Hi all, Let me take this opportunity to welcome you along to RaceOnOz GT7 Season 8. We're constantly evolving Sunday League to be more inclusive, more competitive with the hope of being more fun! I'm super excited to see what the Porsche gives us this season, it's been a long time since we've run a pure road car. Some of you will see we've committed to running BOP off, standard power and weight with Sports Softs ONLY for this season. This means we can utilise the Brake Controller but also keep the trademark feel of the 911. We're running a low tire wear season to counter for a few different styles of driving this car but may throw a wildcard or two in terms of fuel wear, maybe not! We can discuss over the next week in the "Regulation Discussion" thread. This car benefits from close racing so our priority is to promote on track action.

This season we're once again trialling a Pre Season Qualifying night. This will feature 3x 15 minute Qualifying sessions (With a 5 minute warm up beforehand) at 3 seperate circuits that will assist us in setting up divisions for the season. These Division threads will be initially filled and seeded based off past performance and driver preferences however being a style of car we haven't driven before, we'd like to be able to seed people based off how they will perform this season. At the conclusion of each session, drivers will screenshot their "Session Best" timing screen that includes their best and optimal lap times. These will both be taken into consideration when setting up the divisions. Screenshots will then be sent to the Division PSN chat where I can grab them and put them all together to get the best view possible of how everyone performed!

These qualifying times WILL NOT AFFECT where you start on the grid. We will still be running a quali session on the night of each round, they are purely to assist us with divisions.

Any and all questions are welcome below or via my Inbox.
Thankyou everyone and enjoy the season!

Looking forward to this season. The car is really fun to drive!
My wrist has healed nicely and not giving me much grief at all.
Hopefully we get some good tracks that really suit the Porsche.

Morning all, it's been brought to my attention that due to our settings options to allow Brake Balance, there are minor tuning options available to you all that may fly under the radar of PP, Power and Weight limits. I'd like to make it clear that any drivers found to be exploiting this loophole will not be welcome back for the remainder of this season. It is totally against the RaceOnOz spirit to abuse this loophole and will be firmly looked down on.

It's reccomended to avoid possibly tripping up on this, that for the season you purchase a brand new "fresh" 911 and simply purchase Brake Controller and Sports Softs for it. All and any other options purchased or adjusted are STRICTLY PROHIBITED. I have decide to push through with using the brake controller as I believe I can trust everyone in each division to do the right thing. Prove me right!

    Cheers

Wheels and body are OK to modify right? Not widebody, just skirts and rear wing etc.
These are allowed with BOP on, so just checking this is still OK.

Aero mods and roll cages will push the PP higher than is allowed. They are fine with BOP on as they become purely cosmetic, but with it off the aero gains are noticeable. Bonnet pins and towhooks are fine, as is the optional 'race' grille.

What Risky said! PD the clever cookies have made all bodywork influence the aero balance of the car so they won't be allowed. Wheels and any other minor cosmetic stuff is encouraged for individuality though!

    Hi all,

In light of the insecurities brought on as a result of allowing brake balance and running without BOP, we have decided to reverse this decision and prohibit the Brake Controller and turn BOP on. This should retain the same power levels but ensure a tighter field in light of any mistakes or settings changes.

This decision was made to ensure the tightest field possible after testing showed that settings changes can allow a large drop in lap times while still retaining the same PP, Power and Weight levels. Drivers may not have done this on purpose however as we found that some settings carried over accidentally.

I apologise for any inconvenience caused, I respect that the car does indeed get more difficult to drive as a result of not having Brake Balance available, it requires a lighter touch.

Thankyou for your patience and I look forward to seeing many of you next week!
    Cheers

Well we can add "cosmetic" items like skirts, splitter and other wings without issue now. A silver lining maybe.

As many tuning parts will be prohibited, I'm not sure the lobby will even allow the car in.
