felt a blister starting lol. As I got into the Grid start the Socks idea backfired on me and I slipped off the brake on the grid start LOL. (Darn Socks) So I pulled off to the left just in case my car didn't Ghost.
3rd Race start was a little better off the line, except for the mosh pit on turn 1 where I got completely sandwiched and had no where to go and that ended in disaster for many.
Watching the Replays was very interesting.

I watched the replay of the 2nd race, that first lap you must have finished with concussion, I think I was the only car ahead of you at the end of that lap that hadn't given you a touch up.

This has now been increased to 6 points as my protest from tokyo has been appealed and I am back to 2nd in that race.

    TRACK SPECIFIC - Interlagos
The final round of the season takes place on a fully fledged Grand Prix circuit, with twists and turns defining the mid sector of this famous Brazilian circuit. Mid corner speed is king here and setting up your moves for the straights is the smart way to keep yourself on pace!

Tonight is also Retro round! So bring out your creative side and put on show your retro colours.

And that's another season done and dusted! Thankyou everyone for being apart of it and enduring another season for RaceOnOz!

We've had a lot of interest already in the next update seeing as though it's incredibly likely we finally get the Toyota GT One back in Gran Turismo!
It is my FULL intention for this car to be the next season car for Rooz. The one downside to this is that the car will only be available via the Legend Car Dealership, but will certainly be available for at least the first week after release! Pending it's price, I urge you all to complete the most recent time trials, earn some coin and get ready to purchase what will hopefully be our next season car!

    Cheers,
    Viper

Well, that race didn't quite go to plan. Like many other times this season qualifying didn't come together as it had during practice. But I was close enough to @herbie and @Hatfield. The first stint was hard work with just enough pace to stay in touch with the front four. But I did use a bit much fuel and was the first of the group to pit. The second stint was the hardest of the season by far. @RPeeM808 pushed me along very hard for around seven laps with positions being swapped a few times.

Thanks all for the great season. Looking forward to the next, so long as I can grind enough to get the GT One.

Fingers crossed it isn't too expensive. I'm hoping for a nice 5 mil or so. If there are people who don't have it, I won't go forth with the plan. Will go the old fashioned route and find something we all enjoy!

If you need to grind and don't have a grind plan, use your Porsche at the Tokyo 600 race. Fit SH tyres and buy a power limiter to turn it down to <600PP.
