Apparently there will be an Officially sanctioned Online championship a first in the History of FIA and Online racing which will especially be the pinnacle for Online racing. What we know: There will be 3 championships (World, international and regional). So I would assume international would be based on Contintent and regional would be a national championship. No word on how this will be formed but my guess will be via a time trial or timed race of sorts and ranked individuals will be put into the classes they fit in. Likely things to consider: we know Redbull already sponser gamers but with an official grading system like this, it will be very much possible to have a professional series each driver being payed to race via sponsors and or teams. It's pretty amazing that the FIA is acknowledging the emergence of virtual racing. Though they surely couldn't rely on GT servers etc to run a championship like we do here given how problem prone it is. They would need to run these races in a controlled environment.
