GT6 [CANCELLED] 2014 ROOZ Formula Gran Turismo World Championship

Anyone keen for a high octane World Championship?


Races will be held on Fridays, with a planned race start by 8:35PM AEST at the latest.

Championship Features:
Car: Formula Gran Turismo '04
Max Power: 700 BHP
Min Weight: 550 KG
Downforce and gearbox tuning: Allowed
Suspension tuning: BANNED.
Differential adjustments: Allowed.
Driver aids: Allowed, but TC and ASM banned for Div 1 drivers.

Qualifying: 12 minute session similar to Q3. However, the qualifying timer will be set to 14 minutes so those who are still on a lap can complete it. If you pass the line with less than 2 minutes left, that was your last lap. Points penalties may apply.


Races: Round 1: United States Grand Prix Central (Indianapolis Road Course) 49 laps (Option: RS, Prime RM)

Round 2: German Grand Prix (Nürburgring GP/F) 44 laps (Option: RS, Prime RM)

Round 3: Japanese Grand Prix (Suzuka Circuit) 46 laps (Racing Soft)

Round 4: Italian Grand Prix (Monza '79-'93) 52 laps (Racing Soft)

Round 5: Monaco Grand Prix 78 laps (Racing Soft)

Round 6: British Grand Prix (Silverstone) 44 laps (Racing Soft)

Round 7: Belgian Grand Prix (Spa-Francorchamps) 2 Hours (Option: RS, Prime: RH)

Round 8: Austrian Grand Prix (Red Bull Ring) 2 hours (Racing Soft)*

In events with more than one compound, both must be used during the race. No tyre mixing.

Points system: F1 style. Bonus points applied for Pole and Fastest Lap.

Like zamps said, Suzuka? Laguna Seca? Personally I would suggest to keep it to just the F1 tracks on the game. Still a big list - Sliverstone, Suzuka, Spa, Monza, Nurburgring, Côte d' Azur, with the addition of Laguna for the US and of course, Bathurst. Even with that list, it makes it longer than a Rooz season, unless you run more that one race per night. But that would mean cutting down distance for each race. wrestling one of these machines across the top will sort the men from the boys.

I have never enjoyed Suzuka in GT despite loving it in F1 games, but hey, it's in there now.

I posted so many tracks in case we do a second series of this, an entirely new calendar can be produced, so it's not stale. The full calendar I can confirm will have at least 1 PD track.

I think I like the fgt more in gt5 that was a beast, this seems a bit more tame I think? Haven't driven in a while.
So geed for a proper f1 c'ship, only things I drive in cockpit no matter what.
Will there be suspension tuning? I never bother with it, only downforce, I find it too hard to find the minor differences (in open wheelers at least) in suspension in a game, unless there are f1 2013 like setups that are completely OP.

The McLaren F1 Base Model has a superb cockpit/inside view. Do like using that one, not many others though.

I'm still tossing up about suspension, since I don't particularly have the time to spend hours and hours teating suspension, yet I want this to be a pure Formula series, we shall see.

I was driving that thing like crazy, Bathurst bumps will do that!

Will have a go if schedule suits..

Indy road course would suit the F1 more, laguna is pretty tight, besides indy was a track on the calander for 8 years.

Yeah I was thinking instead of daytona and ignoring the east/West thing, I have no idea where they're located. Daytona isn't too bad I guess

Daytona is in florida, indy is in indiana which is in the top middle of america and laguna is in California, Willow springs is also in california.

There is quite a few colour combos that match the same as some current and past F1 teams, maybe make some teams based on that?

I know you could easily have Ferrari, Williams, Jordan, and maybe Mclaren.

That's exactly what I'm going for, though I'm yet to decide what colour I'm using.

OH OH OH I'll take Jordan colours. LOVED their cars back when they had the snake head, buzzing hornets,and shark head schemes on them. Even if their performance was average at best.

This on the other hand was hideous!!
